I heard about the overturned truck from friends driving home Monday. We drove home Tuesday from Nashville and just outside of Louisville there was another overturned truck. Yikes.

I lucked out ... I drove west instead of north. But it wasn't as easy as I thought it would be.
I got sent back down the way I came in, down 41 to Pellham and Exit 127. That took me right to 64 and I thought I could follow it to Memphis and cut off some miles.
Huge mistake. The first 50 miles were fine, then I ran into the construction. Miles and miles of it with a 45 mph speed limit. Then I ran into a thunderstorm. All told it took me 6 hours to get to Memphis, where I could've done it in a little more than 4 on the interstate.

I may or may not have ignored the 45mph signs when there was no construction anywhere in sight. It was very annoying, especially with the dust-born illness my friend and I both had on the way back home.
Well, bless all your little hearts. What a shame that Kentucky didn't stop their road construction for a festival NOWHERE FUNKING NEAR KENTUCKY. I guess the states you live in never cause delays due to construction. Maybe next year you can try to get there without driving through this BEAUTIFUL state. You little biitches complain about something every goddamned year...I sure hope someone someday reads your little internet rants and makes all these necessary changes for you to be able to live your life. p.s. Bless your little heart is a euphanism for FUNK OFF, CRYBABIES!
Don't take offense kballard. Everyone likes to bitch about road construction. In Tennessee, the orange cones are our unofficial state bird. And don't get me stared about Memphis.

Things I dont like about my state: Current elective government, glorification of binge/problem drinking, hero worship of certain athletes, driving in downtown Madison, heightened false senses of entitlement throughout our many college campuses, Texas-lite high school football reverence, deer running into my car with regularity, the inability of the weather to make up its goddam mind, the Bucks, athletes making horrible local commercials all the time, Mark Chmura, the plethora of serial killers, domestic violence, etc.
See, it's ok to find fault in one's surroundings. I like Wisconsin, too, but I'm not Wisconsin. Nor are you Kentucky so you probably shouldnt take this thread too personally.

Maybe you guys shouldn't be so terrible at road construction and handling traffic.
It would have been fine. If you know...anyone was actually working.
I think through the whole state I saw maybe three actual people working. And we drove at both night and day so they just had the lanes closed without any real work being done.
You my dear need to settle down a little. It's no big deal, we all made it home eventually. Then we came here to this Bonnaroo discussion board to discuss our trip home from Bonnaroo.
This year Kentucky sucked to drive through. I bet if I had to drive through it again this week it would suck just as badly. If there were this kind of construction in Ohio we would all comment on that. Same with PE and NY.

I don't think anybody said it wasn't a beautiful state. It really is beautiful. We got a really longggggg slowwwww look at it.

Also Kentucky, when you advertise a Dunkin Donuts, I expect a Dunkin Donuts where I can get an egg sandwich, not a Dunkin Donuts "Express" where they just have the coffee.

Also, it is generally accepted in these parts that if you drive through construction and they are taking the day off....you ignore all speed notices etc.

you should look at Gatewood and Riley as your Governor and Lt. Governor. Thanks Paul for the introduction. He sounds like a level headed guy, then he says this.
