Wonder if they'll get anyone to replace them. I imagine it'd be tough on such short notice
On the Moogfest facebook page, they have repeated about 50 times that the remaining members of Devo are still doing some kind of performance. I would imagine they would use the same timeslot they already had. I'm guessing it will just be a Devo performance with a guest filling in for Bob...which makes the most sense.
devo cancelled for funfunfunfest in austin too. bummer. luckily they are offering refunds for tickets. (since mgmt and rjd2 are at the same time and devo cancelled, i kind of don't want to go anymore)
I hope you gize are having the times of your monkey ass lives. Asheville is such a cool town, I would really love to be up there right now. Unfortunately, I have been slaving away at the club all week. It has been a lot of fun, though.

Sleeeeeep. Neon Indian was really cool, noD. I can imagine seeing them in a club setting, when everyone is there for them, would be really awesome. The crowd wasn't really freaking like at Roo. They sounded amazing though.
Neon Indian sounded great. It's probably a good thing the crowd wasn't going nuts because the floor probably would have caved in since it broke during Sleigh Bells.

I was getting rocked during Sleigh Bells. I remember this girl tapped me on the shoulder and said, "It's okay, you can jump up and down." I was just trying to keep my camera from getting crushed, so jumping up and down and swinging it around was pretty far down the list of things to do.
Yeah, that kind of freaked me out a little bit. They just cleared out the pit and the security guys were bouncing on that little section of the floor and it looked like there was no stability whatsoever. That big dude had to have been very close to caving that in and falling through. Thank god nothing happened, that'd have been awful.
Also, the front of my hair briefly caught on fire at the beginning of Neon Indian when a bowl was being passed around. True story. Music was definitely killer last night, though, enjoyed all the sets at the Thomas Wolfe. Even Shout Out Out Out Out Out Out Out Out sounded good. Highlights of the weekend were Jonsi, Hot Chip, Massive Attack, Four Tet, Big Boi, but I feel bad leaving anything out that I saw all weekend because it was all awesome. Jonsi was probably my favorite set of the weekend, just one of the most beautiful shows I've ever been to, easily. Need to see him if you get the chance. Even got to catch a little of the Four Tet/Caribou collaborative DJ set and STILL get on the rail for Massive Attack after Jonsi.
I had an awesome weekend, for sure. Airline and Zapp, it was awesome hanging with you guys all weekend and seeing awful metal/industrial incoherent, growling metal bands in the park. I love Asheville.

Yeah, people were going NUTS for Sleigh Bells. I didn't realize that's when the floor broke, but that makes more sense. People were into it at Neon Indian, but they weren't exactly jumping up and down and RAGING like at Sleigh Bells. And turns out that was a good thing, because our large friend might've been no more.
I felt bad they closed out the pit for Hot Chip, though, because that dude we met from Brooklyn drove 14 hrs for that fest mostly to get on the rail for Hot Chip. He got there for it, and then they cleared out the pit. Luckily, he and his girl were able to get into the second row of seats. [insert joke about not being "Ready for the Floor" here]
