Not sure she would headline, but Norah Jones is really blowing up these days. If she keeps it up it would not surprise me if she got to headline in a couple of years.
really? i don't think most of those mentioned so far would actually headline. i think gaga with be 4th headliner like jay was. bjork would probably be which, portishead probably which(hopefully late night). dolly might be in a tent and most of the others wouldn't be booked at roo.

Just like KoL this year ... I thought Roo was more about the music not just a whos got the BIGGEST-DICK CONTEST Jess....

The only female or female led group that I'd want headlining Bonnaroo is Portishead. Bjork, maybe...but I'd be on the fence about seeing her, I think. But Portishead, I'd be genuinely giddy for.
Bonnaroo is clearly run by a bunch of misogynist pigs. Clearly.
I totally disagree. First off, the female headlining pool for Bonnaroo is rather thin. Like someone said before my post, Bjork as a headliner. I think Gaga could be as well, but I agree with the masses and will probably be a late night headliner and not the main act. Besides Gaga and Bjork, who else that is female has headlined a major festival here in the states? I really can't think of any.
2nd, for what Bonnaroo lacks in female headliners they make up in the undercard. In recent years, you will be hard pressed to find any other festival in the states that has as many female artists in their line-up than Bonnaroo.
I realize this is a joke but she is planning a comeback. Rusko is producing her new album which should yield some... interesting results. (ruskos a big dubstep producer fyi) But at roo? no
There are no female headliners that I would want at Bonnaroo. Bjork is the only one I would consider legit, but I'd skip it. Madonna late night also wouldn't be bad (way better than Lady GaGa).
I would like to see a Fleetwood Mac set as a Which Closer, though.
So, yeah, the only headliner I'd go see that is a female is Madonna and the only other one I wouldn't get mad over is Bjork. Fleetwood Mac and Portishead would be good, but not headliners. Stay the hell away, Lady GaGa.
I could see Portishead on Friday, late night What stage, like Phish in 09.
i can't believe you guys are hating on dolly! i agree with no way could she be a "headliner" like pearl jam or dmb's time, but she could def fit into snoop's slot from 09, something like that. i also disagree with whoever said she is the same famous as willie, kris, and merle. to my knowledge none of those men have theme parks named after them! haha.
as far as female headliners: you can all just start whining about it now, b/c i think gaga is def going to be there.
I was hoping they were going to put Dolly in the Willie, Merle slot this year but we got Kris. I think Dolly would be a great add but I have to agree she's not headlining. I've also been waiting for Bonnie Raitt and The Dixie Chicks (again, not headlining) some others that just haven't come through yet.
That being said, Dirty Jerzee is dead on with the influence of female performers in the undercard.
I am down with Gaga as a late night show but Bjork would make me insane.

I can certify that Bjork would be a fully qualified headliner. I have seen her twice and she is incredible live, no one has more powerful vocals than her. Portishead would definitely be awesome in my book also.
Lady Gaga would be fun but not as much talent as Bjork or Portishead.
That Diva has backed out of Jazz Fest two years in a row. I went this year to see her. 10 hours before she was to perform, she canceled and left them scrambling to find a replacement.
I don't know who could headline besides GaGa or Madonna as someone said before. Personally I would like to see Joan Jett there next year
Bjork.
This thread has been funny. It's not some vast misogynistic conspiracy that there hasn't been a female headliner at Roo. There just aren't many to choose from. Most of women that fill arenas are all pop princesses/divas who would go over terribly. It's more like Karaoke than anything.

Why do so many women like Lady Gaga? I don't understand it. All of my female friends who have a great taste in music like this talentless hack for some reason or another. Having an image does not mean that you make good music. Bonnaroo has made some questionable decisions lately but SURELY they would not even think twice about Gaga.

You know she is really not that bad imo, though not my favorite by a long stretch. However she writes her songs, plays her instruments, and sings the vocals. You may not like what she does, but she certainly does have talent.
