Also, I haven't listened to MMJ yet (thats probably a sin around here, sorry ) but I'll definitely check them out based on everything ive heard. Can't wait
It's alright. I'm late in the MMJ game too, just got an album of theirs a few weeks ago. Jim James at Newport plus the American Dad ep got me interested along with all the hype here.

Yeah American Dad episode is where I first heard of them. Was interested from there but never got around to listening to them. Definitely will now (before the fest) since I'm seeing them

Is Dead Confederate good? I haven't listened
Also, rumor time. On their facebook, moogfest said LCD wasn't playing that due to "other commitments".
Could one of these commitments be Voodoo? Maybe even (ok maybe im getting way ahead of myself here) an aftershow on another day? That would be awesoooome.

More additions!
With main stage artists Muse, Ozzy Osbourne, Weezer, My Morning Jacket and Drake already confirmed we are happy to announce these dynamic editions; The Whigs, White Rabbits, Dead Confederate, River City Extension, Miracle at St. Anna, O’ Brother, SPEAK and Michael Tolcher. Meanwhile, the beats will never stop in Le Plur either, especially with newly added Kelis, The Crystal Method, Kaskade and Swiss Chriss joining the previously announced Deadmau5, Paul van Dyk, Ferry Corsten, Die Antwoord, Innerpartysystem and some of the best electronica artists in the world for 3 days of incredible dance music in an incredible environment.

I heard they were booked for an aftershow but then canceled it.

Five years ago New Orleans and the Gulf Coast region were slammed by Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, endangering one of the greatest cities in the world. Through the sheer spirit of the people of New Orleans and an inherent love of celebration, culture, music and food, people continue to band together to restore and rebuild their beloved city. Just six weeks after New Orleans was evacuated in 2005, the Voodoo Experience was the first major public celebration of everything the city stands for. Held on the banks of the Mississippi River behind Audubon Zoo, it was an emotional day for everyone who attended. Since then, we as a city have experienced great highs from the Saints winning the Super Bowl to terrible lows of deplorable irresponsibility and failure with the BP Horizon explosion.
Throughout it all the voices and instruments of New Orleans musicians have traveled the world as ambassadors representing the citizens that many have tried to forget. Today as we remember and honor, it gives us great pleasure to announce a special addition to the 2010 Voodoo line-up: Dr. John will join the Voices of the Wetlands All Stars. Stationed at his piano, Dr. John will accompany musicians and activists Tab Benoit, Cyril Neville, Waylon Thibodeaux, Big Chief Bourdreaux, John Vidacovich and Johnny Sansone. It will be an extraordinary performance, a beautiful celebration and reminder that we must come together through the music to protect our home, resources and each other.
If you have never seen Dr John....and even if you have (I have at least 4 times and can NOT WAIT to see him again!) You HAVE to be at this set!!!
This will be incredible! No doubt this will be one of the MAJOR highlights of the festie! I keep thinking I can't get more excited...then something like this happens! Hurry up OCT!!

ZOMG! For those of you who don't already know this, there's a music festival named after one of his albums. I'm prrrrrrretty sure you guys are all familiar with this fest. I will not miss this set, hell or high water.

Oh wow, Bonnaroo is named after an album by this guy? Haven't ever checked him out (sounds like ive been living under a rock or something) but I definitely will.
OR, the Tom Tom Club is currently touring with a new album, and their last scheduled date 10/16 Brooklyn Bowl...
Mmmm, Tina Weymouth...
I will always love her!
Ok, I've finally talked myself into going. Looks like I'll be heading out alone. PM me if your looking to split a hotel room and/or wanting to carpool. My route will be Chattanooga to New Orleans, on Interstate 59.

We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Chrissie Hynde (Yes, Chrissie Hynde from the Pretenders) has a new project called JP, Chrissie and the Fairground Boys and we’re happy to announce they will be joining us at Voodoo. It’s an incredible musical partnership full of raw rock energy and tender emotive song writing, which will make this Bingo! Parlor performance an intimate event that you won’t want to miss. The Bingo! Parlor line-up already features the New Orleans Bingo! Show, Fleur de Tease, and The Happy Talk Band, but recent new additions include: MyNameIsJohnMichael, Supagroup, Zydepunks, Rock City Morgue, Egg Yolk Jubilee and the MarchFourth Marching Band. Keep your eyes and ears open for many more talent additions to be revealed over the upcoming weeks!
If they don't announce the schedule soon I think my brain will turn into worms. I know it'll be a few weeks but I must know when MMJ is playing. GRRGRGRGRGRGARGH!
I just got a big promotion and can afford it now so I am 100% going! My only thing is I refuse to leave Audrey and I need her babysitter or a family member to come with us and watch her at night.

Facebook update said day by day soon, I'd say Thursday or Friday is a good bet. Schedule with times and stages and stuff probably won't be until October
