Agreed... the name calling stuff is pretty silly; I still agree with the original poster's premise... despite the odds or situation you can usually will yourself into having a good time if you take the high road.

Your PM's displayed a seriously lack of self-control... much like this post. You got called out by the mods - apparently it wasn't the first time; your karma seems to reflect that.]
Umm...are you reading a different board than I am, because I wasn't called out by the mod's. As I recall, all 3 of us were told to cool it.
Again, you really shouldn't talk about what you don't know. I asked for my karma to be the lowest number possible. It's actually gone UP 198 points since last week.
I was going to pull a post from you on this thread and use it as an example at your immaturity, ignorance, and just all around worthless posts. Unfortunately, I couldn't pick just one. Actually, I struggled to pick one that didn't exemplify one of the previously mentioned characteristics. Oleander has never abused the Karma system, in fact her karma has risen nearly 200 points in the past week and a half because people on this board love her. She asked her karma to be the lowest possible because she realized the number itself doesn't really matter, and then people on Inforoo realized she deserves lots of karma because when she does provide a conflicting point of view she does so in a manner that doesn't cause eyes to roll or tempers to flare (except yours, apparently). I hope you don't find my letter immature, and decide to bash me by simply quoting me and then saying "how mighty mature of you" and then add the ever so mighty elipsis at the end.

agreed again, everyone needs to realize why we are here in the first place, and try to stay peaceful and mindful of one another. discussions and differences of opinions are fine, but the rudeness sucks

I should care, why? I love how you talk about me "bashing" people.

You know, you could've directed that at me and I still would've chuckled. I need to watch that movie again, I miss it.
And mindexpansion, i have no comment because honestly your insults are apparently soaring over my 6'6" head. I refuse to disregard the preliminary intention of this thread any further, so if you must show me any more pictures, please feel free to pm them to me... preferably with a caption under the picture so I can comprehend your intentions.

i heard there were people who actually went to Bonnaroo to have FUN! Sooooo lame. Its like they totally didn't sit in their campsite and talk about last years Bonnaroo and some of them don't even like Phish... Oh my god... so lame. There were people there who didn't mind the dust (again, so , so , lame) and they didn't do exactly what I (and EVERYONE else) did... I mean, how can you fight conformity without doing what everyone else is doing? They should have been listening to the same music I was, experiencing the vibe I wanted them to, and doing exactly what I think people at a festival should do. It was NOTHING like 2002... or that Phish show I liked... there were actually people under the age of 30 there, can you believe that? I totally won't go to Bonnaroo next year unless everyone looks like me, likes the music I like, gives me free stuff, gurantees nobody shady will be there, talks about "that Phish show" without end, dictates exactly what the 'scene' should be, and totally hates that next year won't be like this year or the year before and lets everyone know how bad of a time they had. Its not a true festival unless you are upset - ya know? Seriously, the vibe has just changed so much.
You know what, this quote summed up everything I was thinking of at the time while reading through the prior posts. I feel like he is making a huge point about everyone on the boards lately. I feel that is really childish to bash a bunch of younger (influential I would like to think) folks for experiencing roo for the first time, when they are opening themselves up to a lot of new music. Yes there are going to be some "scenesters" (in a way everyone is a scenester if you count the "jam" scene), and yes there are going to be the immature people coming in (for heavens sake it is 4 day balls to the wall party, and people not in the jam scene will figure this out and want to join in the festivities). I did not know there was a right of passage to go to the roo if you have never been before, or have other intentions of being there. It almost feels to me the worse scenesters are the jam scensters, just look in the mirror if you are going to bash someone else because they do not have the same beliefs, feelings, music taste, etc as you do. Yes, this was my first year so I can only have so much experience with roo, but I know many people that have gone to every roo (my bro for example) and he said that all around music wise, organization, ammenities, and overall experience (other than the dust, and a little bit harder to find party treats) that this year was one of the best years. A lot of people need to get off of there high horse and try to keep what everyone has gotten from roo at one time or the other, which is a very happy outlook in life and that anyone can get along with anyone on that farm. Cheers to Bonnaroo for giving the American festival a swift kick in the ass so other quality festivals can pop up in other parts of the country so that that people who are tired of roo can go to them and have a great time. I am off my soapbox now.
PS: I know I will get smited for agreeing with this guy since everyone is bashing his "opinion", but oh well I have lost at least 20 karma since being back from roo, and I hardly ever post anymore.
EDIT: Okay I started writing my post while the whole thread was on page 2, so I am sorry if this post is a little late and that the situation is hopefully resolved. I just wanted to post my point to try to help the situation out.
"That's the big thing about education. People can be book smart, but not really intelligent about anything else. A lot of times they just taking in all this information and regurgitate it. It's much more important to process it and personalize it. To apply it to your world, to your life. You have to walk the walk, or you can't really report about it honestly."

Thank you masshysteria, you understood precisely. Your name is strangely ironic in this situation too; karma for ya. I, like you, post here very little anymore... a few cool people here, but the welcome wagon seems to have gone rolling into the sunset post-Bonnaroo. To the four people I met off this board at Roo - I don't mean you guys, I swear ;D, and I'll see ya guys in the fall.

Well I still come around to see if any new sets have come up to download, but other than that a lot of the threads lately have been just depressing lately. I am sorry every time I listen to the sets that I was able to attend on my mp3 player, I no matter what get a huge smile, a little boost of energy, and I feel as if I am getting to see it again. I am also listening to a lot of bands I would not of gone out of my way to see there, but now listening to them I still get that great feeling when someone in the crowd yells out "HOLY SH*T", "BOOOOONNNNNNAAARRRRROOOO", or for the tool crowd "It looks like a spaceship is coming to get me right now man......i am tripping so hard." Even if you had a bad experience, or it is not the same as it was, people are still getting to go to bonnaroo and have there minds completely turned upside down and some may have a new outlook on life. Which could be for the first grateful dead concert you got to see, your first phish experience, or having your first psychadelic experience with tool (that was me ). Everyone has there own opinion and everyone has the right to disagree with an opinion, but just insulting someone because of their vibe, scene, looks, etc is the more immature thing, and that goes for any age group.
