So here I go again. I have 2 rooms at the holiday inn super dome. Price is $99 per night, check in Friday oct 28 and check out is Monday oct 31. That price is less than half then they are charging. Email me at mbeethoven@live and let's make a deal.
So I been looking up from time to time prices for hotels and flights.
You're either staying out by the airport, or you're paying out the
I'm thinking of doing Saturday to Tuesday, rather than Friday to Monday... just to save a little. But still, trying to get everything below target price is a bit tough.

EasyMorningRebel & myself are staying Thurs - Tues. If you can't find an affordable space, you could chip in and crash with us. We're probable catching Down on Sat late-nite and definitely Galactic/Mofro at Tip's on Halloween, Monday, if you're interested. Should be a crazyass weekend.

I second what whoreshack said Lowerdeck, if you need a place to crash let us know. this is def an odd Voodoo "Experience" but I think it'll still be a ton o' fun...
I just picked up Mastodon tickets for their show in Boston, so that takes care of my only must see on Saturday. So that leaves Sunday at Voodoo and ? the rest of the weekend.
I presume that's JJ Grey and Mofro on the Monday night?

What is all this talk of expensive lodging? I have 2 rooms FOR SALE at the holiday inn Superdome for only $99 per night and that includes taxes??? That means the rack rate is like $85 per night? Do you consider that expensive? If you do you will NEVER find a room in new Orleans. Check in fri oct 28 and check out is Monday oct 31.
I will hear NO MORE talk of expensive lodging because it's simply not true.
Email me at mbeethoven@hotmail.com and let's make a deal.
Anyone going to the Toubab Krewe show 10/28 @ Maison on Frenchmen? Haven't seen them since Voodoo last year, way overdue! Tickets are 10$ and VIP is 15$ which gets you access to more bars and a balcony (ragespot).

my first post here, hello hello. thanks for the years of helpful bonnaroo type info i've gleaned from the forum. i haven't attended 'roo since 2004 but i keep having these bonnaroo dreams this year. no kidding, i have a recurring dream i go to 'roo but am woefully unprepared. a few nights ago i had a dream i was at 'roo but all i had was a baseball cap. no camping gear no food no supplies no nothing. anyway i want to go to 'roo this year so i signed up on this forum because it seems like a great community. I hit "new posts" and see this huge voodoo thread.
I am seriously underwhelmed with Voodoo this year, but hey, i bought my tickets in the $90 presale, got a room in the 1/4 for $60/night (holiday inn hot-wired in april), and live two hours away. Plus at this rate the only people there will be the Voodoo hardcore regulars and a handful of Le Plur kiddies, so less crowd! All in all its been a very sad season for the Voodoo marketing team, but I'm still excited to be back in City Park for halloween.
I'll be at Bassnectar 10/27, not sure about any other late night shows. Would love to catch Down or Toubab but I'm usually completely exhausted after a day of Voodoo and fall asleep.

OK...I am all set for VooDoo except...my work schedule has turned into the Nightmare on Elm Street and doesn't loom to be getting any better before June 2012.....I am trying to arrange it so that some of my friends can use my tix and hotel but if that falls through (and I should know this week) I have two $75 three day early bird passes to sell AND if anyone wants it....a room at the Marriot Canal for the VooDoo rate of $129. Is $309 a night. IF work ends up screwing me over and I don't have any friends that want to go...I'll sell my tix AND keep the Marriot rez if I KNOW someone will use them. Otherwise I'll stick the tix on Craigs List and cancel the hotel...
that toubab krewe @ maison thing is a little odd sounding.. i've never once paid a cover to go to maison (which is probably my favorite bar in all of new orleans) and when you say vip gets you access to a balcony and more bars.. the upstairs is a balcony and always is accessible and has its own bar, and then higher up from that is the dance party area. i just think its weird that they would shut out the top floors and charge a cover for toubab.. just weird

I would LOVE your tickets. Let me know if your friends cant use them. I am all set with a hotel as you have probably have seen from my numerous posts. Email me at mbeethoven@live.com if you can sell me your tickets.

Hey I had first dibs on one of your 75$ pass remember!

Well it is Halloween weekend in NOLA and festi weekend so Maison has to get everyone to custy-up! They cost 15 or 20$ during Jazzfest latenite this year on Frenchmen so its still a good deal. Toubab has gotten bigger and they need a higher guarantee now so that is my deduction on the cover.

I should know by the end of this week (if not sooner) whether I need to unload the tix etc. I also have a room booked at the Marriott for the VooDoo rate of $129 a night that I would be willing to keep reserved for anyone that wants/needs it. You would just have to give them your credit card at checkin but use my name....I have it Thurs night thru Sunday night...check out on Monday. All I ask is that you guys party for me and PLEEZZE take some pix of Soundgarden for me! I can't BELIEVE I have to give up probably my only chance at seeing them....sigh. Being grown up sux!

If you go to Maison's website they've got the tix on sale

Hey bamabelle! So - I've been pretty absent on this thread, work has been KILLING me lately; havent really been on Inforoo at all. But me and a couple friends are coming in for Voodoo on Thursday and leaving Monday. We can take your hotel off your hands if you dont have any takers? We found some things at super cheaper about a month ago but didnt pull the trigger, then prices went way up. I'll be seeing them this evening and we can discuss - then I'll PM you!!!

OK, finally got confirmation that my oldest son and gf ARE GOING. So I have to kind of give them first dibs. But I do have ONE night (Thurs) at the Marriot that I am going to cancel but will hold if anyone wants/needs it. It is at the $129 Voodoo Rate. The other nights will go to my son. Now....I will just mention that my son has ALL best intentions but sometimes things out of his control (aka gf) happen so I might still have some VERY last minute things but don't count on it. I would HATE for anyone to miss it just for holding out hope on that. Thanks for the great response and when/if I have tix up for grabs I will DEFINTELY give any inforooster first dibs!
Gotta give the fam first dibs! Glad you and your son have similar musical interests, most parents aren't that lucky!
LOL! I like to think I raised them right. Though my oldest who is going this year went last year with me first timer. He didn't think he would like the crowds etc. He had a BLAST and is now convering his friends. My youngest I am having to literally hold back on...he and I have much more similar taste in music and he would go see RATM ANYWHERE if I would let him! And I have taken him to see Breaking Benjamin, Three Days Grace, Collective Sould, Black Crowes, North Mississippi Allstars and Foo Fighters...he has loved them all! ;D

i haven't posted on here in a while seeing as how i didn't do Roo this year, but i just read through this thread and i am so excited that all of you lovely people are coming down to my city for voodoo!
despite the consistently uneven lineups, Voodoo is always an incredibly good time. City park is beautiful, the weather is perfect, and NOLA is amazing. i saw TV On The Radio there for the first time 3 years ago (i also met Kyp and Tunde, just walking around enjoying the music), and it is still one of the best shows i have ever seen.
everyone owes it to themselves to go to the french quarter at least one night after voodoo and get absolutely SMASHED on some hand grenades. or swing by the port of call on esplanade and get a monsoon.
i'd mention all the fantastic cultural activities in nola, but i assume everyone will be rocking out all day and all there is to do here at night is drink. This is a drinking town, so come mentally, physically, and emotionally prepared for some craziness.
Pandy- Always looking for good restaurant recommendations from locals and non-touristy bars. Frenchman St? Are you catching any late shows? Bassnectar Thurs. Toubab Fri. Down Sat & Sun. Galactic Mon. Those should keep me busy. Also, I heard the parade is a no-go this year. Bummer.

I'm not a local but I live a couple hours away and have been visiting new orleans my whole life. Mandinas is a fantastic choice if you want good food away from the FQ. just a short trip down canal, easy parking. For breakfast there is Surreys, a tiny and very popular place, super tasty heady type hippie food, fresh juice, etc. The other great breakfast option is definitely touristy but for a reason. Mothers right into the CBD is the fracking bomb. biscuit made me cry, best ham i've ever had.
endless dining options in nola but those come to mind.
also I hear Verti Marte in the FQ is where its at for late night eats, but i've never been. i plan to remedy that over halloween this year!
Hell yah glad there's some ragers getting ready for Voodoo. I sold my Deluna tickets so I can just get Saturday day passes, all I want to really see there is Jane's addciction
