I just actually looked at Accuweather for the weekend of 'Roo and they say that the average high is 84-85 degrees and the average low is 64 degrees. Can anyone remember it getting that cool in the evening at any 'Roo?
The average high seems completely reasonable but that low seems really low to me.
In 2006 it got way lower than that at night. We were bundled up and shivering in our tent, it was really cold. Probably in the 50s I think. Most years though it has been a little too chilly to still be in a sundress but not really cold enough for a jacket. I would say mid 60s is about right.

Wow, we've been last year and 2008 and I can't ever remember feeling the least bit cold. Maybe the alcohol kept me warm.
I heard about the tornado last year but not until after the fact. Sounds stupid but if you're in the open don't they suggest you lie on the ground or in a ditch?
I was freezing in 2007 at night and forgot to bring a blanket. The first night there I was waking myself up from shivering so I had to shell out the 50 bucks for a bonnaroo blanket the next day, which I love now but at the time I wasn't too happy about it.
Last year Thursday's weather was epic. I've never been in the rain for that long and not cared, until before People Under The Stairs when I started getting cold and tired ... it was fun, but I'll be fine if Thursdaw is dry this year.
And while we're on the subject, what's Bonnaroo policy on tornados? I mean where in the hell will 100,000 people go if there was a tornado watch/warning?
The official policy (and you should really read the policies yourself) is that they're against tornados. If you encounter one, remember that 99% of all tornados spin counterclockwise. (The opposite is true of cyclones -- the southern hemisphere equivalent.) So if one is coming toward you, spin clockwise as quickly as you can with you arms out and your head back. Some say it helps to scream really loudly. I prefer WOOOOOOOO, but I understand that that's a personal choice and some may be more comfortable with WEEEEEEEEE. Do this and you'll be fine.

I don't want rain. I'll take dust over rain. You always think that rain will be a good thing. "OH, but it will keep the dust levels down and cool things off."
It's never as cool as it sounds once it's actually pouring down all day. Boo to rain.
I dunno how much to trust those forecasts though. Have you found them to be pretty true in the end?
Last year it was fairly accurate; it predicted rain Thursday and Friday and a dry weekend. Those estimates are based on climatic averages, so they are as reliable as any average. In this part of the country though major sustained rain events are usually out by late May and pick up again in July. The dates for the festival are fairly static each year, and that may have something to do with the weather.
Let me contrast that with my hometown festival: Beale Street Music Fest. I can't remember a year when rain or storms hasn't plagued it. That time of the month it's virtually guaranteed to rain unless we're in a drought year.
Ok, maybe it's just me but I am cold every year. last year at NIN I wanted a hat & gloves! really. I think this year I will take a sweatshirt with a hood and a big pocket for my hands and shoes that are not sandals.

I guess I'll post these links again. Below is a link to a product of the Global Forecast Model (GFS), one that American mets use for guidance. This model goes out pretty far but is pretty unreliable after 5-6 days. Look at the bottom of the image for the time that the forecast is valid.
The only night I remember being cold last year was Thursday after the storm. Most likely because my sweatshirt and skirt were soaked. No idea where my poncho was at that point haha
Basically just bring an inner tube... it's going to be a massive pool party.
Even though it may not be consistant with the overall B'roo vibe we've all come to love, a Roo Pool Party would be AWESOME! Or Even better, a Roo lazy river from Stage to Stage.

^The one I saw for Tullahoma (the only Coffee County town available) was a little less favorable. It had a 50% rain chance on Thursday that gradually increased throughout the weekend. Might be a wet one...
