Was gonna get up on VIP tix, but this ticketing company is charging an extra 70$ in TAX on two VIPs!! WTF??? Charging tax on the internet when I'm in a different state, BULLSHIT. Gonna wait and try to score cheap VIPs before fest
Got my early birds in Nov...now got the Marriott Canal VooDoo rate for hotel. SOO stoked for Soundgarden I may camp out in the pit for the whole day they are supposed to play! LOL! Never done VIP cause other than the food and maybe some AC never saw anything worth it. Beer/alcohol is pretty cheap in NOLA even at festies compared with other places. And the viewing areas aren't great. Would rather spend the money OUTSIDE the festie on food/drink/entertainment in NOLA proper esp the after shows.....but that is just my opinion!
The website made it sound like you got to be in the front row in a special area....which is what I wanted, but yea, I forgot that I do latenites every night of the festival....$$$!!!
I really wish I had gotten 75$ tickets last year, waited too long and they were gone. 125$ isn't bad though....and TK101 always does some huge discount ticket promotion...either 2 for one or 100$ each
No, the VIP viewing areas are about where they are for Roo...not front row....but yeah the after parties and fun is always AS MUCH a part of VooDoo as the fest! And $125 tix?? Wow. Still a great deal for what you get! This isn't Jazz Fest that ends at 7 pm....it does run till 11 or after every night so....quite the deal!

The VIP area at the main stage for MMJ last year was the whole right side of the stage for like 25 yards back. No one was in it was why my group had such an awesome spot right by the "rail" If you are looking for easy proximity at the last second on the main stage, and it is like last year, then vip is totally the way to go. But I didn't need it at all. And I wouldn't trade my GA experience for anything.

THIS was what I wondered, too! I'll be a Voodoo virgin (oooh, that sounds kinda kinky!) this year so I had no clue if the VIP splurge was worth it. Good to know! Looks like I'll be blowin' my benjamins on Bourbon St instead! Laissez les bons temps rouler!

Yikes don't go to Bourbon street with all the douchebags, go party on Frenchmen street, you will have a MUCH better time.
sang the wang (and danny boy), I can show yall around. Provide floor space. And yes go to frenchmen
nice. i'm going to wait on the lineup and moog additions and then see how the money situation is looking. so it's going to be a while before we decide what we're doing.
That will be right after the fantasy baseball season is over, and since we can only assume based on current records that one of us might win that, we may need a wager.. But voodoo ready impressed me last year. They schedule things perfectly

It's been 11yrs since I last visited NOLA, so I'm open to all suggestions! I'll be coming w/another Inforooster & two other mutual festie friends - and we're ALL music junkies & foodies! We plan to suckle from the teat of hedonism & gluttony! (wait, that sounded a helluva lot better in my head than...yeah, y'all get the gist!)
Hopefully I'll have time to indulge in my Big Easy traditions: coffee & beignets @ CDM, oysters @ Acme, po-boys @ Johnny's & hurricanes @ Pat O's - but not in that order, of course! I'm crushed that Petunia's has closed...best damn breakfast crepes I've ever had. Oh, the Big Easy ain't never easy on my waistline!
Soundgarden is making this really really tempting... I'm pulling for this over Moog right now since I can no longer do ACL. I need that full lineup! Never been to NO and would love to see the city.
^ dude! Nola will blow your mind, it's so amazing! you think you had a blast in NYC for LCD's last show? crank that up 1000x & THAT'S how much fun New Orleans is!
Yeah, I'm antsy for the lineup too - haven't bought tix yet because Moogfest lineup is so kickass!
This will be the second year in a row I wish I could afford to go! As it is I can't even afford Soundgarden when they come my way this summer. But to be in New Orleans and see them? Durin' Halloween? Y'all are lucky!
To the conversation above, VIP is DEFINITELY front row, but only for the main stage. I had it last year. It seems more worth it than most fests. Front row access was VERY nice. And the VIP area was great, had some incredibly comfortable seats (Moreso than the ones in my home, I came very close to falling asleep in one of them one of the days haha), free massages, your own restrooms, and your own drink and food vendors to avoid lines (though food and drinks are the same price :/). I'm not sure if its worth as much as it is, but its a very nice VIP.

I stayed in Metairie last year and the cab fare killed me. I would love to get in with some people for a room in the quarter. We could split? Yay? Nay?
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
I'll split w/ya...I'm pretty sure Mayo will be sharing a room w/her 2 friends (another couple) so I can share with anybody - but I'd rather have my own bed if possible. We need to book rooms ASAP!!!
