So i got tickets for the Pretty Lights show the night before Ultra on Thursday but now hes playing in my hometown Orlando the next day.. trying to figure out if i wanna go or not any ideas?
Extremely excited to see Pretty Lights at Bonnaroo, never seen him before but I like what I've heard so far. I am assuming that you don't have Ultra tix if you are considering the Friday 25th show. In my professional opinion: go to both sets! The venues are completely different in completely different areas, but within 4 hours of each other. You only live life once (unless you believe in reincarnation, but then you might be a cat in life 2 which are not allowed in the House of Blues). Live life with no regrets! I have missed a few epic shows for lame reasons, but never again! ;D

So.. I remember in the past the schedule usually drops pretty late.. but it's 4 days til the festival now. Where's the schedule? Anybody remember how late they dropped it in past years?

I really wanted to see trentmoller but unfortunately I'll have to miss most of them for Pendulum. I've wanted to see them live for years now. I'm generally happy with the schedule. I was afraid I'd miss STS9 and/or Bisco for conflicts, and I won't And I was really afraid Chem bros, crystal castles, glitch mob, and skrillex would conflict on sunday. There's some conflicts of the aforementioned with skrillex, but I'll get him out of the way saturday (I wasnt expecting 2 sets) Not too shabby

It's on at the same time as Pendulum, but Trentemoller (with live band) is absolutely phenomenal live. I would like to see Pendulum, but odds are more likely they will play in the USA again then Trentemoller who rarely comes here. He was a Roskilde headliner and is hugely underrated here. The chemical Brothers, My Morning Jacket and Radiohead are the only bands I have seen that have a chance for beating it on best show of the year.
Also, good luck on anyone flying getting to Miami with the airport issues going on.

Last night was great. Pendulum kicked all kinds of ass. Caught last 10-15 min of trentmoller and they were great. There was no one there, I walked right up to the stage... guess everyone else wanted the untz untz untz STS9 was great too
This year bicentennial park is a gravel pit though. So much dust and rocks. My feet are killing me and I came home with a really bad 'dirt tan'

Accidently stumbled onto Conspirator first thing at 12 yesterday. And I was like "Holy shit, its the disco biscuits!" I guess conspirator is a side project of theirs. And, for my own personal tastes, they were better than bisco. Hands down the best show I saw so far all weekend, they melted my face off.
And man, the heineken dome is so cool. They have a dome roof that has visualizations projected on it. Check it out

Great weekend. Ultra is lacking in some places but holy fuck do they make up for it with their production value. The lighting/visuals/stage production at each stage is phenomenal. Please excuse the completely horrible audio, but take a look at Glitch Mob playing the "Tower of Ultra" stage

thanx for putting these up, laggy. Glad you had a blast. How hard do you think it would be to get that dome at the farm? they could replace the lunar stage with it lol...
That was one of the highlights of the weekend for me. Watch it in 720p for better quality.
Overall I was disappointed with Ultra, but I was very impressed with the production/lights/visuals. I thought there were WAY too many people there. Yes I know it's a rave, but you seriously couldn't move ANYWHERE. Instead of grass and dirt to walk on, you get rocks and concrete...and little to no places to sit. On top of that, there are no water fountains and very few places to get water, and at $5 a bottle. It's inhumane. You can bring a pound of molly in and they won't say a word but if you try to sneak in a bottle of water they make you throw it out. I felt like cattle being herded at this place. Ultra made me really appreciate Bonnaroo and the reasonable prices of food and the free water stations. Bonnaroo just really seems like it cares more for its customers instead of doing everything they can to make a buck.
Additionally, for me a lot of what makes the experience at these festivals are the people. The people at this festival were a bunch of high schoolers and freak shows that reeked of BO and were tweaked out of their minds. I expected to make some friends but I had no desire to meet any of these people. It made me yearn for Bonnaroo even more.
I won't be going back to Ultra, but i'm glad I had the experience.

I agree with you about a great majority of the crowd. Bonnaroo is more music lovers, people who go to Ultra usually don't know half the DJs they're seeing they just want to party.
I don't think it was way too overcrowded, I was always able to find space to dance if that's what I wanted to do. Also all the crowds were at the Main stage and Carl cox, which is where I was least. Most of the time the live stage and tower of ultra weren't too crowded, and I was able to walk right up front in the middle of a show.
I also agree with you regarding the water situation.... that shouldn't even be legal. I don't know how they get away with it. Over the weekend I spent probably close to $100 on water alone. If I didn't have any money I could've honestly passed out or died from hydration.
But for me it was all worth it. I saw some amazing DJ's, Artists and Bands, all accompanied by amazing visuals, and I danced my ass off and had a blast. As long as they're keeping it in Miami I will be back next year.

Tough call for me. I guess it's between Conspirator and Glitch Mob. Conspirator was great just because it was a huge surprise and there was a crowd of honestly less than 50 people (the gates had just opened), and I felt like I just got got my socks rocked off in an exclusive disco biscuits performance. It was all the best parts of the disco biscuits without the worse parts (ahem*vocals*ahem). And they played deeper dirtier heavier beats and music. Glitch Mob, well they just kicked all kinds of ass. And the Tower of Ultra at night just made their show that much more epic

I've always been a staunch defender of Crystal Castle's live shows. Their show at 09 at Bonnaroo was among my favorite of the weekend. People always criticize them for sounding bad live, and I've always conceded that while there's some truth to that, their stage presence and the ridiculous amount of energy they pulse into the crowd made up for it tenfold, and that they were overall an amazing live show.
But..well..I wasn't feeling it this time. Alice broke her ankle and was wearing a brace onstage, and while she still did quite alot of jumping and whatnot (you gotta hand it to her for that at least), she couldn't go all out like she normally did. Also this was the most tame crowd I've ever been in for a crystal castles show. All other 3 times I saw them the crowd around me was going nuts. These guys were just standing around, maybe ocassionally dancing half assed. But I was very dissapointed. I now wish I had left early to catch the beginning of glitch mob's set.

I missed !!! unfortunately because I overslept Sunday morning and they played at 1 pm. Was pretty dissapointed but my energy ran thin that day, I don't know if I would've made it 11 hours on the last day.
Chemical Brothers were really great, and no question the best headliner. Their show was really cool, I was just a bit too worn out by the time they played. I hate that they scheduled everyone I wanted to see most on sunday
