Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I grew up worshipping Rock and Roll like a religion. I know its shortcomings and strengths but have loved it unconditionally all the same since I was eight-years old. I ran away and joined the circus and honestly, I'm still as obsessed as I was as a boy. I'm not a kid anymore but I still remember how it felt and it doesn't really feel all that different to me now.
It would be really god damn stupid of people to throw bags of poo at Kanye West.
Seriously. We make fun of the Gathering of the Juggalos for throwing rocks at Tila Tequila; this is just as bad.
Really if you had a choice and someone said I am going to hit you in the face with horse poo, or this 32oz rock you would say "It does not matter to me they are equally bad"?
Plus Kanye deserves ta get covered in the poo of people who waited hours ta see his lackluster performance from 2008. Maybe then he'd be humbled enough to apologize?
I still love how Pearl Jam goes an hour over their set and their crew won't let Kanye's set up until after their's is taken down but it's Kanye's fault for being late....
I doubt he'd do a solo set but maybe the Jay-Z/Kanye set could happen (The album is called Watch The Throne and had me thinking they were clue #4). He did put some of the anti-Kanye stuff Roo in his book for that tour so it's not like he's blocking Bonnaroo out of his memory
Zuma are you aware that Kanye was in Atlanta at a party for Young Jeezy at the time? That he had delayed the set twice before Pearl Jam played a note? Pearl Jam playing a long set had nothing to do with his delay. Add that BS to his utter disregard for more experienced musicians and you get F UCK Kanye all over the farm.
I don't know if he's just a Diva or he has some other issues but the year he returns is the year I'll know AC stopped caring about their attendees.
He delayed his set the first time b/c at 8pm the sun is still up and it's a glow in the dark set. Don't know how going 1 HOUR over your set doesn't effect the artist after you????? Not to mention not letting the next artist set up until your set is cleared. Especially if they have an elaborate set. But I guess haters are going to hate. And does it matter if Kanye went to the ATL during that time? His set wasn't going to be built anytime sooner if he stayed. It's unfortunate but don't see it as a disrespect to Bonnaroo.
I was in the pit at that show in '08. I will never forget the boos (and that guy who threw a bottle and cracked the screen!). Still, if he were there I would probably would go see him. Bonnaroo would be wise to get him, if only to raise sales.
It's not like that performance even dented kanye's rep as an artist, at least not from what I hear of him these days, so at some point we all have to get over it. Chances are good I would not see him for long if there were any decent conflicts.

See that and all the broken bottles on the stage to would explain why whatever remnants of a set he did end up doing wasn't that good.

I think it gave more fuel for the many that hate Kanye. I never went to Bonnaroo in 08 but I went to Lolla and the amount of hate carried over from Roo was crazy. He played against NiN and there was tons of Kanye sucks talk, shirts and signs.
Kanye is polarising artist so there will always be extreme hate and love. That's kinda what happens when you reach that level of success and become a calculated artist that likes to push buttons. I try to focus on the art and not the artist, since in reality most artists have some crazy stuff in their private lives,
Kanye's behavior at Roo'08 show was unacceptable. I am definitely a supporter of that. The Bonnaroo fanbase still has alot of anger over that issue, and it will be probably be that way for a long time (there's just no way he can erase those chants...at this point its basically legend)
But thanks to the video uploaded(Peacelove&deathmetal, good job), check on page 1 of discussion. I actually realized something I didn't expect, I liked it. Shocking thought. Although the thirty minute film can get a little full of itself, it displayed some really good tracks. The opening track, for instance, had my head nodding to the beat the whole way (its a sick track) along with the classic "Through the Wire", he's got some of my respect for him as a musician. Which goes to show why he's sold alot of albums and is part of the lineup that included a sold out Coachella this year.( BTW 51k is sellout in Coachella, Bonnaroo gets like 60-80k. )
BUT!!! To those who think Kanye should come back to the farm because of those sales, give me a break. He's not the end all, be all, no one should feed into that. It's a discredit to other rappers that are currently performing that are still way better than Kanye. Like if 'Roo could book Dre with the crew on The Chronic that would kill. Eminem hasn't played, he would kill it. Or a much anticipated reunion of Outkast, they would kill it. So give him some respect and a little less hate. But still shout F** Kanye.
P.S I don't propose throwing stones or flinging poo at him cuz its only funny in theory. Illegal in reality. But if I ever see him at a show I will definitely through some frozen fish sticks at the stage.

What behaviour? Ppl are acting like he pulled a MF Doom www.theboombox.com/2010/02/15/mf-doom-disappoints-chicago-crowd-with-another-imposter/ or intentally put on a show at 4:30 b/c of his ego (Despite plenty of evidence pointing towards the time to build his set). Ppl don't want him back b/c of sales, they want him back b/c he's got amazing music and how about being able to put on a great show that he wasn't able to do before.
And Dr Dre? I don't think he's preformed live since the Up in Smoke tour and was never a great or even good rapper to begin with. Eminem? No thanks. Good rapper but he hasn't made great music since the early 00's. And please no Lil Wayne, don't hate him but I've heard he's horrible live, has walked off many stages b/c of being hit with a bottle. Outkast or just Big Boi, A Tribe Called Quest, (the already confirmed) Black Star, The Roots, Ghostface and maybe a dew other wu members, Beastie Boys, De La Soul, Common (If he doesn't play anything off his last album), Flying Lotus, The Pharcyde, Del tha Funkee Homosapien or Deltron 3030, Cunninlynguists, Edan, KRS-1, Madlib or any of his off-shoots and maybe even Madvillain (But if he pulls his villain routine and brings out ppl will cry for decades if they're still upset at Kanye), Wale and few others I'm sure I forgot would not only be great hip hop but would work well with a Bonnaroo crowd. Nas, Jay-z & Jay Electronica was a great combo to have last year. Hopefully this year will try to outdo.

You're fighting a losing battle here. blaming Pearl Jam after they put on a spectacular show really isn't helping your case either.
Kanye deserves no defense. He was almost 2 and a half hours late for his set, got on and played one song for his "glow in the dark tour" before the sun came up, and played for about 45 minutes without acknowledging the crowd or his tardiness. Not to mention, he had Phil's set cut short.
Kanye pissed a lot of people off. AC/Superfly would be better off spending the money on someone who deserves and is worth it, and Kanye isn't.
Cunninlynguists have quietly been putting out some of the best hip hop of the last while. Given a platform like Bonnaroo they'd have a lot more converts singing the same praises. For everyone who likes Outkast's Aquimini should do themselves a favour and get Cunninlynguists' "A Piece of Strange"
Also Immortal Technique, Pharoahe Munch, Blu, Dead Prez (Doubt they'd play), Blackalicious, Black Milk & the reformed Goodie Mob would be great adds too.
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
We really should just put a moratorium on any Kanye threads/posts unless he happens to be announced as playing. The whole thing is a stalemate - there are some people who feel that he sullied the virtue of Bonnaroo, and that he's worse than Hitler, and won't ever change that opinion, and there are some people who basically don't care if he's an egomaniac and enjoy his music, and don't hold him to some arbitrary moral standard just because he's a musician. These things won't change, and debating them ad nauseum is exhausting.
Regardless of your stance, everyone should agree with this post.
