I think the one thing we've all learned from this thread is that there simply aren't any female artists who are that good/that big to headline a major music festival like Bonnaroo, unless you want some mainstream pop mega-star prancing around up there.
Bjork fits, but other than her, there really aren't any other all female bands, or solo female artists who would headline Roo.

Well, I see your point Nod, but what about Heart or whats left of the Pretenders?
I don't want a female artist headlining Roo 2011, not because I'm sexist, but because I can't think of a single female act I would want to see in a headlining slot. Susan Tudeschi, Grace Potter, Regina Spektor are all amazing artists I would love to see at Roo again but they're certainly not headliners.
I'm suprised no one has mentioned Beyonce. I could see her a more viable headliner than dolly parton or lady gaga

Beyonce headlining may be the death of any long time fans attending. I just don't think she fits the festival in any way and certainly not as a headliner.
Madonna, Lady Gaga, Beyonce and Bjork are really the only 4 capable / big enough to warrant a Top 4 spot (Headliner + What LN).
Madonna is obviously big enough, and I would love to see, but seems unlikely. She has played a mini set at Coachella though so it is possible.
Gaga has headlined Lolla and I honestly wouldn't be surprised to see her in the Jay-Z spot within a couple years.
Beyonce might be a little too 'pop' for Roo, but she is being considered for Glastonbury (reportedly) so I wouldn't rule her out.
Bjork has headlined festivals and appeals to the indie crowd, but I question her appeal anymore. I'd bet she would play Which instead of What, but still one of the bigger female acts possible.
Nice job breaking it down Drew, and I agree, I don't see a female headliner for this year. Would love if we get some indie artists, maybe Florence and the Machine or Alicia Keys being the highest on the bill. Also would love Mavis Staples, new album is incredible. Gladys Knight still performs and would be a lot of fun. Beyonce or Gaga are probably most likely, but I still think they are unlikely to headline (if that made sense).
