Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Twitter says that was 5 hours ago, which would have been just a little ways up this page, so we can pretty much rule out anything we've said up to this point.
Yeah, Cokes updated the op with that stuff earlier.
Did someone mention She & him... They've played before(veteran) Zoey Deschanel was a judge once at the Independent Music Awards(magistrate) and she's played numerous roles in acting(character of sorts)... Only thing I couldn't grasp is the crab/ throne part.
Haven't read through the thread at all, but I had an idea.
I see the first half as having to do with playing cards. A king, queen or jack. Do they not hold different items? A sword, axe (both pertaining to veteran), or sceptre (magistrate)? "of sorts" = different suits.
The second part...I don't know. A sand castle?
I'm pretty tired, but thought I would leave that food for thought.

Whew, I got so excited to post this that I made an account! How about of Montreal? They're veterans (09), their most recent album is titled False Priest (magistrate), and Kevin Barnes has his alter ego, Georgie Fruit (which is certainly a character). Not sure how the crab part fits in, but Montreal was a fortified city... well wait, I just thought it over more and the costumes that they have sometimes have giant crustacean claws, and they have a song with the lyrics "My goat, my crab, my scorpion". But yeah, my guess is Radiohead.
Fair warning (and it's not directed at any individual poster):
I am inclined to start Leno-ing people who come in to post and begin by announcing that they haven't read the previous work that everyone else has done. It's disrespectful and pointless: yes, we've already thought of your idea. Ususally on page one. If you want to play, put in the work that your peers have.
I am also inclined to Leno people who come on here and just post a random band name. Show your work, people. You may be right but if you don't tell us how it relates to the clue how will we know? Also, the answer is never Bowie.
Missed the strict posting guidelines, sorry. Just had a thought and threw it out there. Made a profile just for that reason, so no, I didn't spend an hour reading through previous posts.
Won't happen again, carry on.
/don't know what 'Leno-ing' is, should I care now? //really keeping that laid back 'roo spirit alive in the off season

Karma system, Leno is negative karma, you can turn it off in your profile settings if you don't want to take part...
Normally it is pretty relaxed around here, but Roo Clues are different. When a train of thought in a thread is going on, it can get a little annoying to have a tattered idea thrown in again... Not to mention when we get tweets about a page frame having it, we then have people re-considering what was already ruled out (see clue thread #1 around page 53)...
Don't be discouraged, though! It's tradition around here!
I want to apologize in advance if this is painfully wrong....but what about Fistful of Mercy??? The super group made up of Dhani Harrison, Ben Harper & Joseph Arthur? They formed the group less than a year ago and are scheduled to play at coachella, for these reasons alone I think they might be a good bonnaroo canidate...but on the clue:
a veteran=ben harper (I do not know if Joseph Arthur or Dhani Harrison have also played Bonnaroo before..)
a magistrate=judge=Joseph Arthur. Joseph Arthur started his own record label, making him the 'judge' who chooses which artist's he'll represent (I'm not completely convinced that Arthur is the magistrate, but for the moment it fits...)
a character of sorts=Dhani Harrison. Dhani has many different facets to his persona: he studied phyics, formed the band thenewno2, was integral in the creation of the beatles rock band, (more?)
"A throne one cannot abdicate, of which a crab can make a fort"
After reading this my first thought was of rock/music royalty(which eventually led me to Dhani) and shells or something of that nature. The best I could do was to rationalize that Dhani Harrison cannot separate himself from his famous father, who is apart of rock royalty, (I know, this interpretation is corny, a stretch, and too general..but hey, I'm brainstorming..) I also would like to some how link the traveling wilberries to this, as Dhani compared his super group to his fathers...part of excepting destiny and not abidicating his thrown...errrsomething?
Can't quite link it to the crab bit though, except that maybe crabs build forts out of rocks..as in the music genre...as a rock music throne.. (WEAK, I know:/)
Anyway, I just thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. I'm sure many of you who know much more than I do.

Well, having now read the Clue 5 board, it seems there's a lot of angst about people posting Radiohead... just wanted to clarify that I was joking Don't want to piss anyone off! My real guess is still of Montreal, as explained above.

Don't worry, I totally lol'd when I saw your Radiohead comment!

Big Audio Dynamite (Mick Jones from the Clash's band) is scheduled to reunite this year and they have already confirmed Cochella this year. Mick would certainly fit the "Vet" label and his throne as a member of the Clash could hold water....pretty weak analysis on my part just getting some new names out there rather than hearing NY, Jack, R-head, or DP guessed again.

I wanna go ahead and name Beach House... garychardonnay said "fort knox is 'fridged'; sand castles are 'closer'". That makes me feel like Beach has something to do with it. Plus they have performed their before as well as had an amazing year this past year. Oh and Victoria Legrand has a strong history of acclaimed composers and singers in her family.
Bonnaroo Wish 2011 Wish List.. Going Big lol... F&TM, Robyn, La Roux, of Montreal, Janelle Monae, Sia, M.I.A., Girl Talk, Daft Punk, Animal Collective, Radiohead, The xx (but prolly not), iamamiwhoami (would be a dream), Yeasayer, Grizzly Bear... perhaps more but that would be greedy haha
I know one you guys mentioned King Diamond earlier but, never received a reply from Gary. However, the more I think about it the more it makes sense. He's both a veteran(performing since mid 70's) magistrate(KING) character(early concept albums include himself as a character) Plus Gary's clues in reply to Ozzy he mentioned "king" of darkness and later he said something about brainstorming maybe refering to Diamond's first group Brainstorm(1974). I'm having trouble tying together the crab/castle/fort part though.
Trey is a veteran, megistrate could refer to his trouble w/ the law, he's a character of sorts in terms of personality and how many bands he's played with, Phish is obviously the king of jam bands, and Phish/TAB (like a normal tab) could refer to the fort...and with the sand castle reference making beach more likely = phish/fish. Probably not, but hey.
has anyone considered the return of Steve Martin and the Steep Canyon Rangers
It's not a bad guess. Martin is certainly a veteran. "King Tut" could do for the "throne" thing. Just found a link that mentioned something about hermit crabs living in "deep ocean canyons." A "Ranger" could be considered a magistrate.
