It's a bit early for this thread, but we've got our first addition and I'm excited, so here goes. CRYSTAL CASTLES.
That's enough to get me to go as is. Additionally we also know it will be expanded to a 3 day festival this year. What we don't know is where it will be held. Bicentennial park is undergoing renovation to become some kind of museum park. But festival organizers have stated the festival WILL be in downtown Miami... and frankly there's really nowhere else it could work unless they ridiculously scaled down the size of the festival. And after selling out last year I can't imagine that's something they would consider. My dream would be if they would move it out of downtown and into big cypress (langerado grounds) and make it into a camping festival with epic latenights galore. But I just don't see that happening.

Chemical Brothers and Crystal Castles are my top 2 out of 3 electronic acts. Doubt I can go, but it seems like a certainty that I will have to travel to see the Chemical Brothers at some point.

Not too shabby. I fail to understand how chemical bros get billed under both Tiesto and Deadmau5... but whatever they're all headlining. There will be plenty more additions too.
sick lineup so far. if bloody beetroots, girl talk, or ghostland observatory get added i may have to go.
what's this fest like? is it like lolla- concerts during the day, then staying off site for the night(hotel)
Yes. Pretty much. Fest ends by midnight. Then there are afterparties all over town. I hope all the above get added as well. Must see bloody beetroots live. I foolishly missed them last year
Damn, this sounds pretty sweet. Not sure how I feel about it being in Miami, though...Laggy, you'd be a better person to ask--do you like Miami?
I love Miami. But I may be biased, being from here and all.... There's alot of things about Miami that people feel very negatively about. The city can jump from nice high-end safe area to ghetto bum-town just crossing over some streets. Shit is expensive. Expect to pay $8-10 for a beer all over town. And the hotels don't run cheap either... And if you're white, you're a minority. But it's a great party town and the electronic music scene is among the best in the country.

so tonight I've finally had a chance to go through the line-up and check out some of the artists I don't know, and I'm really really surprised how many live bands are playing this year.

Add Pendulum Live set to that list. I think this is the one I'm most excited about. I got to see their DJ set last year (which was pretty awesome) but I've been dying to see them live.
Anyone else shocked at how low sts9 was on this list?
Kind of... I mean at least last year Bisco was way high up, at least in the top 8. sts9 is an equal or greater draw. I can't believe they're not at least in the first row of undercard artists

Minus the absence of Daft Punk or Justice, this is about the best electronic line-up ever. Really wish I could go, but seems highly doubtful unless I win the lottery.
If you haven't checked out Trentemoller before, I recommend his BBC Essential mix, it's extremely chill and good for relaxing along with his album The Last Resort. It borders on ambient, but not completely.

I disagree. This is a pretty sweet lineup, but I really liked Moogfest's lineup for its first year. I'd take that over this lineup. This looks cool, like I said, there's just a little too much electronic music on it that I'm not as interested in.

Moogfest and Ultra are two completely different festivals when you're talking about electronic music
^I would think so, considering Moogfest had a ton of electronic artists on the bill that I liked and this one just has a few.
But they're both electronic festivals, right? That was the comment I was responding to, that this is the best electronic line-up. Not that this and Moogfest are similar.
edit: I was actually hoping to make it to Moogfest last year, but it just didn't work out. I'd also love to go to Ultra, but Coachella is next on my lists of festivals to hit.

I feel like moogfest is more like bands who use synths, while Ultra is primarily a straight up techno-ish festival who has started to include electronic-ish bands in the fold.
Btw I just found this pic and it made me excited:
One thing I can say about Ultra is the production value is extraordinary and they put alot into the show and aesthetics. More so than bonnaroo, I would say. Afterall though, they probably have alot more money for those sorts of things. DJs dont run as expensive as bands

Just bought my tix for Ultra. Really excited about seeing MTRKRFT, Wolfgang Gartner, Deadmau5, Crystal Castles, Boy Noize, and Steve Aoiki again. Are there any other not to miss sets?

I'd have to say add Skrillex to your list. I'm really hoping that I'm able to see him this summer.
