Here's hoping one year for some sort of curated tent for experimental electronica. Not a lunar stage/dance sort of setup, but a cutting age electronica setup. A Thom Yorke curated affair. Anyone know of any festivals currently doing something like this?

Unfortunately, no. I haven't seen one festival this year pull out a single electronic act that is either fresh or cutting edge. It's all just the sammmmmme olllllddd shittttttttt
I'm really hoping for some more electronic additions...stoked regardless.
Could really use some Hallucinogen or Shpongle.
Shpongle is going to be there, actually ;D
And idk, I'm sorry.. but I'm really excited to see all the electronic acts that are up now. Not saying that I don't want to see a bunch more added but yeh.. I mean I'm guessing all the people that are disappointed have already seen Bassnectar/Pretty Lights/etc.. quite a few times?

Precisely. I don't hate Bassnectar OR PL, but it's just the same old shit I've been seeing at fests for the past few years. If you're excited, I'm happy for you, because I remember seeing Bassnectar for my first time at Jam on the River '07 and I had my face melted.

Joy Orbison is pretty awesome too, and coach is usually my exception to that previous statement. However, they do still have Skrillex, Boys Noize, and a very high amount of random garb DJs.
People have got to get sick of Girl Talk, Bassnectar, Deadmau5 and Pretty Lights eventually...
... right?
Yaa..I feel like once you've seen em you've seen em. I'm not to excited about Bassnectar, I'll probably skip out on him again. I'm kind of dub stepped out, haha. Girl Talk is fun, if you haven't seen em you definitely need to. I won't be at his set though. Pretty much already know what to expect and would rather catch something else. As far as Pretty Lights are concerned, I can always get down to em :]
I hope they add more electronic acts, there is so much out there right now they have absolutely no excuse for not get something sick, SOMETHING OTHER THAN DUBSTEP. Please dear god, I'm so over it. Jus my opinion though :]

Shpongle is going to be there?? Really?? Source?
I've seen Bassnectar a bunch but he is really my favorite electronic producer so I never, ever mind seeing him. I've only seen Pretty Lights once and it was the best set at that certain festival, so I am stoked to see him again. So I am excited as well, but I will be MORE excited for extra electronic additions, and especially if Shpongle is really going to be there!
Shpongle would be a cool add. I'm not super into them but I've heard their live show is just killer. Don't really know where this person who says they are gonna be there is getting their info, though.

I read something on here that made me think Shpongle was a definite this year. I don't see them on the actual lineup, however. I'm sure someone who is good at searching the boards can find what I read and link it for us. Maybe a Twitter confirmation or something? I just looked at Shpongle's myspace and they are booked on the 10th and 11th of June.
11/2/19: Tool 5/17/19: Blues Traveler 5/9/19: Tool 11/10/18: Tenacious D 9/20/18: White Denim 7/23/18: Radiohead 6/4/18: Jack White 5/20/18: Tool 5/18/18: A Perfect Circle 5/18/18: Alice in Chains 5/6/18: Blind Melon
I'd say we can count on a thursday night show. Seems odd that the Bonnaroo show being cancelled would coincide so well with it being discovered on here, which I'm sure is monitored by AC folks. Same thing happened in '08 for Tiesto (announced initially then came down before an addition announcement by Roo). I'm with mc on being surprised by them having a thursday night show over any other night, but I know people have been asking for Shpongle in some form for some time now, so looks like people will be hitting the ground running this year.

This would make me an extremely happy camper, especially since I am skipping Wakarusa for Bonnaroo this year.
You can keep those and I'll have some of the following, thanks.

^This would be lovely. Minus Skrillex
Yeah that is a really really solid list, why would you want Skrillex to taint that wonderful experience?

I knew I would take heat for that. I really enjoy the heavines of his music and would only check him out without conflicts at a festival. I'm not a big fan of dubstep (in fact it annoys me like crazy) but I'd be lying if I said it wouldn't be cool to hear "scatta" loud as possible and since that genre is unavoidable, I'd much rather have him than bassnectar or rusko...
With that said, I will remove his name from my list for all of you guys.

To each his own, I just think that in that whole filthy stinky nasty wobble genre, there are better names out there than him.
Otherwise, that lists leads me to believe that we would get along justttttt fine. I'd kill to see FlyLo, Trentemoller, Basement Jaxx, James Blake, or Delorean hit roo.

Cant get "Limit to your Love" out of my head. i tried to get my friend into this album and it just wasnt what he was expecting and/or looking for so it didnt click for him... but im obsessed. The whole album is solid and quite frankly unlike almost anything ive ever listened to before. he would probably instantly leapfrog everyone to be my #1 must see if he was added.... but alas hes the one of the last acts i expect to see there

I would suggest to someone getting into his EPs first. They are a little bit more accessible in terms of danciness and what not... I feel that the simplicity of the self titled album can be appreciated even more when you see how dense and high-concept some of his EP work is.
Edit: Just noticed 1k posts... yay! Now wheres my PM with all of the Bonnaroo lineups for the next 5 years?
