Who's down for getting a big group together for the Muse show? I would love to be surrounded by people from my favorite place on teh interwebs, brought together by my favorite place in real life, seeing one of my very favorite bands play!

Count us in for the Muse Krewe! That's def one of the main draws for the weekend....Muse for Mike, MMJ, Street Sweeper and MGMT for me ;D The caveat being I have never seen Muse live soooo....I have a feeling they will be added to my list as well

No Ozzy love? I guarantee he won't disappoint if you let him love you, cause that's what Ozzy does
I am sad to miss Voodoo. Think of me when you go to the Old Absynthe ~ we all love that place. They put ice in the urinals. And hot pickled okra in the Bloody Marys.
Saving my monies for Paris & Amsterdam. Guess I shouldn't whine to much. But still.....
So we got our dance tent add today: Crystal Method DJ Set. Its strangely listed at the top of the billing on the website but I think that is only to let people notice the new addition.
I'd check it out if there aren't any conflicts. Did anyone here see them at Roo? If so, how was it?
Oh man, you KNOW I'm down with Ozzy. He's closing out the fest, so I was just tryin' to get everyone together earlier on.
How certain are you that he's closing out the fest? I thought that seemed like the most likely scenario as well until I found this: www.myspace.com/ozzyosbourne
Yeah, when Ozzy first was being mentioned I think Sat was the most likely time, then after it was confirmed I think everyone just thought it would be so cool for him to play on Halloween that those rumors overwhelmed everything else....but the original rumors I heard were him on Sat so... ??? I'm happy either way.
And of COURSE I will be feeling the Ozzy Love How can you NOT go see him? And how could you of all people think I would NOT go see him? LOL!
And also, y'all think JJ ain't gonna pull some wild shiz on Halloween in NOLA??!! Yeah, no, yeah.
Ummmm yeah I'm calling a Yim Yames "Paranoid" cover right now...and if we are lucky we'll get "War Pigs" too. I can't wait to see what the guys pull out for All Hallows Eve....gonna be insanely good that's all I know! ;D ;D

I'm still hoping for an LCD after show.
I think I was at part of Crystal Method's roo show and was enjoying them, I need to check the schedule. I went to a handful of Lunar acts not knowing who was playing

First timer here to VooDoo!! I've gathered that the clubs for afterhours/late night/afterparties are ----Tipitina's, House of Blues, Ampersands, and Old Absynthe. Any other places to must see? I've never been to NOLA and going with my boyfriend who has been to 4 roo's with me (i'm the festie, he just likes to keep me safe). I'm the one who came up with the idea to go(he tried to convince me of moogfest b/c he thinks they are all the same hahaha) and I want to get busy doing everything in NOLA since there is so much to see in a new city and we've never been!! love to meet some of you guys, too!

^The Republic hosts voodoo after-shows too. You'll also want to check out Frenchmen St one night if you can, lots of music clubs/bars on that street. Frenchmen is the biggest party in the city on Halloween.
Since you've never been to New Orleans, I could understand if you want to see Bourbon St. But I'd say it's a complete waste of time.

Yeah the aftershows that Voodoo puts on are always "big" acts. Like 2nd/3rd tier lineup additions. And local bands will be scattered throughout the city.
Yeah I'll be shocked if Blue Nile and Snug Harbor (Both on Frenchman) don't have some really good aftershows. And I know Lost Bayou Ramblers play often at DBA. Not sure Old Absynthe is a large enough venue for a big name....at least in the main bar. Is there a room next to it that they can open for events? HoB and Tipitinas will both be the major BIG venues most likely for the "official" aftershows. But it's the last minute late late nites that will be the ones you just stumble on that will be worth it!

Alright, fine, all of your random posts have convinced me to attend Voodoo. I'm going to have to upset alot of friends who are going to the Umphreys halloween weekend set in St Louis. But.... they will understand or i will kidnap them and bring them with me. I might need to throw in on a room with somebody if anyones lookin to split the bill, which some of you seem to be interested in doing. I'll be heading down from Chi-town. Might drive, might fly. who knows. All depends on how much dough I blow at North Coast.
Yaaay! Another convert! ;D As a group we can be very convincing Not as convincing as NOLA @ Halloween with a very wicked lineup tho! Welcome aboard the Crazy Train....kidnap as many friends as you can and meet us in City Park! ;D
It looks like I will be getting to experience my first Voodoo this year as the lineup is too stellar to miss. Not too long of a drive from Atlanta and we already have a hotel room booked. This will be my first time to New Orleans for something other than Mardi Gras.

Just a few weeks before the show. They might let us know which bands are playing which days earlier but as far as times go it probably won't be until October.

Joined because I wanted a place to talk about Voodoo (Why don't they have an official forum?), though I do plan to go to Bonnaroo one day (Probably cant make next year, but maybe 2012?) so its ok right?
Anyways, line-up looks killer, and they said theres quite a few adds to come. I've been keeping up with tour dates and im very excited about the possibilities. Theres some really good bands that have dates that fit. LCD Soundsystem is touring with Hot Chip, Phoenix is in Florida just 2 days earlier, Massive Attack and Thievery Corporation dates fit perfectly (Moog on Saturday, Dallas on that Monday), and Ghostland Observatory is in Houston and Dallas the Saturday and Sunday of Voodoo. Very possible any of these guys get added. And I've been calling Soundgarden since the beginning (though it may be a bit much to ask at this point).
Anyways, Muse is my favorite band so im really excited there, and I love MGMT too (Though I hear live is a letdown). Deadmau5 is great too, and Interpol and Jonsi and Florence. Also, I haven't listened to MMJ yet (thats probably a sin around here, sorry ) but I'll definitely check them out based on everything ive heard. Can't wait
