Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
Didn't we already decide last year that hippies don't know how to use computers and the numbers are therefore skewed.
PS Nicthedick looks like a pretty nice guy from the picture
I think they can use computers just fine, but no doubt are the numbers skewed. It's just a question of which way.
LOL yeah don't they have to like use computers to buy their tickets?
also as you said, those are 12,000 or so votes out of the 80,000+ that would attend. a better representation than that of inforoo's, but still not a totally accurate one.
I don't go to roo for the bands, I go for the music, and the experience.
While Eminem were playing last year, I watched belly dancers....what fun, so even when those playing you "don't" want to see, there is something else you will enjoy, but finding musicians I don't want to listen to is almost non-existent...it's mostly all good.
Two years ago, Stevie Wonder on Saturday night.....probably never be another performer that attracts the other performers like Stevie....heard almost all of them stayed to see him.

This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

On a semi related note, will there be single day passes? I feel like they had those in previous years, but maybe I'm thinking of something else. I have a friend who can't make the whole weekend but could swing it either Saturday or Sunday.
I don't remember them ever having single day passes. They do give out quite a few tickets to locals (or used to) to keep them from griping about the noise, but no single day passes.
Oh, and the start, was a replacement for the original festival called Itchycoo, which never took off...think they had at most, 20k show up for that, but the first year of Bonnaroo was a smashing success and the farm was quite a bit smaller....

It's the music, not the bands....
...the bands write the music...
So, you only want to hear music performed originally?
"Knocking on Heavens Door" is a great example (and song), originally by Dylan, but also recorded by Clapton and Guns n Roses.
ehh I feel the #'s for Phish are pretty accurate. Phish has dates in MA on the 7th and 8th, and then NJ 5 days after roo. I don't think many phans that are going on tour are gonna shell out $300+ to catch the last day of a festival
I kind of agree, but don't forget about the neglected south. I'm in Atlanta and I haven't been to 'Roo since 2009, but Phish, Radiohead, Umphrey's, and Ben Folds Five in one weekend make it a no-brainer and I know a lot of fans (phans, lol) who feel the same way.
Our team leader at AC fan corps said they were shipping 100,000 wristbands out of the central shipping center. I know she was right about wristbands starting to ship last Tuesday so here credibility is there. I just don't know if that is true though. Maybe they are getting close to selling out, maybe not.
It seems to me like ticket sales are pretty low this year, at least compared to years past. I'm not complaining. I fully expected every show this year to be like Sleigh Bells last year when the lineup first dropped. I'll be very happy if attendance is down from last year.
They just sent out the "tickets in short supply email". I guess it will probably sell out some time early next week.
Is this not just a marketing ploy to try and gain a rush?
Like Juggs said in the other thread, it probably has to do more with it getting close to the deadline where they can't take the order and guarantee it will get to the person in time.

I would actually disagree. If they were not sold out they could have tickets in hand to sell at the gate. It could be either or but they did send an email a few weeks ago a out VIP almost being sold out. If they are not at 100Kish they will be close

Nah, doubt it. That same email said they will sell-out before the gates open, which to me means they are not expecting to sell all of their allotment of tickets. They are probably going to come out a day or two before the gates open and say they are sold out since it would be extremely hard for Bonnaroo to process and ship a ticket to someone across the country a day or two before the fest.
I don't think they sell tickets at the gate, and from what I remember from the first few years I've gone, the only people who could do will call were international folks.
I hope the crowd size mimics 2010's ticket sales as opposed to last years massive turn-out, I feel I liked the mass of people in 2010, 2011 was a few too many people. Wow, i sound like a picky little biatch.
