That would be a complete miracle. I can't see us not catching a few afternoon thunderstorms. That's just what it does in the south. I can almost set my watch to it here in Florida.
I absolutely hope for a little touch of rain... if any one remembers Dustaroo 07
We will not have a repeat of Dustaroo, as the south is no longer in the grips of a terrible fucking drought.
I hope it doesn't rain, all that's gonna do is make it humid and miserable. I'm cool with a day or two of overcast skies though. Hell even four days of partly cloudy sounds perfect.
Ha! That accuweather has no rain forecast until next Friday. Weather channel has rain everyday 30% until Thursday. Almost makes you think they're just guessing.
The thing with Accuweather vs. Weather.com is, I think, just the percentage difference... 30+ shows a rain picture, but if it's 24% or something, no rain picture.
*shrugs* yeah...just gotta prepare for rain and expect it 1 way or another.
You hope it holds? Accuweather is calling for "Strong Thunderstorms" both Friday and Saturday and "Thunderstorm or two" for Sunday...I don't mind a little rain, but thunderstorms all weekend is not a "hell yea!! hope it holds!" weekend!

I suspect that stranger was referring to an earlier version of the forecast. The same link will carry you to the updated forecast. I don't think anyone is keeping their fingers crossed for strong thunderstorms.
^I agree somewhat. The storms last year were really no big deal; they added an element of intensity to the weekend. I do, however, hope that the forecast lightens up a bit.
If you read the fine print on the "strong thunderstorms" prediction, the forecast only predicts 3 hours or so of rain each day. The summer storms in the South typically don't sustain high levels of severity for terribly long.
I still hope we get some rain, though. It's good to know that we won't have a repeat of the Dustaroo that was 2007.

yeah, when i posted it up. it had no rain all weekend. so i guess it changed..
to be honest the storms on Thursday last year and Friday in 08 are some of my favorite memories of Roo. Just make sure your tent is water-proof.
Fuck a storm. My dammed tent came apart in the deluge of 09 and we ended up having to ducttape the thing together. It's not going to be like 07, we've gotten tons of rain this year.
It really doesn't matter what we ask for. Mid-June in Tennessee means about a 90% chance of serious rain at some point during the 4 days. So I guess I'm just hoping for something either short in duration or at least not half a foot in 5 hours. I prefer to drink some extra gallons of water than hike through the mud everyday. Right now the forecasts are for super hot and severe wetness on two days. That will really complicate the weekend. Saturday afternoon, I spend 6+ hours at that tent, so rain that day would be fine with me.

Although the storm on Thursday last year was awesome to remember...at the time I was actually scarred. For a few reasons.
1) I was a volunteer so I was already there for 4 days living in a tent that was my home. But this tent was the best 30 dollars I ever spent and not even a drop came through. Go generic Target tents.
2) I was 6 months pregnant and at the tollbooths.
3) I was at the tollbooths waiting for the rest of my family. My husband and two kids were in the never ending line.
4) When we(the staff) heard of the walkies that they were shutting down the tollbooths and were going to send the golf carts out to get us out of there. They never did take us out but the tollbooths were shut down a few times. During that time we(the vols and staff) just stood under a shade tent. But the whole time I was thinking "there is noway they are going to take me away when my kids and husband are in a car line miles long with nowhere to go."
The last time they closed the tollbooths and the weather got really bad. I took off and ran through the tollbooths and down then car line until I saw my car. It took me a while to find it but I did and then it was a great weekend.
So yeah I used to be in the boat as "I like some rain" But now I would prefer no rain.
Now all of the weather sites are agreeing to an extent on the forecast. The furthest that weatherbug sidebar, accuweather, and weather.com go together is Monday the 7th. All three show mid 80's lower 60's and partly cloudy.
The rain during MMJ was the best thing ever. Unfortunately I had to leave early to wake up my sister and friend Beth. I promised them I wouldn't let them miss the Disco Biscuits. It was their first bonnaroo so they couldn't make it the whole night. Too much vodka/crystal light shooters in the morning.
