I just think that when roo books it's headliners they just happen to be male.
There are female acts that could Headline Roo. And we should all push for them !
I just think that Dolly is one that everyone would enjoy and appreciate. She is a true musician & songwriter that the roo audience loves.
Plus she is regarded as one of the best female guitar players in Nashville . She also plays the piano, dulcimer, drums, banjo, auto-harp ( aka : a harpsichord ) ,fiddle, harmonica and penny-whistle. Not to mention she can also sing like an angel. .
Why do some feel that to have a musician of that caliber a silly request ?
Not sure she would headline, but Norah Jones is really blowing up these days. If she keeps it up it would not surprise me if she got to headline in a couple of years.
There are no female headliners that I would want at Bonnaroo. Bjork is the only one I would consider legit, but I'd skip it. Madonna late night also wouldn't be bad (way better than Lady GaGa).
I would like to see a Fleetwood Mac set as a Which Closer, though.
So, yeah, the only headliner I'd go see that is a female is Madonna and the only other one I wouldn't get mad over is Bjork. Fleetwood Mac and Portishead would be good, but not headliners. Stay the hell away, Lady GaGa.
