A user wrote to info@bonnaroo.com about campsite size and got this response:
"You can take as big of a space as you need in VIP camping. Typically we will say 10x10, but if you need more room, there is plenty of it! Let us know if you have additional questions."
This will be my 4th VIP roo and it has always been spray painted rectangles of about 15'x30'.
This may explain why VIP sold out with such a sub-par lineup? I really doubt this though, and expect to have the same painted lines this year.
What do you think they will say about me camping in the VIP RV area with a tiny Toyota Prius and no RV? I had to buy tickets (like an idiot) on StubHub, and they didn't come with the parking pass. Imagine my panic when the stuff arrived and I realized... The only item not sold out at this time was the VIP RV Parking upgrade for $250, so I grabbed that.
I will ask to camp in the VIP camping area, but if they say no I'll go choke on diesel smoke in the RV section. Not about to miss my first Roo in 6 years!
I hate to break your heart, but the RV pass will not get you into VIP without the VIP Hang Tag. You need to call Stubhub and tell them you didn't get the full order, their ad on their site says that the parking tag is included.
First time VIP'er here. I am driving in overnight from Maryland(added 2 hours to my drive to see Mumford in Maryland) and I am wondering what time the VIP dinner and stuff is? I should be in camp by 11-11:30am. I am gonna want to sleep the afternoon away but dont want to miss out on VIP perks
PM me your phone number. I will call you and wake your @ss up.
It's usually around 7PM. But go early. They start the feeding trough before they say they do. And you DON'T want to miss out on that cream corn.
Glad to hear you all stuck to your guns last year. That really is an absolutely absurd policy. I'd be raising hell if I paid for two VIP parking passes and they tried to only give me one. Keep doing it, maybe they'll eventually realize the policy needs to change.
We didn't have issues with space. We arrived early and they wanted to put us on the outside fence, furthest from everything. So Bunny told them where she wanted to go, and we all followed We had no issues with space - in fact I think we ended up not using all of our spots.
ellabelle car took up an entire "camping space" to itself, aside from the idiots who came in next to us and parked all weird and shit lol
Quick noob question and don't know if its been answered already or not, but are the showers in VIP free or do we still have to pay for them? Trying to decide if I wanna purchase a solar shower or not.
Shower are free, but they are vile, full of dirty band aids, etc. I am bringing a solar shower again this year. I got a hideous eye infection from the showers last year, just from the water that splashed off the dirty walls and shower curtain.
Is there a way for VIPs to get a good spot at the tents? I'd like to get a good spot for RTJ, but also want to see Kendrick. I may leave Kendrick early if he plays the same set he played at Sasquatch.

Scan through this thread, as it has a lot of information on that.
There are no VIP viewing areas/pits in the tents. The areas separated from GA are actually for RLARS (Roll like a Rockstar) ticketholders.
VIP have access to a VIP Which pit and The Hill at What Stage.

Officially there are no special sections for VIPs at tents, only RLAR. Some in the past have reported getting access to these areas with their VIP wristbands, but these reports are rare and probably the result of the staff at the section making a mistake. Can't hurt to try and get in these sections but I wouldn't count on it.

That's unfortunate. Other than the rare occasional cold shower (has only happened twice), I have no complaints and therefore anticipate taking a free daily shower as a result.

I'm pretty sure artist passes can get in that area as well. It is atleast worth trying to get in with a VIP. What do u have to lose? Them telling u no...
I had good success in 2 of the 3 tents in 2013. As previously stated, we are not suppose to get in those areas. However, I am pretty sure that the security guys working are only looking for the GA wristband color, and that is how we slide by.
And wow, you're like a walking, talking infomercial to turn people away from Pearl Jam and Ohio State, aren't you? Before you started posting here I quite liked Pearl Jam and was indifferent towards OSU, now I find myself wishing that Eddie Vedder falls down a mine shaft or that Columbus is infested with locusts
Question We have VIP Tickets and VIP RV Pass now our suv broke down so were taking our camping stuff. Saw they have a section for bigger vehicles near the VIP RV section is this allowed since we already purchased the VIP RV PASS?
Looks like there are 2 more sections in the VIP Campgrounds. VIP G and H.
This could mean that this year the campsites are larger, more spread out, therefore more sections needed to be added
With that said, I hope I'm lucky enough to not have to camp next to the smelly RVs...
Wow, I really hope you are right that we have larger campsites. That would really be a great bonus this year! We are planning on getting there at 7 am Thursday so I hope that we don't end up near the smelly RVs either. Maybe that will be the overflow for the late arrivals. I know in the past it seemed like the area close to the gate along the bathrooms/showers would get a little flooded/muddy.

I hate to worry you, but when i was having trouble finding a single VIP ticket and a parking pass I called and was told that, one: buying the RV pass wasn't enough to get me into VIP camping and two: that they wouldn't let me park in a VIP RV spot with just my car. For the record the girl i was talking to seemed pretty clueless though, and kept having to put me on hold to check with other people for the answers to my questions. I would do what Girion47 said and call Stubhub and have them sort it out if possible.
Critical Which pit question: I plan on attending both Gary Clark Jr. and Childish Gambino. Also, I estimate that the 3rd period of the Blackhawks game will be between these two sets. As such, I would like to go watch the 3rd period between sets. So, do you think that I would be able to get into the VIP viewing area for Gambino right as his set starts?

VIP absolutely, its a huge area that never fills up. You won't be able to get like right up on the rail near the stage since the pit narrows significantly the closer to the stage it gets, but you'll be able to get in and have a good view.
gambino does have a shitload of adds on bonnaroo.com but I think you'll be fine.

I dont think you will have a problem getting back into the VIP viewing area again after you left. I'm going to be doing something similar. Might watch the game in VIP area or stroll over to Kalliope. Have to win tomorrow. Cant go to the farm down 3-1!

The only time I couldn't get into VIP Which area was during Ed Sharpe in 2013 because of a T-storm that was blowing in. They wanted us to be safe or something. I dunno, GA wasn't being evacuated and Ed Sharpe kept playing, people were pretty pissed
We have a group of 4. We are leaving from Knoxville at 8 eastern 7 central. One person in our group has a class and won't be free until 10-11 to head to Manchester. We want a decent spot so would it be wise/possible to have him park in day parking for the weekend and just walk to the VIP campground to meet up with us when he gets there? We would pick up his stuff on the way.

Last year there seemed to more than enough room in VIP, and people who arrived later than us on Thursday were getting much better spots. I think you should be fine!

But all 4 of us would like to camp together and 2 of the 4 of us want to get set up as early as possible.

I'm not sure if they will let you save room for others.

I know, that is why I was asking if that was the best plan. We have two VIP parking passes. Three of us could go up early, he could come up Thursday afternoon and just park in day parking.

Sorry I didn't understand that. Yeah if you have the 2 VIP parking passes and 2 vehicles, then you will be fine - there is more than enough space for you. Day parking is not very far from VIP and I don't think they care if you leave your car there. I am pretty sure no one monitors the day parking area.
