I will hopefully finishing up my Roo half sleeve before Roo this year. Been working on it for a while as I tend to wait very very very long between sessions. I at least want to finish adding the color to the fountain and get the arch put on.
For those who may be wondering what my back piece means to me:
The story: My back tells the story of a woman going through a rebirth. On the top left you see a caterpillar (a Virginia Creeper to be exact - No reason behind that besides the color and style was beautiful to me). Down the left side, you see the caterpillar going through the process of forming its cocoon and evolving into its new form. The moth/woman (for lack of a better term) stretches as she wakes up as a new, beautiful form of herself. From the bottom right going up, there are various pictures portraying things in my life that have made me who I am today. First, from my childhood, a mouse and a unicorn. Then a Japanese torii. This has a double meaning - it is the symbol for the Rakkasans which is the infantry regiment my ex-husband was a part of when we met. In Japanese culture, it symbolically marks the transition from the profane to the sacred. Next are the drama masks showing the traditional division of comedy and tragedy - something we all encounter in our lives. At the very top are two figures - the lady and the mother. The two sides of myself. One cannot exist without the other. Running through the top of the piece are music notes as that's been the one constant piece of my soul that has always been and will always be in my life.

Contemplating dipping into my Roo fund to get a small Roo tattoo. I mean, it IS for roo... right??? Should I do it?!
At this point I'd wait until after the festival. Don't wanna deal with a fresh tattoo still healin' in the extreme conditions The Farm is known to have.
If you can get it this weekend, you'll have time to heal. However - don't spend money set aside for something else and don't sacrifice quality for a quick tattoo.
I'm almost 61 and have always wanted a tattoo. It's an easy way to identify the body....
This is my first Bonnaroo and since it's been a "bucket list" item maybe I should get a small one somewhere to commemorate it! But I like the advice to wait until after roo.
