Karen, if he does not overcharge people, how is he going to pay his way? He needs money for a Roo ticket, money for food, for beer, you know that stuff is not free, unless you are this guy. Do not forget to throw in some Vaseline, because anytime someone is getting fucked and does not know it, lubrication is always a good thing.
I've done some research, as of right now the most expencive bus I could charter would cost $160.00 per person based of a total of 50 people. That's including an extra few dollars per person to cover the cost of a hotel room for the driver. I'm still waiting for all of my information to come back before I post all of the numbers I have. But I will. I'm working on a readable spread sheet which will go up here.
This is fun. I love getting competitive quotes from people. It's part of my actual job.
Thank you for your email and we are so happy you are interested in attending this year.
To answer your question, there really is nowhere for a bus to drop off attendees. My best advice to you would be to have the bus drop you off somewhere in Manchester such as the Walmart or another close-by location so you would not be idling in the entrance line. You could then walk over to the farm.
Please let us know if you have any further questions.
Here is a quote from an email I got from AC entertainment. They were really quick to get back to me. I sent the email and a day later I got a response that wasn't an automated one.
And yes scrog I'm working in all of the expenses of the trip into the final cost as well.
I've asked for quotes for both NYC and Buffalo. And some of the quotes that I got for Buffalo are pretty awesome. I think my lowest one is 104. I'm thinking it might be something to put together next year.
I do agree with you Karen, this is a good idea, with piss poor execution. I think he could pull it off, but his attitude sucks! He seems to be thick headed. seems like any suggestion he takes personal and won't allow outside advise or constructive criticism. Either way, I hope his passengers know what they are in for. I also hope to read later this year about how people had a good time and I am proven wrong.
Scrog, I actually dont "need" the money for any of that... I will probably end up with a loss...
Karen, Think about the cost of the bus... I am paying a high end company (guaranteed to send us a bus anywhere in the country no matter what the cost if something goes wrong) with newer buses (the bus we will use is manufactured in 2006) and the cost of fuel is over $4 for diesel. I guarantee that in the contract you get from ANY bus company they will have a fuel surcharge for anything over $X. We also have two drivers and we need to pay for the hotel. So assume after everything is said and done each seat costs me $135. That means the bust costs $6600. Plus marketing the bus add another $400 that brings the cost to $7000, add another $400 in credit card processing fees, eventbrite fees. Total is now $7400. If I sold the tickets for 165. I would need to sell 44 tickets to break even out of 49.
I am willing to bet that I will end up taking a loss on this trip... BUT because I am willing to take risks and take a loss on the trip it will truck on.
Im not sure what kind of quote you got or who AC is but Im positive their is more to the story than that...
Hmmm... well, your numbers do seem a little bit steep, but not ridiculously out of control (assuming the $170 is the roundtrip cost). I could potentially see myself doing this some year, but only if the shuttle dropped us off right at the farm, and I was going by myself. It still seems like they have some major kinks to work out first, but it could be something to keep in mind for future years.

I could be wrong, but I would think, if you rented a bus, it would be in the contract that if bus fails, they will send you anew one, no matter where you are, I could be wrong, but that seems like the right thing to do.

Inforoo is free and do not forget that!

maybe you should sell the tickets first, find out how many people are interested, then pay for the bus and such.

You should educate yourself on this AC guy. He's pretty fucking cool!
OK, I have watched this bullsh!t long enough. jniamehr, you have 98 posts on this forum. Other than your cell reception post, everyone of your posts are about this bus trip you are pimping out. That, or a post hijack about your bus trip.
This stops NOW. Inforoo is not a forum intended for people to come on here and advertise (free) their services. This is a community of people that are here to discuss music, life, and everything else.
IF, you had made an attempt to become a member of this community, and IF you had not been so rude and obnoxious towards all these long term member, who only tried to help you, then maybe you could have stuck around.....BUT, you are no longer going to use our community to pimp out this ridiculous idea, that will no doubt screw some folks in some way.
YOU may not think you have been rude and codescending, but lemme just clear that up for you, YOU HAVE...
Oh, and to not know who AC Entertainment is...... Just WOW!!!
Oh BTW: you are banned......

I believe he mentioned buying ads on Facebook (something Juggs said wasn't necessary) but yea.....it doesn't much matter now.
Yeah ITM, I was just pointing out that he was "advertising" his bus trip on Inforoo and the red angry smiley was to let him know that was not cool, but Roofan fixed all that.
I could be wrong, but I would think, if you rented a bus, it would be in the contract that if bus fails, they will send you anew one, no matter where you are, I could be wrong, but that seems like the right thing to do
Every single one of my quotes included everything that was mentioned. Without me even asking. It was just part of the basic deal.
Well at least he hasn't sold any more tickets in a while. So hopefully some of the people that were thinking about buying one read this and made a smart decision not to.
You're really happy with the outcome because you are trying to sabotage his trip because youre jealous? This guy told me that he was banned from this forum (I happen to be going on the bus and I did find him on Facebook) I think it's a pretty great idea and I got nervous as to him being banned but appreciated his honesty... He laughed it off and thinks it's pretty funny when we spoke about it but I was still worried so I came on here to see for myself...... Now I see why he laughed it off you people are pretty lame! Why are you ganging up on this guy? Whenever I've dealt with him he's been forthcoming and a straight shooter.

people are just trying to help. hes the one not taking any advise from people that have been 10 out of the 10 years..why u would not listen to any advise from people with that experience is beyond me. way to go inforoo for trying to get people to open there eyes. if they dont want to thats thier own loss..thumbs up roo F

Most people were trying to help, some people were giving him a hard time, but there was constructive criticism and advice.

Yeah I don't really think I'm jealous of him. Have you been to Bonnaroo before? I think that might be why you think he's being straight forward. Because you assume that his answers are in fact correct answers instead of just what he think is the correct answer. Which if you really read through this you'll see that most of his initial plan has no value what so ever.
I really hope that this all works out for you. I don't think it will but maybe I'm wrong.
Love the sig Karen!!! That really is pretty hilarious if you think about it. All you guys were trying to do was help (in an inforoo sort of way). But that HAS to take the cake!!! Not sure who AC is.
Kinda sounds like he may not have been completely truthful about talking to the roo organizers about where he can drop off people, huh?
Yeah that's the feeling I got as well. I sent an email and received a rel response with in a day. He went on for a week about how he was waiting for a response from someone. Seems a little wierd.
Thanks Roofan, I thought that was the best thing he said.
One thing though if he were to get this bus to TN in one piece and the closest they would be able to get without waiting in line was the Walmart, I know there is this little side street right across from the car dealer ship that I did walk down with a dolly full of camping gear. It wasn't horrible. The entrance to the farm was over on the VIP side of the site, if I remember correctly. But this was in 09 and it was the Saturday before the festival even started so entering was a little easier. And then we got a ride in a truck from one of the volunteer coordinaters named Brian I believe.
Anyways...that walk wasn't that bad and I was wondering if this road is at all accessable once the festival starts? Or if not is there a more direct route from the Wal Mart that doesn't include walking on the thruway?
