we are only a month and a half out...tried to find last year's thread to bump it...anywho, someone should be updating on us of the weather models...i'm a local and it has been very cool so far this year...maybe that means a cool bonnaroo!!!
I'm one of the weather geeks that usually posts on this thread. But I usually try and wait until about May. Last year the thread started about then, I think.
Really forecasts are fairly useless more than a few weeks out but being that I HATE the heat, I continually check updates in the hope of having a reasonably moderate year.
The farmer's Almanac site only goes up until the end of May as of now but they give this chart predicting lower temps and precip for June.
PLEASE can we not have a repeat of last year, at least.
with 12 pages already from last year, I say make a new one.
roofanintn is right on with the weather, it just becomes a question of the ratios and severity of those 4 elements. I'd be cool with troo's farmer's almanac chart.. but he's also right by saying predictions this far out are useless.
I still have these bookmarked from last year. I will be refreshing them like crazy one june starts
edit. I didnt see itrainmonkeys link to that same thread... and that you were the one that bumped it haha. I still say make a new one. a thread title change on this one could work
What do you guys think is the best (but realistic) Roo weather??? I'm personally hoping for overcast skies, a slight breeze, with periodic rain showers.
For me weather all depends on one thing: rain.
Too much and you're going to get a lot of mud which will make it difficult to get vehicles in and out (like last year). You're also going to have to see shows in the rain, which is sometimes cool, but mostly uncomfortable. Rain brings strong wind usually, which can blow away tents and ez-ups if you're not careful.
Too little or none at all and you'll bake under the tennessee sun. The mud will turn to dust, which under foot traffic will turn into dust clouds that irritate the eyes and throat.

There is absolutely no way to call it.
In May and June here in TN it is possible to get rain everyday. Pop up thunderstorms that last from 10 minutes to 2 hours.
Plan on it raining because it probably will. Theres no way to know how much rain we'll get, but it WILL rain...

It didn't rain last year! It didn't rain last year! It didn't rain last year!
Well, actually it did rain just a tiny bit during the Avett Brothers concert, but heres to hoping.
*bookmarked* and put this thread's link in the 2010 thread to be sure people come here for info on this year. (I started it last year on Apr 29th, so we're just a wee bit earlier than last year, but I don't blame us after that crazy heat)
definitely agree it's too early but we can still talk about general weather concerns and wishes until we can get more ideas about what it'd realistically be like.
inthesound, i'm a redhead too and live 20 min from the farm...my freckles come out like crazy in the sun, and i usually just burn and peel...i've been trying to adjust this year by just doing more stuff outside in the sun (reading, studying, etc.) than i have in the past to get my "base" freckle tan!
it has been nice here weather-wise so far...i think it has only hit 80 one day, and that's pretty good for being almost may IMO...
this past winter, i took a look in the farmer's almanac and if i remember correctly it said it would be wet in the south-southeast in june. this is very vague info, but i'd be down with some (not alot) of rain and 10 degrees cooler than last year.
and it did rain for about 5 minutes last year, but i think it was too hot for it to reach the ground.
I think I am one of the very few that wasn't bothered by the heat last year.. my friends joke that I am temperature neutral. I don't really get hot or cold when I am out and about
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.

Human or Wook let us sacrifice one and hex the weather like they did in the olden days. Any practicing Wicans or Druids we would be happy to discuss this. Or at least I would in a serious manner. or Native Americans I am sure if they have a rain dance they have a happy sun day dance or something appropriate.
