Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Guys, you won't believe this, but here goes. Anyway, my friend is the manager for the Quizno's (sandwiches) in Manchester, and Quizno's works with AC/Superfly to provide all the sandwiches backstage for Bonnaroo. He told me that Quizno's was told that they need to stock up extra roast beef for the festival, because Daft Punk is headlining and all they eat are roast beef sandwiches.
I'm calling BS. There's no Quizno's in Manchester!!

You know, I am just relaying what I have heard, and if you want to know that I am a legit person on these boards, just PM the moderator Teine and put masshysteria (my name on this board) to confirm that I am legit. I have known him for years and even went to his infamous Bonnalito parties (pre roo party at his house right beside the bonnaroo grounds). I heard information, I went to Inforoo to relay what I have heard, I am not a newb on these boards (hence the over <edit 800> posts I have on here), and the good folks here can take it or leave it.
Juggernaut, I have respect for you for what you bring to these boards, but no need to bash the messenger. I have lived in Murfreesboro all of my life, and have had connections to some of the inner workings of roo for a while now, even if I didnt know it at the time.

From what I was told (and the person that I get my haircuts from has been one of my friends for many years and we have been part of the same group going to roo for the whole time I have been going) and she said that when she went to some local group of hair stylest (continuing education or something). She got word from someone that is working with AC/Superfly with Paul Mitchell (prep for the artists/pics/etc) and that is when she was told that Dre & Eminem were going to be there but that it is confidential at this point.
You can take this with a grain of salt, but we will know officially in a few more weeks who will be there or not.

6 days is when we'll know. Thanks for the info. It's appreciated. You just never know where these rumors start. Like what if the person your friend heard it from just heard someone else talking about the possibility of it or just heard some other rumor. Stuff like that trickles down all the time.
A while back we had someone say that their mom overheard someone discussing Radiohead and Phish being at the festival. We have to make sure where this info comes from
Take this for what it is worth but I have a friend that works at a hair salon in Murfreesboro that works with Paul Mitchell (the hair salon) and Paul Mitchell work's with AC/Superfly's artist's at Bonnaroo and they have been told that Dre & Eminem are fully confirmed for Jay-Z's spot this year. The people that hate on Eminem will not have to see him if they do not want too, but for the people that enjoy him (especially w Dre) are going to have a blast. If you judge Eminem by all of his early stuff, then you are not doing him any justice. Check out his recent album "Recovery" because it is nothing like his older (vulgar) material. Also, like Jay-Z did last year, Eminem is turning his career from the more shock material to superstar status like Jay-Z has. It is not like he doesnt know that he will have to prove himself in front of one of the most musically critical crowds when he performs at roo, and will bring all he has to win over people that do not think fondly of him (hence the reason Dre is going to be with him, and you know that Coachella is going to be livid since they were not able to get there hometown hero Dre on their festival while little ole Manchester, TN is going to be his first festival appearance back prior to his album coming out).
So for the people that do not want Eminem near the farm, they are going to have to get over it like they had too with Kings of Leon, Bruce, Tool (which to all of the Tool haters, they are going to hate that A Perfect Circle are going to be there), and insert any other band that has come each year since the inception of Bonnaroo that was going to supposedly "ruin" the Roo "vibe".
does the Bonnaroo hair stylist know the head of concessions & head of security as well?

Well, A Perfect Circle is one of the ones I have no clue if they are coming but just from what I heard on this lovely board, it sounds like they have a good chance. I had no idea that they were even back making music until I heard they were rumored to be at roo this year. That is one of the bands that I would be really excited to see because I am a big Maynard James Keenan fan. If anything, I would highly enjoy Puscifer being at roo.
I also want to say that as far as headliners go, I would take Daft Punk over any other band that has been mentioned on these boards. I just commented about Eminem because of what I heard. <hoboken2roo> For all I know you may be right that they could be blowing clouds of leno up her ass and they have no idea if Dre & Em were there, but I just know that my friend wouldn't say someone is confirmed if she didnt mean it.
I do know one thing that I can officially confirm though...I will be partying my ass off no matter who plays this year.
Edit: PS: I just noticed that my Awesome points went down for the first time in 3 years....lol. I hope if this comes out to be true with Dre & Em that the kind folks who took points away will bring them back (end snark)

Okay I will throw down on this thread in the event Outkast cannot be got I will see Em. I have seen alot of great Hip-Hop throughout the years but never have seen a white boy rap. Gues it is time I bust that cherry. Seen RUN-DMC, Common, Wu-Tang, Jurassic 5, Arrested Development ( In Tennessee ). Lupe Fiasco, Talib Kweli, Tricky, Jay-Z, Nappy Roots, Nas, Damian Marley, Cypress Hill, Ice Cube, B.O.B., and Kid Cudi, and let us just say for the sake of argument say I saw a couple of Kanye songs and was taunted by his ass on the walk back to camp and while trying to sleep all in in bum fucked POD 1. Not really sure what all was going on at that wee hour I was ripped and dizzy and delirious. Oh shit I almost forgot the Beastie Boys( 2X). So guess what white people are perfectly capable of rapping woudl still prefer OUTKAST. But if not like I say white boys can rap!!!

Thanks for the info Mass. Anything at this point is appreaciated! Awesome points for you. Also, did you say you heard they would be in the Jay Z spot? As in late night/sub headliner? So there is still a chance at a huge rock act on Sat night in the position Stevie Wonder was in?

Your welcome, and from what she told me that it would be in the same spot as Jay-Z as in after the saturday main headliner. So that means other things will be going on while Em is on stage.

Ohh Lord. The plot thickens.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Most definitely the plot thickens, but I did write that in my first post so that wasn't anything new I was stating ;D

So you're telling me that AC/Superfly, who are notoriously stingy with inside information, as wary as they are about lineup leaks in the wake of previous years, has alerted their HAIR STYLISTS that Eminem and Dre would be headlining?
This is even less believable than the guy who claimed that his friend who worked security had been told that Radiohead and Prince were headlining.
Insider confirmed herself that they tried to get both... Seem's like misinformation more than outright fabrication.
Whoever that was that said Kanye is better than Eminem, please sit your ass on the couch and don't bother coming to the farm this June. You won't like it.
I said that Kanye was a better hip hop artist. I was kind of a fan of Em until his music went from angry to some what agreeable to plain stupid. He has talent but really doesn't use it.
My favorite rapper is Mos Def so I will be happy seeing Blackstar but if Eminem is there, I will do something else during that set.
For what its worth, Kanye is an @$$hole but a genius @$$hole.

You really need to listen to Eminem's lastest album, Recovery. It is so much better than his previous work, which I agree had gotten a little stupid. Eminem will always be awesome in my opinion. Would love to see him at Roo!
