One of the advertised perks of VIP is the ability to skip the massive lines on Thursday when trying to enter the campground.
My question is: just how do you do skip those lines? I've been coming from Nashville the last four years, and once I get anywhere near Manchester, all the highway exits are closed off. Is there some sort of secret code or something you give to the cops to get them to let you off? Do you take a secret side road? The mystery is consuming me!
When you get your VIP tickets they seriously give you a secret map to a VIP entrance. It took us about twenty minutes to get from the car dealership down the road where we met to our campsite.

Hooray for this thread!! My gf and I are planning to go vip this year, but we missed pre-sale Does anyone have any idea when the vip pkg will go on sale again and if the payment plan option will still be available? I'm worried that I might miss out considering how fast pre-sale went and panic is starting to set in!!
They will go on sale when the GA tickets go on sale. They will likely still have payment plans. They will not sell out as quickly as GA if either do at all.
I don't think VIP will sell out all that quickly - if at all. There were a ton of open areas in VIP last year. Sales likely are driven by the top of the lineup. There seemed to be a ton more people in VIP when Springsteen played.

You get off I-24 about 10 miles from Manchester so you miss all the lines. VIP enterance is close to walymart. There are cops there to make sure you are vip. 15 to 45 minutes to get to your spot from there.
Thanks again to everyone who has been answering questions!
I feel one of the biggest perks of VIP would be the alternate entrance into Centeroo. Is there only one? Where is it/where are they? Are they always open? Any hassles?
There's just one entrance, so there's never really a long line. Hassle wise, they go through your car, cooler, etc. looking for glass and things, but it's not an overly long, intrusive inspection. The ease with which you get in is one of the perks you're paying for, in my opinion.

(Edited to reduce confusion:) VIP entrance by arch open 24 hrs. In my previous experiences in 08 + 09, some VIP gate attendants give a quick pat your pockets but most just wave you in. Be creative in your hiding spots and you will have no problems. Most attendants were really cool but some seemed to be checking pockets to supplement their weekend supplies. Bags were always checked but they mostly were just looking for people sneaking booze in. Very short lines to get into centeroo.
In 09 there was an entrance to centeroo that was also an exit. My friend that went in 10 said you enter from VIP entrance and exit through main exit and get back to vip through a gate just past the arch like in the picture. VIP entrance open 24 hrs. In 2010 you could enter and exit through the VIP gate. They didn't make you go around, although you could if you wanted to.
You never have to enter the GA area if you don't want to. The VIP entrance by the arch is open 24/7. The one by What Stage is not always open. Neither are one way, you can enter and exit.
Bottom line is this IMHO: the extra cost for VIP is for:
easy quick entry on Thursday decent showers and REALLY nice "bathrooms" close proximity to Centeroo
the other stuff like the A/C lounges are a bonus. Last year the A/C VIP lounge was PACKED pretty much all the time ( it was freakin' HOT!). lots of people would bring pillows blankets etc and sleep there.
I've done VIP the last 2 years and will do it this year. I camped with about 30 infooers last year and it was epic! What a great bunch of freaks!
Oh also, all things considered I feel your campsite in VIP is way safer than GA in terms of thieves.
any other questions, just ask! See you all in June!
ALSO I was wondering about picking friends up from the airport. If we have VIP tickets and they have VIP tickets but are riding in our car, do we still get 2 campsites. Because if not it's going to be hard to get our tents on 1 site!
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!
I'm still contemplating Total Access but since I plan to buy a new car soon, it's probably smarter to go VIP...totally depends on the lineup though. I'll keep y'all posted, fo sho!
This will be 'roo experience number 5 and since I'm old now, I figured it's time to pay up for VIP for the wifey and I. Does anyone know how much the VIP package will cost approximately?
Are there any tent-to-tent salespeople in VIP? In GA camping, I've purchased some fine goods from those traveling salesfolk. Nothing worse than when you're walking around in vain because you can't find what you want to purchase!

Some but it's not as frequent. I saw a girl sneak in from GA last year, they chased her but she got away. About fifteen minutes later she's walking through our camp sharing her goods. I probably had two or three people come by over the course of the weekend although I wasn't at camp much.

Do you exit on Sunday/Monday the same way you get into VIP? I've been stuck in lines trying to get out of GA for 3-4 hours - is the "leaving" part any faster when you're in VIP?

Well yes and no ???
We have been to Bonnaroo five times and all of them were in VIP..
But in 2007 they made us leave from the VIP campground through the general admission campgrounds ...Oh my.. what a disaster. It took us several hours to get out to I-24 and get going.
From memory (and asking my Wife) this was the only year that they made us do that ..

In 09 nwe had to go through GA, last year we went out the same way we came in. It was way easier
Well now.. onsite RV's.. We had a horrible, incredibly expensive Cluster Quack last year. Much of us our fault, but not all. Started as 2 with an onsite rv rental. Rental for onsite RV was 3K plus the tickets. Ended up as Penguin, party of 8, with an RV to get us all there plus the onsite. The rental RV, as tired as it was, much better than the onsite rv in Gen Ad. FEMA trailers.. No water until sunday despite following up with every one we could find and promises twice a day that water was coming. Beware that Broo does not rent the trailers- different comp so we were told. But Broo does the water and power. If anything goes wrong good luck finding help since mult companies are involved. So... Holes in the floor, no linens, missing bed parts (dinette converting to bed - no board/ no bed..) not clean when we got there etc etc. By not clean i mean old spills on the floor and ants eveywhere when we walked in. If tenting you should expect bugs.. when paying a ton for the 'luxury', not good. The only upside was the location near centerroo. Our block of trailers ran out of fuel for the generator sat night until sunday mid day, so no AC.. Sleeps 6 means 2 adults and a few more people less than 4 ft in height in the bunk beds (not joking). Just not a good experience with the onsite Rv. We ended up using the location for the day time outside gathering and slept in the rv we brought at night. Not again for us. We are picking up a really nice rv out of KY this time - sleeps 8 - for the cost of 2 VP tickets this time around. Sent follow up emails to Broo about all this, with documentation... no response. Hopefully someone that was in VIP onsites or had a better GA experience can be more postive. I hate to speak ill of Roo. Suggest you do plenty of homework before investing in an onsite RV in Gen ad.

Yes they give you a map to a secret entrance when you get your VIP tickets.
I showed up at the 'tollbooth' around 5:45 last year on Thursday. Had all of a 5 minute wait to get into VIP. The 'secret entrance' has been the same spot for years, down the road by the car dealership across from Walmart. You had to show your tickets as you're turning onto the road and periodically as you're driving down it, but from there on it was smooth sailing with NO traffic.
I was setting up camp by 6:00, thankfully my InfoRoo family was able to save me a spot. That's another perk of VIP, the marked, defined spots. It makes it much easier to save room for latecomers.

There's two exits/entrances near the arch. One takes you directly into Centeroo, at the back corner of the What stage field. The other one takes you to directly to GA, near the ice truck. That's where I get my ice each and every morning. We also usually walk out that way a few times to check out the long line of vendors.
