^^^ should be within a week or two. Hoping for a couple of last minute additions.
Just got my 3 day pass for 100$ w/ free shipping on ebay a few minutes ago.......it's on! Should got the 75$ ticket last year, but whatever 100$ is still a steal for all the great music and bands I haven't seen.

Those $75 tickets ended up being $90 after the taxes and fees so you got a steal. $100 is a bargain even for this lackluster line up.
^^^ Sans MCR and Blink, obviously, I think this is a great lineup. Way better than last year (for me). Many epic Voodoo's have spoiled everyone I think. Topping '09 is a tall order imo.
This years Voodoo is the most diverse and original lineup I've seen all year. If they had something instead of MCR/Blink people would be digging it way more.
Y'all have fun for me!! Take lots of pix, especially of Soundgarden! I hate not being able to go but my son and his friend are going. I took him with me last year and Mr "I hate people and crowds" ended up having a great time! So I am sure that will only increase now that he knows what to expect. And having tix to see Chris Cornell Acoustic Songbook tour in Nashvegas in early Nov does ease the pain...a bit! But you guys should check out the Old Absinthe house (best bloody marys in the city!) Deanies Seafood, Mothers for poboys and I would suggest bars but they are all about the same price etc. Though I would definitely make it down to Frenchmen St at least once in the weekend! Not the cheapest bars but by FAR the best entertainment. A lot of the major VooDoo performers will be playing around NOLA for the weekend and Frenchmen is the best place to catch them! Just remember....NOLA does NOT have an open container law but they DO ban glass outside of restaurants and bars. So ask for a Go Cup....marvelous invention! ;D ;D
Not far from City Park is Parkway Bakery & Tavern, some of the best po-boys in town. If you have the time, I highly suggest you try it out, you won't regret it.
Maison traditionally charges a cover for most of their acts during busier times btw (Jazz Fest, Voodoo, Mardi Gras, New Year's, etc.) I have never been there though when the balcony is reserved for "VIP". Normally, you pay your cover, and it gets you anywhere in the place, including the balcony, and upstairs, where they have additional shows, and dj's. Sound upstairs is absolutely awful, but it's tiny and you can usually rage with whoever is playing. Saw the Heavy Pets there a while ago, and they were so bummed to be upstairs at that place. Played a few songs, then Steve Molitz from Particle came and jammed with them, but then they were done. They just weren't feeling it.
So it appears the schedule is being released tomorrow and they are letting you have a sneak peak at it by telling you who is playing what day via their Facebook page.

This is by no means all the acts, but since I'm a nerd I compiled an excel spreadsheet with acts I'm interested in along with some of the other "bigger" acts, gleaned from Voodoo's twitter feed (time/band/stage):

their tweet didn't have a time for ani for some reason, but it should be somewhere in the time frame of the acts around her.
Horrible conflicts on Sunday. All the best band are jammed in Sunday eve. Dropping a main stage sure didn't help things. More piss poor planning from Rehage this year. Thanx for posting these set times, jack.
The only stipulation on giving my tix and hotel to my son were that they HAD to be at Soundagarden and take as many pix as possible! My consolation prize is seeing Chris Cornell do his Acoustic Songbook Tour in Nov in Nashville.....so it's a worthy swap out! ;D
Not going to this fest, but Sunday is going to be awesome for anyone who is. Odd Future > TV > Raconteurs or Fatboy Slim
as much as I've bitched about Voodoo this year, when you break it down to a simple run of bands like that it makes me appreciate the diversity of the lineup.
Conflicts galore for me all weekend but thats just the nature of the festival beast. Saturday may be the weakest day but its sure makes scheduling easy:
Star Eyes or Soul Rebels > Boots Electric > Mastodon > Social Distortion > Snoop Dogg > Girl Talk
Which means I get to camp at the Voodoo stage for most of the day. Should be awesome!
I am really freaking pumped for Voodoo. My GF says its all I talk about right now.

Yeah, I did more than my share of bitching, only because I really love attending this fest and don't want to see it go downhill with shady promoting and sub-par booking. You're right though, it's as diverse as ever, if slightly less deep...
Fri- Peelander Z > Morphine (members) > Fitz/Tantrums > BoHorses > Major Lazer > Steve Angello > Soundgarden

absolutely, its been a sad season for the Voodoo marketing team. When you have new festivals like Hangout kicking ass in the area of social networking and fan communication, shit like Voodoo pulled this summer is unacceptable. disappearing for weeks off your FB page when you said you'd be announcing bands daily? as competitive as the music festival market is these days you can't be pulling that kind of shit.
bottom line I just think voodoo wasn't ready, and thats why they did this "bands added daily" with no end in sight nonsense. I have no problem with a band countdown so long as there is a set day when we'll get a full lineup.
The good news about VooDoo and conflicts is....both main stages are at right angles to each other on the edge of the big track through the park. Which means they have not in years past (not going to promise but this would be a first for them!) had acts competing on the two main stages....they have screens for both and you can camp out closer to the one you REALLY want to see and still see the screen and hear clearly who is playing the other main stage...so you aren't running around all over like Bonnaroo. One of the nicer things about VooDoo...AND if you are undecided just pick a spot between the stages...you can see and hear all well enough and move closer when something grabs ya! That's the beauty...it usually isn't packed like sardines like Bonnaroo...there's room to spread out and ENJOY not just the music but the park, the people and the city! Oh and Dr John, the Original Meters....not to be missed...once in a lifetime experience you will NOT regret!!

Bama- They ditched a main stage. Not the same set up either. I heard it's being moved to the old golf course area in City Park. Judging from the ammount of people online trying to sell their tix cheap, it definitely won't be too packed. I'm hoping to get up close for everyone.

The late-nite shows are gonna be a blast. We're hitting up: Bassnectar on Thurs, Toubab at Maison on Friday, Peelander Z on Saturday, Down on Sunday and Galactic/Mofro on Monday. That's a full agenda... which means no passing out early.
Whoreshack- We have pretty similar schedules, we gotta meet up at some point and rage it. I'll be at the Toubab show for a lil while but I think I am gonna bounce out and go to the Fishbone show at Tips....... and fyi, Walter Wolfman Washington is playing with Ivan Neville and Dr. John this weekend! Finally saw him at Jojo's Down on the Bayou III @ Howlin' Wolf during Jazzfest.....goddamn that guy can play!
7/2 - Lotus, MiMoSa, The New Deal, The Glitch Mob 7/3 - Red Rocks and Blue II w/ Umphrey's Mcgee and Easy Star All Stars 7/4 - Umphrey's Mcgee Boulder, CO

Cool. We'll pick a spot to meet Fri or I'll PM ya my Cell #. I may have to hit Fishbone with ya. Are you staying for Galactic/Mofro on Mon nite?
OK...since I will NOT be there this year...my son has the responsibility for getting Soundgarden pix HOWEVER I totally expect (since I am in no position to DEMAND) that all the Inforoosters going to VooDoo have a meet up at some point at the Old Absinthe House in the quarter. Best Bloody Marys in the world so go pre festival and then meet up after festie there. There is also a decent Italian restaurant above it that stays open till late...after 11 for sure!
Whoreshack- Nah I'll be leaving after the fest is over on Sunday to work at 5:30am Monday!! Ouch. Might be a couple of hours late.
My buddy that I'm going to the fest with is going to Eyehategod @ Siberia Friday night so I am down for gettin' down with some new folks while I'm solo. Seriously thinking Maison>Tip's is the agenda. Unless Voodoo announces another free show at One Eyed Jacks again. Feelin' like it would be Mastodon if they did do it.
Saturday night is up in the air. Earphunk is doing their "Daftphunk" set at One Eyed Jacks...thats the most promising thing I've found thus far.
Hit up the satchmo website and there are more shows listed now. The Friday at One Eye Jacks is still curiously absent......the free Butthole Surfers show I saw that night at OEJ after TV on the Radio is prob my favorite show of my life out of hundreds!.
10/28-Anba Dlo Halloween Festival - New Orleans Healing Center Papa Grows Funk + 101 Runners + Lynn Drury + Chuck Perkins + Michael Skinkus & Moyuba + Kora Konnection + Alexandra Scott & Michael Millet + King James + Coot + more
DBA- Ever Expanding Elastic waste Band, and Lost Bayou Ramblers w/ Gordon Gano. Morphine and violent Femmes, that one could be interesting...
10/29/11- Dead Kenny G's- Les Bon Temps Roule soul Rebels Brass Band & RED BARAAT- Blue Nile......Haven't heard Red Baraat yet but they look very interesting Mark Mullins & June Yamagishi @ Chickie Wah Wahs.
10/30/11- Meters Experience w/ Leo Nocentelli @ Howlin' Wolf. A change of pace from Funky Meters shows..
Just saw June/PapaGrows Funk at De Luna Fest.....my fav NOLA band right now for sure. His playing just sets me the frack off!

If Mastodon plays Fri night I will give my Toubab ticket to a needy wook. Are you pretty sure it's possible to see both Toubab & Fishbone that night? I'd think they'd be on about the same time. We're gonna go see Down on Saturday. Bet your friend would like that show. Meters on Sunday at The Wolf is just what the doctor ordered, Caddy.
