Where did you guys find the line-up? I can't find it anywhere.
And Drake is a rapper, hes a lot like Lil Wayne in his style, but I like him more than Wayne because his lyrics are way better. Still, his style of rap isn't really my thing, but as far as it goes, he could be a lot worse at it, I listened to his new album and it wasn't that bad. If no one in the dance tent interesting is playing at the same time, I'll see him.
He's so high on the list because hes the popular thing right now, turn on your local top 40 hits station and theres a good chance you'll hear something by him.
Still though, if hes closing out with Ozzy, then thats insane, and they better have more adds. Saturday in general is a bit weak. They really need another near headliner or headliner type add to play before Ozzy on Saturday night.

Drake might be the most overrated hip hop act of all time. His "mixtape" is better than his album, and he's only as famous as he is because he was HEAVILY endorsed by Lil Wayne. Of course, just my opinion.
I'll definitely be hitting up Le Plur during his set.

If someone good is at Le Plur or the other stages during that time I'll definitely be there (Like id see the Crystal Method or the Eagles of Death Metal), but if its no one I care about then I'll see Drake. Hes certainly not the most overrated hip-hop act ever. He had a few decent tracks on his album IMO. Not my favorite but not terrible. And people im going with really want to see him.
So I was looking at that list and I was like "who the hell is this Drake person that he rates so high" ???

Yeah, Jimmy got shot and now is in a wheelchair. Now his plans of being a basketball star are shot. But then he started playing the drums for the high school band. Then he started rapping with his girlfriend and singer Ashley who dated Craig his band partner but then he met a girl who was also paralyzed and she was going to Europe for a special surgery. He left Ashley to hook up with that chick then left the show to get the surgery. His Dad didn't want him to do it and didn't want to let him dig into his trust fund but he did it anyway somehow...he needed a way to leave the show to be a rapper. His real name is Aubrey YEP! I watch Degrassi....and reruns of 90210.
Ahhhh, and the chick on the bottom left is Darcey (I don't think she hooked up with Jimmy)....who plays Annie on the NEW 90210. I watch way too much guilty pleasure TV, apparently. Don't judge me brah!

So unfortunately my boyfriend and I bought tickets to this, and now after going to Electric Zoo and breaking the bank and a friend's wedding, we are unable to go. Anybody interested in buying our tickets? I obviously only want to sell them at face, for $150 apiece, but I might can go a little lower on the price...just DM me and let me know. I'm seriously bummed I can't go but I would love for the tickets to be in an inforooster's hands!

I don't care that Wayne endorsed him, I do care that he sounds different than most pop-rappers, the beats are good, he has a song where he collaborates with The-Dream, and has a good voice.

Soooo....getting close now...just a little over a month. Time to start making some at least pseudo plans....
I have a LOT of Rooster phone #s but might want to start a seperate VooDoo 2010 list...doesn't have to be me keeping it but I will volunteer if no one else wants to do it....but please if anyone REALLY WANTS to keep up the phone list and make calls informing everyone of what's going on all weekend I will HAPPILY let anyone who wants that job have it! ;D
But I figure at minimum we might want to know:
A) Who is getting in on Thurs and might want to meet up for dinner and/or something to do Thurs night together
B) If anyone is interesting in a brunchish meetup pre-festie on Fri or if there is a time/place we all want to try to meetup on Fri afternoon or if we just want to try and meetup Fri aftershow someplace like Cafe Du Monde and move on to the Quarter after. That was successful in years past....
C) We have had success doing Brunch if we want to try that on Sat morning we just need to figure out when and where....
D) We have also had success having a "last supper" after the festie Sunday night usually at one of the late night restaurants on Bourbon...one of our faves is the Italian place over the Old Absinthe House but we are open to suggestions.....
So.....Who all is staying where? I know a BUNCH of us are staying at Marriot Canal...who else is staying where? I know most of us staying at the Marriot will be taking the trolly/bus into/out of the festie. Locals please chime in. I am a regular in NOLA but definitely NOT a local so always interested in the local view! ;D

I have a question about tickets. I purchased the package through payment plan and made the final payment on sept. 21. when do they usually email the tickets?
I don't know anything about payment plan, but I do know that after officially buying your ticket that they send you a PDF print-out version of your ticket. That is your ticket into the festival.
In other words, since LCD is playing Dance Yrself Clean, (I believe was the first time at V-fest), I must go see them ATL this upcoming Monday.
my brother and i will be at the canal marriot, arriving on thurs, up for any meet-ups, leaving mon afternoon. also, still have room if anyone is looking for a room to split.

I also did the payment plan... and my ticket was e-mailed to me just a couple of hours after I made the last payment... If you haven't gotten it yet then I would definitely e-mail, or call and ask what the deal is.
Also, I'll be coming in Friday afternoon with a small group. We're staying at the New Orleans West Bank Tower Holiday Inn. It's right across the big bridge in Gretna.

Schedule out friday. On twitter they confirmed at least 2 adds to the main stage are coming so I'm sure thats when we get them.
I'm hoping for LCD Soundsystem or Phoenix. Or both. LCD is touring with Hot Chip through the 27th, and Phoenix is in Florida on the 27th, so both fit, and either could headline Saturday night with Ozzy....
Yeah, I'd take either as well but would love an LCD addition (although I just feel it's doubtful for some reason). Saturday could certainly use some help as it's by far the weakest day of the weekend.
Agreed...Saturday needs some assistance. LOVED Phoenix at Bonnaroo and would GLADLY see them again. Their set actually made me a bigger fan than I was beforehand.

I really hope that the times change. They've got MGMT 5:30, Deadmau5 6:15, MMJ 7:00 all on sunday! I guess I'm going to be doing a lot of running around.
Does anyone Know if Deadmau5 is playing anywhere late night on sunday or any other day? Saturday needs help.
