Fuck stub hub I just want to take my girl to the damn show in Nashville there are still hundreds of those tickets floating around on ebay, stub hub, and craigslist and probably a few other places i never checked. Fucking dirty ass scalpers one of these days I want to stalk these people we all know who they are in their white tshirts back to where they return their money and kick the dudes ass getting the money kick it really really hard then waterboard him and generally do some Mk-Ultra Hannibal lecter stuff where he winds up eating his own brains screaming about the nice "broth". Probably a made man of respect or something there is a clear pattern at least in Nashville. I think that we should organize people who do not get into shows and have them follow these street corner hustlers down and do such a thing. My girl done told me she would bail me out of jail if I saw one in front of The Ryman and set upon them like I was Jesus and just saw some money changers. I know somebody is making a living off of this and all but it is not right. Its like thos assholes who buy up all of the new gaming systems , Ipod/pad/phones/tampons and drive the price up so you cannot give your soccer pups a new chew toy for christmas only YOU are the one teething on yourself.

Got tickets the other day for the Ryman show on Tuesday for me and my wifes one year anniversary. Now let me explain, she is Jack White crazy, me I can't wait to see Jack White but at the same time.. I just forked over $289 for two tickets on the main floor section W. haha. If it wasn't a special occasion I probably would have just saved that cash for bonnaroo. But, cant complain. We are still gettn to see him wether or not he comes to Roo..

These Orange Peel prices are ridiculous. I've been trying to get a ticket for under $200 since the onsale, but I haven't seen anything under $300. I'm thinking about just hanging out at the door that day and negotiating with some desperate scalper.

When tickets are selling for 300$ online there is no such thing as a desperate scalper.
quack my Ringo Starr ticket to The Ryman for his SOLD OUT Birthday show is only going for $96 on Stub Hub. I have got down and dirty on a few Ebay bids where it got fierce on prices I had to set up an account I have never used Ebay before. This is the first real show I have ever really been shut down on by a scalper this is ridiculous how can Jack White cost more money then a Beatle? I am about to say quack it order my girl a ticket and go sit in the alleyway behind the Ryman and eat some barbecue at Jack's I know that is quacked up but hell today I looked again and prices are just shooting up as the lower priced tickets are cleaned out. I'll let her go in and check out the show. I have seen every single one of Jack White's bands and this is ridiculous for a solo show I know he is good and all but it is to close to Bonnaroo time to burn through this amount of money for me personally. Who knows maybe I can sit out front and get a street level scalper like 20 minutes into the show I will just be like chilling with a $50 in my hand saying stuff like you want to loose all of your buy money? or however it works there is a genius mastermind behind this organized scalping maybe they get them on front? hell maybe I need to get a job with them(fuck that!X2) all I know 20 minutes into the show those tickets are going to be worthless. So maybe they will want "some money" unless they got to return those tickets to the mastermind and have "all the tickets and all the money@ FULL PRICE" Maybe this will be my great sociological moment to go chill with them and interview them and see how it works from "the inside" I dont give a poop how much of the show I see as the fact is over half of the show will be stuff I have already seen played by the original group he was in at the time. I am just going to this show for love and money will not get in the way even though it is. I just want someone I love to get her dream and hell I might learn a thing or two about a heinous type of crime I have yet to get into. Either way I think I will be able to properly school people on this sad subject in the future after next week. The only other time I ever bought off of a scalper was for a Deftones show in Nashville that was sold out. It was quick painless and cost me double. I had been working a lot at the time and just happened to have a I am going to call into work tomorrow day and decided to go. I was like quack it even if I drive down and do not score tickets I will go to a strip club/bar crawl. Needless to say I got trashed and never made it out of Nashville that night after the show.

I'm wondering that myself. What's up with the insane demand for this man? Is this just kids who were too young to see White Stripes trying to make up for the fact now?
I am going to take this investigation to the street. I do not live in a big city and have no "inner" knowledge as to the workings of how the "scalping industry" works. If anyone has any direct knowledge please feel free to contact me through PM or forum. I know there are a lot of independent operators out there. However I know organized crime when I see it and I have seen nuances of it at multiple shows. Hell how does everyone think that a sold out show all of the sudden in the moments after it sells out has 25% of tickets appear back for sale online? WHo are these "business hipsters" that pick and then pillage available tickets hmmm? I have seen a lot of Main Floor section 3 & 6 tickets for the Jack White show on sale online? I might be shouting conspiracy theory but I know one thing for sure after many years of being on this board is that my madness will be entertained and sometimes "amplified". Anyway I have to go "undercover" I will be strolling in front of The Ryman with an "I NEED TICKETS" sign and try at first steppping on toes of the locals. This is not Las Vegas and the "DO NOT BURN THE LOCALS" mentality of Hunter S. Thompson shall not reign. Indeed these street level scalpers are most assuradly locals who have burned the music city tourists. Maybe it is time to shed a little light on them and their role in in my frustrations. What I want is the brain behind the operation.

Does anyone think that they are using "shills" to drive up the price of the tickets on ebay and stub hub? I have been reading up on shilling a psychological manipulation device for instance you buy up a block of 10 tickets for $50 a piece that is $500 yet some of the more desirable tickets get let loose for $500 a piece say you sell 4 of them that is $2000. If you can sell some of the others that would be "cool" if not you are out any money for real. Hypothetically can I say count on the downside of the "shill" the day of the show? After all at the last minute peopel are not driving in from out of town for tickets they can "possibly" get most of the time. Therefore will it be a goal of the scalper to recoup some of the loss? What about the other 6 tickets? Can I count on greed to nail those other 6 tickets as they are desperate to squeeze every last cent out of the investment? en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shill its like some girl or guy at the bar looking for a sugar momma/ daddy. Doing a calculated gamble for somebody that is both desperate and full of money?

I'm wondering that myself. What's up with the insane demand for this man? Is this just kids who were too young to see White Stripes trying to make up for the fact now?
It's all part of the marketing strategy, I think it has very little to do with fans. Jack's team have booked only a handful of shows in select markets at venues they KNOW will sell out instantly. They KNOW more than 2000 people in Detroit or Nashville will want to see Jack, but what hypes up the release of an album more than a completely sold-out IMPOSSIBLE TO GET TICKETS TO tour? This high demand for tiny shows also drives up the demand for tickets to festivals Jack is playing at -- festivals for which he will be taking home huge-ass paychecks because of how little he is playing elsewhere. Once the festival proximity clauses expire, I think we can expect to see a more realistic tour, where Jack hits up markets he skips and plays venues that will more fairly equate to the demand.
Also, not accusing Third Man of doing this, but they could very well be holding on to a few tickets for resale themselves. They have been very vocal about how proud they are of the money they get for flipping some of their stuff on eBay.
Either way, as with anything Jack White, it is all very weird.
yfrog.com/mgah4qcj Jack White headlining ACL. Still wondering how Bonnaroo dropped the ball on him. Still holding on to hopes, as small as it may seem, of LN Which.
I'm not a big fan of Blunderbuss but I would love to see Jack White because it's Jack White. Sadly I never got to see the White Stripes, and seeing the Dead Weather didn't really cut it for me.
You're just too young to grasp how stylin' I really was. All the boys wanted to do me when I was 5. Actually the girls did too. My haircut was confusing.

I don't think it's all that surprising. This is tabloid stuff for now. Glad to hear no reports of physical violence or threats have surfaced. Things can get ugly in high profile custody battles. He has had some run ins with the law in the past over altercations with other musicians.
The filing also states that White accused Elson of being disrespectful for attending the wedding of another entertainer whom he says also ripped off his music.
