how's the weather been lately? Any predictions on how the the grounds will be this year? It would be nice if the ground was soft enough to actually drive tent stakes into without being nothing but mud I know, I'm getting picky
It's been as hot as hades around middle TN this weekend and today.... very high humidity! It got up to 91 yesterday.
I set up my tent this weekend and the ground was soft enough for the metal stakes to go in without using the mallet. I am an hour from the farm and it has also rained quite a bit this month (think 17") so ground hardness wasn't an issue. I would guess the conditions on the farm are similar.
We're still 2 weeks away but I'd say you should prepare for a hot Roo! And probably some rain but hopefully not much.
Broke the record for high temp yesterday in Nashville. Likely close to the same today. The extended forecast only goes thru Monday June 7th and it calls for 90's also. Look's like it could be a hot one this year.

Thankfully we've had one of the warmest springs on record up here so the temperature difference won't be as big of a shock to the system this year. Nothing like 91, but at plenty of days just below 30 C, which I believe would be in the mid 80s if I'm not mistaken.
yeah, in new brunswick it hit 31 today. took a 40 minute walk today to get some resistance to it. i never find it too bad at roo as long as i have water and frozen lemonade.
I've never been a huge fan of Accuweather. I also don't tend to put too much faith in forecasts beyond five days out. Which means the weekend before 'roo I'll be start being over at NWS Nashville's site a few times a day.
And while we're on the subject, what's Bonnaroo policy on tornados? I mean where in the hell will 100,000 people go if there was a tornado watch/warning?
I bought a brand new EZ up last year for Bonna. The first night (Tornado night) it got picked up by the wind, even though it was pegged down x6 pegs, and blown 50 ft down the campsite and landed upside down on top of someones car. We managed to rig it up for the rest of the weekend, but I left it behind since the frame was totally busted.

Maybe. When a dust devil wants to take your tent or canopy, it's pretty much a done deal.

Definitely bring a hoody. I'm constantly hot, and I even threw one on at night at Roo 08. After being scorched all day at 90 degree, 65 feels pretty dang chilly, especially after getting a sun burn.

If it's staked down right, with good, heavy stakes - it will disintegrate before it blows away.
I watched some serious flying tent action during the thurs storm last year. If your EZUP type canopy has guy wires for the canopy USE THEM and stake them down well.

I'm no weather expert but this is my theory. . .
I just been going by the old 5 day forecast here lately and it's been wrong just about everyday this week but one. I live in TN so I can honestly say. . . Expect it to be hot and scattered t-storms and crazy random downpours. . . That's what its been like for weeks now and I don't see it changing. It's been a very rainy spring and I expect a HOT summer!
