Fuck you.
Non-existent road work but still closing down lanes, some actual very small road work but lanes closed for miles, and an overturned fireworks truck that blew the top off of the truck driver's truck.
THANK YOU! KENTUCKY CAN SUCK IT WITH ITS ONE LANE FUCKINGGGGGG ROADS!!!!! Made me miss seeing my wife on my wedding anniversary. THANK YOU KENTUCKY I WILL NEVER FORGIVE YOU!
Wait a minute?! The overturned truck carrying fireworks blew the top off of your truck, or someone else's? I can't tell if that was first or 3rd Person.
Holy hell screw Kentucky. I live in Pittsburgh its construction season 365 days a year. However it should never take me 2 extra hours. The entire state was under construction. I was so pissed by the time I got to the hotel in Tennessee.
Spending an extra six hours sitting in a car during an eight hour drive is not very pleasant at all. Cars were breaking down left and right and people were just leaving them in the middle of the road. We saw them driving out and setting the cones up. It was completely unnecessary. Why would you do construction on a road when you know during that weekend you will have about 50,000 more people driving on it?
It wouldnt have been nearly as bad if they were actually doing construction. Theres no need to close 5 miles of road before a half mile bit of construction

The construction workers all looked like they had no idea what they were doing too.
like seriously one lane? You have to know that there is going to be Bonnaroo traffic. There was no need for it to be an entire state of one lane highway!
Boo Kentucky! Took us way longer to get home that it should have.
16 hours to get back to Buffalo, was not expecting that.
Missed our flights thanks to 3 hours in one lane with no sign of any real work occuring. Dude on the 'help desk' line said $1500 to get home now. Thankfully we ignored him and went to the airport anyways and got home 1 am-ish. The other half of our crew got delayed 12 hours due to missing the RV drop off closing time. They are still working their way home. Boo!!

I live in NE Ohio (Perpetual Constructionland), and even I hate Kentucky now. I got off of I-65 (?) and took 31 for a while, trusting the GPS and a couple of truck drivers who looked like the were trying to avoid the delays, which definitely worked.
Then there was the fireworks truck. Talk about timing. Seriously, a fireworks truck flips over a mile ahead of me? When I've been away from home for a week and am desparate for such luxuries like a warm shower and some clean socks? I never thought I would be literally standing on I-71, making phone calls and smoking. That BS, and a wonderful detour through some more nondescript farmland south of Manchester, courtesy of the TN State troopers, turned my sub 10-hour return trip into a 12+ hour fiasco. My friend (who didn't drive or pay for any gas on the way down, then rode back with someone else and didn't chip in for gas) didn't take the route 31 detour, and needed even longer, so it could have been even worse. 8 hours straight I can do, any time. 12 hours all at once with no help really pushed me to the limit.
there was a car on 65 that got in an accident not too far into kentucky on sunday afternoon....they were from roo....looked like they fell asleep at the wheel and veered off the road...it took an hour and a half to go 2 1/2 miles cause they closed both lanes and cars had to pass on the shoulder...i was making great time too hahaha

13 hours to get home to chicago. 7.5 to get down there. When we did drive by the construction guys, we did lay on the horn and flip them all off. Assholes. It at least made us feel better at the time.

I forgot about the I-65 construction on our drive back to Michigan, so we enjoyed it twice. Anyone else see the "HELL IS REAL" billboard on their way north. It certainly felt real right then
it's so hard to forget pain, but it's even harder to remember sweetness. we have no scars to show for happiness. we learn so little from peace. -chuck palahniuk
Just thank christ you didn't venture into Mississippi.
What's that supposed to mean??? There was virtually no construction in Mississippi - one 8 mile section of one lane that we had no problems with at all

We got up at a WAY-too-early 6 a.m. Monday in order try to avoid the clusterfu%* traffic on the way back north through Kentucky, and it worked for the most part. Just a few slow downs. (At that crazy early hour, we saw only a handful of dusty 'roo cars). Still, I wholeheartedly support this thread because Kentucky stuck it to us on the way down with their phantom construction and miles of orange barrels. (I kept joking to my passengers Kentucky must have asked to borrow all those barrels from every other contiguous state).

I drive up and down 1-65 numerous times each year traveling from home (Frankfort, Ky) to school (Bowling Green, Ky). I usually have no problems....it is just unfortunate that these accidents had to happen during Roo traffic. They are attempting to widen a large portion of the interstate to make it 3-4 lanes instead of the current 2..so as you can imagine this is a long, drawn out process. It gets old but i'm so used to it by now that I don't even pay attention to it. As for the "HELL IS REAL" and other billboards....Welcome to the bible belt friends. You will find those all over the south....usually across the interstate from porn shops lol.
