It's a little late- but I got my 'Tu on Thursday! and I love it! My mom was like "Kara- someone sent you an empty box!" Since it was so light, and when I opened it, *POOF* it came out like a caged animal! Thanks so much Fawn!! It's PERFECT

I purchased some bright yellow short shorts to go under my yellow and white tutu. I am wearing a white tank with it. I also got a white floppy hat from Target

Thank you Mayo! You put so much creativity into the rootus you made and put in so many hours on them. I love mine so much, hopefully it will make it through several fests.

I don't really own much as far as tanks (at least ones that aren't meant for layering) and shorts. I am mostly a dress only girl (even when not at fests).. I did grab this.. purple long short/tanktop thing, that I might be able to make it work with some yoga shorts... it would match nicely, but I have to see how bad I look it it. I have never worn it without something over it and my tutu was already corralled when I packed the shirt.

Bonz - Im wearing short running shorts under mine. And i have sports bras and bikini tops that match - i was gonna go without tanks, but since it may be more pleasant than in years past, i'll be rocking a tank too.

After staring at the the tu and the box and the task that laid before me for quite awhile last night, my tu is packed and in my car!
WOOHOOO!!! Can you spare some of that motivation? I neeeeeds it, sista! I made considerable progress in the RooTu construction last night: managed to get ALMOST ALL of the tulle cut into strips. It's only taken me A MONTH to get this far.
Y'all should start taking bets on whether it will actually be fully completed in time for Brunch. It's anybody's guess at this point!

Seeing all these fab Rootus around the farm is going to be SO great. Thanks Mayo for starting it all and thanks to QSAROO for gifting me my favorite thing I have packed!!

I made one for my friend who's going (using Mayo's tutorial) and it was SUPER easy. It took maybe an hour to get everything cut and tied on but we were sipping wine and running our mouths (what we do BEST), so it can probably be done quicker.

I had so much fun wearing my tutu that I've decided to make at least one more for next year.
I've actually watched Mayo make one at my house (I still find glitter from that fabric in my house!!), but that was a while ago so hopefully the tutorial will be enough for me.

Robin - your hubs was a champ, dude!!! Im so glad he loved his Tu and rocked it all weekend!!!
EVERYONE's Tus were majestic!!! I was blown away by the creativity that I saw at brunch. You guys really killed it. I also got approached a couple times by strangers who said, "RooTu! Can I take my picture with you?!" it was really cool ;D
You all best believe, I'll be all over these RooTus from now on ROOTUS FOREVER!!!

Just want to publicly thank Mayo AGAIN! My corn-tu was AMAZING. I can't tell you how many comments I got all day from girls, also wearing tutus, that were like "ow!!" and like "nothing sexier than a guy in a rootu "
I have to share my favorite RooTu moment though:
I ran into Bonami Belgian at Fitz and the Tantrums and he's like "you are going to scare away the girls with your tutu" or something like that, I go "no way man the girls love this! i can't tell u how many comments I get from hot girls" and he was like "sure sure" with a disbelieving look. MOMENTS later there was a group of girls nearby that came up and said they loved my rootu, and asked if i could take a picture with them, i happily obliged. upon returning to our group, Bonami so graciously rescinds and says nothing but "i want one."
A bunch of us were sitting at the picnic tables outside of the brewers tent for the arcadian meet up thursday when a lovely young women came up and asked if i was Fawn. She said she'd been lurking, found the video, and used it to make her first Tu. That was an awesome moment!!
Mayo - your Tu's are amazing and gave me tons more ideas! You rule lady M!!

I LOVE my Tutu. As our group walked from RV to brunch we got so many ^5s and had our photos taken with some gals. I had girls and guys tell me all day that they loved the tutu. Mine is carefully hung up and I plan on taking it to Moog too after I add more poof to the back and lights! Thank you again Mayo and everyone who wore their TuTu, it was so great seeing all of them!
For Post-Roo RooTu care - Just want to throw this out there since Abra reminded me by saying hers is carefully hung up - if you want your RooTus to stay fluffy - hang them on a hanger, and take the time to pull all the strips out and down straight, so there's no crinkling of individual strips. Make sure all the strips are pulled around the waistband correctly so no strips are "coming out the top". Then if you dont have room to keep it hung up, do the "Packing method" described on page 14 of this thread. but instead of a shoebox, store it in a walmart/kroger/grocery plastic bag. Just twiiiiiist it on in there, and tie the top. Then when you want to wear it again, just take it out, and hang it upside down on a hanger so the tulle falls out into the circle.
SOOOOO HAPPY WITH ALL THE TUS THIS YEAR!
And Mattata, I think MoogTus are definitely in order.
