Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I believe you give Stubhub/Roo a list of your top 5 shows you want to see and they will try to accommodate you seeing one of those shows from the pit/side. From what I could gather, it's just one show you get to see this way per ticket. Other than that, I don't think there is any difference between "normal" VIP and the Stubhub packages.
VIPs take a different exit than the rest of 'Roo traffic.
Directions are on the insert with your package. As long as you have your red VIP parking pass hanging from your mirror, they'll let you onto that exit. That one piece of paper will make you smile as much as an Uncle Sam refund check, if not more, when you see how many miles of traffic you sail by! ;D
just got my VIP package in the mail and there is a flyer in there that says "VIP DOES NOT OPEN UNTIL 8AM THURSDAY MORNING--do not come early. you will be turned away!" so...i was under the impression we were allowed in on wednesday??
ya this is kind of a bust rule.....for VIPs who pay pretty much triple...(yes by choice).........If VIP's wanted to come early and maybe stay in there car or something.....It should be allowed....Kind of ridiculous.....even though it doesnt affect me.....:/
@mlg: the only differences from '10 to '11 that I can remember were more bathrooms on the perimeter between the center of VIP & the What Stage wall and a larger VIP tent between Which Stage & Comedy Tent.
One thing that didn't change? Grouchy parking commandants who desperately needed more bran in their diets.
Hopefully the parking issue is resolved this year since they're supposed to allow us to park in a designated space. That should eliminate the headache of choreographing a fleet of 30+ VIP vehicles. (*should* being the operative word!)

dumb question but... we don't get to cut normal lines in centeroo right? (like water stations, ferris wheel, water slide, etc.)
also just to make sure.. the VIP viewing for the Which and What Stages aren't necessarily the closest you can get, just closed off and elevated (the hill, and bleachers) for better viewing..? are there VIP areas for the other stages?

No. That would be rude.

Correct. You can get closer to the Which and What stage via the pit. VIP does not get you into the pit. Patience (my strategy) or money will.
There is no VIP area at the other stages. However, I have heard of some getting over to the side of the stage with their VIP wristband.

Pretty please, any info would be awesome, We are 8 first time VIP's, we have an RV, but only 4 are sleepoing in it, and the other 4 not looking for a carbon monoxide snack, can we secure a spot in the camping section of VIP? Thanks
First-timers? Welcome! You're in for a great time!
RVs are parked in a separate area from the camping section of VIP. The others in your party are welcome to pitch a tent with us! If they have a car and want to meet up with us and drive into the farm together, that's great. If they want to camp separately, that's fine too! Just send me a PM if you have any specific questions. I'm happy to help any way I can.
In the past, they kinda limit the outside camping space available to RVs-- and they strictly limit companion vehicles coming in alongside. You might be able to pitch a small tent or two, but you guys should stay heads-up about generator exhaust if you're sleeping outside in the RV area.
Likely, nothing tragic will happen. It marginally depends on the weather pattern then, and whether there's a sweet Canadian air-flow, or just choking 87-degree 3AM heat as per usual. Anyone who claims to know the answer more than 3 days in advance is Wooking.
But I've also seen a big, stalled cloud of brute toxins hang over those grounds before. Myself, I'd be totally content sleeping in a cot or hammock directly alongside the RV as long as:
1) Security allows it 2) There's an awning. E-Z Up, or newspaper over my head 3) I can see at least a slight wind rattling n the trees

I appreciate you guys knowledge, and your help. This is my 7th roo, and we mastered the GA camping, but age and wisdom has caught up and we are now goin VIP only from here on out. I am not goin to camp next to RV, you guys are right, tooo risky, I just hope the parking police/volunteers allow us to claim a spot in the camping area without a car. Any how, thanks again, see you guys Thursday 8 am.

You guys can totally grab some ground in Tent-Only camping if you double-time it over there with your gear THU morn. Good news is that it's very close to the arch, so it shouldn't be far at all from where your RV is set up in VIP. Better news is that there'll be a whole bunch of Inforoo folk camping there, so chances are good you'll have some awesome neighbors! Only potentially bad news is that that area has a tendency to fill up pretty quickly.
Have a safe trip down from Jersey. Hoping your whole group has a blast this year!

New here :-)!!
Does anyone know the exact dimensions of the VIP camping spots. This will be my 1st year and I don't want to buy a tent, get there and not have enough room to set up my tent/EZup and park my civic.
Also I won't be able to get there until around 7-8pm thurs do you think I will end up in the back close to the RVs?

I don't know the exact dimensions, but last year we were able to park my Cube, set up a 10 x 10 EZ up, run a long tarp from the EZ up across the Cube to create more shade and then set up a 6-person tent - all in our allotted space. You should be fine with what you need, space wise.

Does getting to VIP early, around 8 am mean your going to be parked all the way in the back, Like they do with people getting there first for GA? We are planning on being there around 8 or 8:30 am and just wondered how it would work for us coming in that early.. I have heard they keep the front rows of VIP open for people that don't get in until later on Thursday night...I hate the idea of paying so much for our tickets and still being in the very back .. Just wondering, sorry if the questions been asked before somewhere else !!!

There is no real bad spot in VIP. All are a very quick walk to center roo and fairly close to bathrooms/showers.

Thank You! I had gotten used to GA Tent only and all the hard work that comes with a good spot! I guess it is just the unknown that is KILLING ME RIGHT NOW!!!! I don't know what to expect!!!! ...
MLG: an 8 a.m. arrival *COULD* put you farther in the back of the VIP field, which is closest to the What Stage. Or, if they direct traffic the other way, you could be the farthest from the What Stage wall, which would be closest to the VIP tents. Either way, you're close to the action.
My group usually rolls onto the Farm around 10am Thursday, and we are consistently in/near the middle. Hope this helps!

It has always been a HURRY UP and get there thing. With VIP you have a space no matter what or where you are in VIP!!!!! It's like an old toy that is suddenly new all over again and this time it has sharp edges !!
VIP takes Exit 114. It is blocked off to ALL INCOMING TRAFFIC EXCEPT VIPs and locals. You *MUST* have your VIP parking pass visible on your dashboard to gain access. There will be at least 2 (possibly 3 or more) TN State Troopers there guarding the exit. Once they see you are VIP, you are waved through like royalty.
From there, you take a few back roads (through a residential area) to the Farm. I'll provide more info at the meetup (stay tuned; still waiting for confirmation about the location). However, if you can't meetup and roll in with us, 'sOK! Just follow the directions on your VIP package. It will tell you everything you need to know.
First, good to be back...and to be coming back. This will be my ninth Roo. Missed last year, did VIP in 2008-2010, missed 2007, 2003-2006 BFE, and 2002 right where VIP is now, but without the extra $1000 or so charges.
Second, thanks to Holls, whom I've not met, but whose posts have been so helpful for so many.
Third, as far as arrival and placement, our experience (my son George and I) has been akin to Holls--rolling in about 10 on Thursday is just about ideal. Our first year of VIP we were there at 7:00 and wound up waiting in line until about 9:00 to get cleared. The last two times we came in about 10 and no lines to speak of, good-to-great placement (and there is no bad placement there), and fully set up well before noon.
Can't wait. We roll from SC to around Dalton GA on Wednesday night so we are all fresh after the last couple of hours of travel Thursday morning.
Will there be any problems trying to find a spot to pitch a tent arriving in the VIP tent section on Friday afternoon (work sucks)? Seems like it fills up rather quickly.
Missed this year and going VIP (finally!) next year. How was the experience for y'all this year? Any significant changes/perks? I have to let myself get excited already or I'll go crazy from waiting!

Hi! Just finished my first roo experience and had a great time! I was really overwhelmed by the sheer number of people in GA so I'm definitely thinking about VIP for next year. I have a question about VIP viewing areas... are there any special areas at the tents? This year, my friends and I had waited quite a while to get front and center for Fitz & the Tantrums, but right before the show my friend fainted (who goes on an extreme diet for Bonnaroo, dumb dumb). Anyway, since we were up so close the security guys had to hoist all of us over the railings. They let us sit in this private area side-stage for the whole show, which was AWESOME. There were about 20 other people there, and someone came by with a beer and water cooler for everyone. I guess what I'm asking is is this a normal VIP area? Or did we stumble into the roll like a rockstar area? Whatever it is, I'll pay to do it again lol.
