yeah i mean i just like to know the weather. not only will it not affect my attendance, but it won't affect my planning. i'm still going to bring a cheap poncho, extra clothes/shoes, sun screen, and some shade. sometimes it's just nice to know what to expect for the sake of knowing.
here's a sweet product from that model that only goes out 84 hours. it's the simulated radar for thursday. take it with a grain of salt but it kind of gives you an idea of the rain-risk. i'm assuming everyone here is familiar with the concept of radar: green means rain, dark green means more rain.

it looks like it is going to be unbearably hot, rainy, humid and ripe for dangerous storms and possible tornadoes....I'm hoping this is wrong, but as someone said earlier, it's obviously not stopping me from coming
The National Weather Service is showing a typical June forecast for TN -- I live about 90 minutes from the Farm, and we've been seeing this weather pattern for several weeks now. More sun than clouds, with pop-up showers.
The NWS forecast has been pretty consistent lately too, with maybe slight variations in temperature and on certain points chance of precip.
Like Friday now has 30% up from 20%. Sunday now has a high of 92 instead of 90. Little things like that. Some of the nights now have 20% chances of storms, but I expect that to be carryover from earlier in the evening.

no changes; typical roo weather with no extremes. just to summarize again: decent chance of rain wed into thursday, then just a small possibility of afternoon/late afternoon pop up storms friday-sunday, mainly on friday. short lived storms can still drop a lot of water though so maybe bring a cheapo poncho. chance of rain increases a good bit again monday morning-ish, or maybe even sunday late-late night as another front moves through (timing is iffy). Hot all weekend with spotty cloud cover after thursday.
This is my last post, I hope it's correct. This far out pretty much any weather site you check will probably tell a similar story though, so I don't really have anymore to contribute. See you all there!!!
Wednesday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 68. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.
Thursday: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 88. Calm wind becoming west between 5 and 10 mph.
Thursday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 69. West southwest wind around 5 mph becoming calm.
Friday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 92. Calm wind becoming south southwest between 5 and 10 mph.
Friday Night: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 73. South wind around 5 mph.
Saturday: A 30 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 91. South wind 5 to 10 mph becoming west.
Saturday Night: Partly cloudy, with a low around 71. West southwest wind between 5 and 10 mph becoming calm.
Sunday: A 20 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a high near 92.
Sunday Night: A 40 percent chance of showers and thunderstorms. Partly cloudy, with a low around 72.
Really not a whole lot of change here, other than a couple of degrees and a slightly increased rain chance Sunday.
2007 was the hottest temp at 97 but it was very dry with heat indices about 95-97 (remember the dust bowl.) This year will be like '04 (monsoon year) with temps about 94 and heat index about 104. Much worse than '07. Hopefully we'll miss out on the 3 ft of mud though.
Whats the ouch? That looks like good summer weather to me.
Glad I'm from Florida....
You'll know the "Ouch" once you get there. This is my 8th Roo and it could possibly be the hottest (highest heat index) ever so I repeat, "OUCH!"
oh sh*t. I'm scared...but... I'll just take it easy in the day hopefully and force myself to eat when I have any breaks and drink water. Hopefully stayin at the barn, in AC, will help me sleep a lil more and keep cool.

... EXTREME CAUTION ADVISED FOR HEAT AND HUMIDITY THIS WEEKEND...
NUMEROUS OUTDOOR EVENTS WILL BE TAKING PLACE ACROSS MIDDLE TENNESSEE THIS WEEKEND. THOSE ORGANIZING AND PARTICIPATING IN THESE EVENTS SHOULD BE PREPARED FOR HEAT STRESS.
HIGHS EACH DAY THROUGH THE WEEKEND WILL REACH THE LOW TO MID 90S WITH LOWS IN THE LOW TO MID 70S. HUMIDITY LEVELS WILL BE HIGH... AND THIS WILL MAKE IT FEEL EVEN MORE UNCOMFORTABLE. THE HEAT INDEX EACH AFTERNOON WILL PUSH NEAR 100.
HERE ARE SOME SUGGESTIONS FOR THOSE WHO WILL BE OUTDOORS THIS WEEKEND...
DRINK PLENTY OF NON ALCOHOLIC FLUIDS.
WEAR LIGHT WEIGHT AND LIGHT COLORED CLOTHING.
TAKE FREQUENT BREAKS IN THE SHADE AND TRY TO AVOID SUNBURN."

Hope some people see this before tomorrow. I live in Chattanooga, a little over an hour southeast of Manchester, and the entire area has been getting socked by rain nearly all day. Don't prepare for mud anymore, expect it...Cells continue to develop over the area. There is not much movement with them and they are dumping a lot of rain in a short amount of time. It's 9:05 EST right now and it looks there are some pretty violent cells still developing in West Tn and it looks like a good one is headed straight for Manchester.
