so is the pre fest at the actual venue or in one of these smaller venues? are we looking at capacity issues if I dont buy a ticket for them now? I dont want them to sell out like the late nights
LOL! So...being a sort-of local (during summers my whole life) I suggest we do the Inforoo meet up at the Flora-Bama. Cause if you have never been there....you need to experience it ONCE in your life. That's usually all it takes but....it's worth it! And if you guys want to go out to eat before or have a cookout...the house I am staying at is in Orange Beach...In Bear Point Marina. So we could do a cookout/potluck there then all go over to the Flora-Bama as a group since it's only about 2 miles from where I will be staying. Just let me know.
Another thing I asked AJ about was making the schedule. He said they consider fan bases when they book bands so bands like Primus and The Flaming Lips don't end up conflicting. Take that for what it's worth. I know some of you are as into The Avett Brothers as you are Cee Lo.

thanks. that's a good thing that primus and flips won't conflict. but avetts could conflict with one of them and that would suck.

Cee Lo vs. Avetts is a manageable conflict for me - I see Cee Lo in full, then catch whatever I can of the Avetts either before or after. Cee Lo vs. Primus, however, is a different beast. Not sure what I'll do if that happens.

cee-lo's coachella performance took him out of it for me. no way i'm going to chance him showing up late or having a bad performance when i can be seeing someone else.

Here's some meaningless speculation. Based on last year's schedule and the profiles/fanbases of this year's acts, here's who I think will play last on each of the big stages.
Friday
My Morning Jacket play last on the 2nd beach stage. This overlaps with Bassnectar on the parking lot stage. Widespread Panic plays unopposed on the main stage.
Saturday
The Flaming Lips play last on the 2nd beach stage, overlapping with Motorhead on the parking lot stage. Foo Fighters play unopposed.
Sunday
The Black Keys play last on the 2nd beach stage. They overlap with Ween on the parking lot stage. Paul Simon headlines unopposed.
All of this assumes that the dance tent will mainly be used for the small bands during the day. I doubt they'll cram Bassnectar or Girl Talk into a 3,000 person tent.

I'll admit, I'm less excited about seeing him after streaming that performance. I'm a fan of his recorded stuff, though, and I don't really listen to the Avett Brothers. If he's playing against the Flaming Lips or Primus, I'll skip his ass without hesitation, which isn't something I would have said before that Coachella mess.
EDIT: "Skip his ass without hesitation" is harsher than intended, and not exactly true. I would make an effort to catch part of both sets, but would be prepared to bail on Cee Lo if he sounds like he's phoning it in.

Taking my buddy to Floro-bama on Monday for his bday. Is it even worth it to head there on a monday tho? Seems like the place a party will be brewing every day of the week. Also if anyone has extra late night tickets pm me. May 20th cant come fast enough...

Seriously, if anyone is interested in an Inforoo meetup PM me your cell number, what night would be good for you and where you are staying. I will be in Bear Point Marina in Orange Beach and we can all meet there or another central location depending on where you guys want to go. Sounds like a lot of us are skipping WSP...that might be a good time or we'll figure it out!
