Almost certainly. Only thing that would keep me away is work. June and july is our busiest time of year. I work for a very small business and when anybody is missing it kind of screws everyone else over. But I managed to get off last year and I'm already trying to weasel my way into getting off this year, so I think I'll be there.
Ultra is a beast of it's own, but it's a completely different experience than bonnaroo. Bonnaroo >>>>>Ultra

Yeah? I'm assuming it would be different from Ultra. 3 days this year should be interesting though. And funny, your lists of concerts looks almost identical to mine! Haha. But I was just wondering since it's my first time going up to 'roo and I wanted to know what the whole process was for a fellow SFloridan ! I want to start getting everything ready for roo NOW.

south florida just had an epic amazing concert season. But yeah, if Ultra is your only festival experience you'll find Bonnaroo totally different than ultra. When you're at Ultra, you're in the city, then you leave and go back to your place or hotel or whatever, and it's back to the real world. The camping really gives bonnaroo a totally different vibe and experience. Since you never leave the grounds it's like being in another reality for 4 whole days. Plus the people are way friendlier, and there's just this air of complete freedom that I don't find at Ultra. Lots more hippies, and way less ravers too :-P

YES!!! the fall was great for concerts! Maybe that's what hyped me up for 'roo more than ever this year, more music! lol I got my early birds for Ultra despite not even knowing who would go cuz of the whole wmc vs umf drama. So for bonnaroo camping is a MUST? I'm really contemplating going VIP but I'm waiting for the line-up (which is hopefully worth it because it's an anniversary year.) lol more hippies less ravers? sounds appealing!

camping is highly recommended. If I had extra money to blow for better accommodations, I'd spring for an RV in general camping rather than go VIP. VIP is cool but the perks don't seem to justify the extra cost for me. Basically the thing that sucks about camping is the heat and getting woken up too early from the sound and heat. RV would take care of that, and you're still within the campgrounds

Hey, my friends and I are considering Ultra (this would be our first time in miami). We were wondering if anyone has any suggestions for reasonably priced places to stay?
Camping is where it is at! You make friends and live in a beautiful place for four magical days. 4th year vet...never done vip. Maybe when I'm older.

Most of the hotels I checked out that were within 2 miles of Ultra were around $300 a night or more. I booked the River Park hotel for $178 a night, it's 1 mile from Bicentennial Park so that will save on cab fare. I stayed on South Beach for Ultra 2009 and cab fare was $30 each way. I can tell you do not stay at the Atlantic Beach Hotel on South Beach, total dump, the ceiling above the toilet was leaking (not even sure if it was just water), had the put a towel over my head to use the potty- yuck.

Not gonna lie.. hotels down here are gonna run you way more than the cost of the festival... it's the downfall of city festivals... If I didnt live down here (or have somewhere to stay) it admittedly wouldn't be worth it. As far as transport, miami has decent transportation system. there are buses that run between miami beach and downtown miami 24 hours. I've yet to use them personally but planning on it in the near future. Better than blowing $20-30 each way on a cab.

Oh yeah.. by the way... Some Ultra Updates. STS9 cancelled Moby was added. Phase 2 comes out later this week. I'm really hoping for some more quality dubstep and DnB (which there always is in round 2). I'm also really hoping they find a replacement for the jamtronica spot lost from STS9. Bisco again would be cool, or EOTO.

Definitely did NOT see Duran duran coming.. some initial thoughts... Only additions I'm initially excited about are Disco Biscuits, Skream/Benga + Glitch Mob. But looking at the tentative stage setup it looks like I have some serious conflicts...Like sunday Chem bros ...vs crystal castles vs glitch mob? That is going to make my head explode. I've seen Glitch mob twice and Crystal castles 3x, and Chem bros zero... but I f'n love Crystal castles.... looks like I'll have the split my time up
Also, it says Phase 3 coming soon. More additions to an already ridiculously stacked lineup

Listening to Benni Benassi right now and I'm impressed, he sounds like a not to miss set also his "who's your daddy" video is pretty hot. Check out his Myspace lots of different stuff. Also Fedde Le Grand is main stage on Fri and Carl Cox on Sat, gotta see him at least once. As for forcing me to choose between Crystal Castles and Chem Bros, that's gonna be tough (love CC but never had the opportunity to see Chem Bos). If the line up is time-accurate, I also have to choose between Deadmau5 (who has always put on a fantastic show) and Rusko (never seen but love his sound and videos). Hopefully the Bonnaroo lineup will be up soon, that could help with decisions. I was surprised with how many electro/techno artists are at Coachella this year maybe Bonnaroo will follow.
I'll agree with Underworld being probably the best add possible. They headlined two years ago I think - weird to see them under deadmau5, but I guess their newest album wasn't as well received (I still enjoyed most of it, whatever).... I'd love to hear Born Slippy, Moaner, Eight ball, Always Loved a Film,Two Months Off, Between Stars, etc... live
This will be the first time deadmau5 has the cube at Ultra - last year I heard his show with Tommy Lee was kinda subpar compared to now (or what we saw at Ultra). He really killed it at Voodoo, though.
Definitely getting early-birds to this next year. Always wanted to go, and finally no school next spring semester - gonna go to Ultra and Coachella for the first time each.

Agreed with the purdy lights, his Bonnaroo set last year was ridiculous! His new EP 4+4=12 is his best yet, in my opinion. I'm sure he will have the cube at Ultra. I know Bonnaroo gives headliners open slots with no competition. I'm assuming that Ultra still has all of the stages and tents going even when the headliners hit the main stage?
Coming from Toronto and strongly considering heading down to MIA for this. The website for the fest is useless. I have no idea what party of Miami it is. So what neighbourhood should I be looking for hotels/hostels in???
