JHOinTN it appears we are not going to be as far away as we thought. They are building this sucker right in the middle of the stadium.
I know! It looks taller than the stadium. And that damn video won't work for me.
I dreamed about this show all night last night. I was stressing about what to wear ??? And we all met up and had pizza beforehand... roofan was there and I gave him an extra ticket I just happened to have.
The Claw is huge; and the video screens will blow you away. When U2 played in (near) DC last year, there wasn't a bad seat in the 80,000+ stadium; Vandy's is half that. Enjoy!

I'm scanning craigslist for a single (and I really don't wanna pay 100 bucks or more) but thought I would put a message in here as well in case somebody knew of anybody with an extra. Thanks ya'll!
Anybody know what time to expect them to actually go on based on their other tour stops? I know the tickets say 7:00 but it isn't really dark until 8:30. Maybe Florence at 7:00/7:15 and then U2 at 9:00...?

Thanks for the invite! I missed Florence's set at Roo, so does anybody have anything positive to say about her show? Is it worth seeing? I assume it is.
AV: I'm personally excited about Florence; I saw her show at Bonnaroo from afar because I knew I'd see her again this weekend. I think she's worth seeing but I'm a bit biased because I have a girl crush on her.
I saw Florence & the Machine / U2 last night in Miami. First off, F&TM were good although they only performed 8 songs. Florence is a real good entertainer and did a nice job working the crowd. The last time I saw U2 was 1987 and I was really looking forward to this show & U2 did not dissappoint . Bono is an amazing performer. The only Person I have ever seen with more charisma is Mick Jagger. The Edge, Larry & Adam are near perfect musicians. The show is such a huge production that it would be impossible for me to describe it here. You have to witness it for yourself. They performed 24 songs and covered every part of their career. Of course they have way too many good songs to perform every one but I was not dissaponted in any way. The show was scheduled to start at 7:30 but F&TM came on around 7:45 (I think). In between Florence & U2 there is some very interesting (& entertaining) info rolling across the screen above the stage. U2 hit the stage around 9:20 (again I think it was) and played until arond 11:45. In my opinion, anyone who is even a so/so fan of U2 will have a great time at this show and big time U2 fans will probably leave the show blown away.
They will serve beer at the show. Hope you like Bud lite. Hit downtown before or after the show. 2nd ave and Broadway will be insane. Yeah we went out around Broadway last night and down the alley and it was surprisingly dead. We hit up a few bars off the street as they all had great live bands going, but overall every bar we spoke to said it was shockingly quiet for a Friday. Not sure where everyone was but I expect tonight to be crazy. Not sure where we aol end up after the U2 drunken madness!
^ YES!!! It was sooooo amazing! Glad you got that vid (and probably many more) - but if I'd realized you were filming right beside me, I would've stopped singing & screaming like a banshee! (yeah, right!)
Holy quack, that show blew my mind. It is now my ultimate, all-time favorite show, EVER. (Sorry, Arcade Fire, y'all just got bumped down a notch!)
Oh, and Lowerdeck: they played plenty from "our" generation! Granted, I would've loved to hear rare gems like "Endless Deep" but we got Rattle & Hum- and Joshua Tree-era tracks, which kinda compensated for not having many early '80s cuts. I know we got "I Will Follow" but not "Gloria" - still, no complaints AT ALL from this very happy (and now very exhausted!) fan.
