Why do so many women like Lady Gaga? I don't understand it. All of my female friends who have a great taste in music like this talentless hack for some reason or another. Having an image does not mean that you make good music. Bonnaroo has made some questionable decisions lately but SURELY they would not even think twice about Gaga.
You know she is really not that bad imo, though not my favorite by a long stretch. However she writes her songs, plays her instruments, and sings the vocals. You may not like what she does, but she certainly does have talent.
ZOMG SHE'S A SEMI-COMPETENT POP ARTIST. BONNAROO HEADLINER GAIZ.

She is big enough to, though I would think ln would be more here style. So Lex how long have you been an 11 year old little girl?

Are you people wanting Bonnaroo to turn into the Lollapalooza of the south or what? I am seriously dumbfounded to read actual discussions about getting Lady Gaga to the farm. She makes lousy pop music, like every other pop artist on the radio. Case closed.
I couldn't care less about how she writes her own songs, sings her own vocals and can play the piano. When the end result is lousy "electropop", it shows her "talents" are a waste. No elaborate stage show is gonna cover that up.
Plus her image is downright stupid. For those saying, "Well she's making a social and political statement with her image", I hope you don't reproduce, because that is the biggest farking cop-out to excuse her to walk around dressed like a whore.

I am pretty sure she is just being a freak, Bonnaroo tends to appreciate that sort of thing.
I think we can all agree that there is no one intentionally keeping a female act from headlining. That being said, it WOULD be sexist to intentionally seek an act to headline because she/they are female. It's called "reverse sexism"... read a book

Just playin' with the I'm out part. Hell, let's have an estrogen party on the What Stage. random unknown chick band > Ani DiFranco > Tori Amos > Norah Jones > Grace Potter > Aretha Franklin > Sugarcubes reunion. Then Rush on the Which, late night.

Would this be the wrong time to suggest Donna Summer? Definitely not headliner material, but i'm sure she could put on a kick ass late night show in a tent.
Aretha would definitely be big enough, but I've heard way too many diva tantrum stories to want her there. It could end up being another Kanye situation or worse, she cancels the day before the show and we get Widespread Panic in dresses...
Fleetwood Mac is probably the most realistic female-led headline act of the bunch. They've got the name recognition and the legendary status. I actually think this one will happen eventually.
For some reason I could see Aretha Franklin in Stevie Wonder's spot. That would make me a sad panda. I'm just not impressed anymore. I think there have been some good female artists mentioned here, but only one or two that would ever headline.

I'd love to see Joni Mitchell perform though if she is ever to return to a stage I don't particularly see her doing festival dates, even given her folky background. Aside from that I'd be excited about Portishead, Madonna & Bjork. I would also go see Aretha Franklin to collect on the other half of a concert she owes me after the $75/45 minute show I attended back in '05.
