our Short-Cut trail at BC this year. Last BC, we did our first Short-Cut trail and it was underwater themed. You can see the Youtube video by clicking---> HERE. We did another at Wanee and Purple Hatters Ball Day and Night This is to be the best on yet, I plan on filling in some of the openness and adding more visual stimulation along the trail. More lights!!! I invite you all to come check out what we are going to create. We are just down the road from Funk N Jam, we are "Short-Cut Camp". Well the "exit" for the trail is just down the road, we actually camp off the road that goes behind the amphitheater and to the general store area. This is the "start" of the trail. I use those lights in the trees to tell people how to get there. Although you can go in either direction, in its design, you "start" and "exit" here. In other words, when you leave the gate by the Amphitheater, stay to your left, then take a left, keeping to the left, the bath house and swing set should now be on your right, you will see us just past that on the LEFT.
I plan on arriving to SOSMP on Tuesday. If anybody is getting there earlier and knows this area, help with securing the land would be great. I have talked to most everyone around the area and all agree to save me room and I am getting there on Tuesday, so land grab should not be an issue, but still I want to create something special and this certain area is needed. Also, if you are there and want to help. We could always use that! We have a lot of decorations and lights and could use any assistance offered. We have a lot of lazers and lights, but could always use more. If interested this is what we are using. We encourage you to add to the trail. We only ask, that nothing is for sale. We do not allow anyone to advertise or sell anything along the trail. The trail is a gift to the Bear Creek community. It serves a purpose of making a "short-cut" through the woods, from the road that goes behind the amphitheater and behind the general store/barn stage/bar, from that road, it goes to Hippie road. Then we decorate it and make it unique! If you want to be creative and help create it or have something to add to it, we would love for that! although I am designing this, I would like for the community to help create it, I want people to be a part of it. I want you to help, because that is less work I have to do, :lol: but, honestly I want others to have a part in its creation. Then we all have a part in this! We will be using yarn to help make barriers/walls, and will need help stringing that. We have a lot of decorations that need to be hanged. Like I said, I will be there on Tuesday and will be working on this all day Wednesday. Maybe some final touches on Thursday. If you want to help, Please feel free to stop by. If you have not found your creative bone and any form of manual labor at a festival is out the question, but still want to help, we can always use more visual stimulation and LED lights are great for that. That sounds pretty cool Scrog, I'd love to head up early and help out but I'm jammed up at work pretty late on Thursday. I can't wait to see how it turns out.
I only had enough vacation left to take friday and half a day thursday, but I am going to try to talk my boss into allowing me to not come in at all thursday and make up those hours the following week.

10 day forecast hasn't quite reached the full Bear Creek weekend, but its looking like lows in the 50s. Doesn't seem so bad, anyone remember what it was last year?
Seriously though, it was pretty damn cold. Better bring your warm stuff. Layers are your friend, as well as gloves.
oh i'll do the full southern boy don't like the cold get up, don't worry. ;D gunna bring a bunch of hand warmers too, those things were awesome last year.
Testicicles are the worst! Ya'll better get a nut warmer and according to ask Yahoo, The library is the best place for that. ??? Caddy, did I hear you were not coming to BC this year? what up with that?!
It does get cold at night time and it is colder under the Oak tress as well. Still, I do not think this year will be as bad as last year, which I think Thursday was into the 30's.

Zen does this mean it is "official"? can I get more excited now?! Not about nip-sicles, but about you coming to BC as well, although nip-sicles are exciting!

Long Johns were crucial for me last year. Bought a pair just for the trip.
I too will be popping my BC cherry next week! Can't wait to get back to the SOSMP and hang with the InfoBC crew. At MagFest last year it was in the mid 30s and DAMN cold...got sucked into hanging around the cozy campfires and missed moe. Memo to self...pack more warm clothes. Esp gloves. Scrog, I hear they like to dress up at BC, you planning anything special?
Zen, I would say yes and no. Any kind of snug leg warmers will work. Layers is key, even layers on the legs. Last year we had temps in the 30's, camping under the Oak and Pine trees, it can even feel colder than that. This year it looks now to be a low in the 50's. So I do not think it will be as cold as last year, but now I say that, I have jinx myself and it will be cold as fuck.

There might be an influx of Pandas on Friday night, it is "Party Animal" night at BC. So there will be a lot of animals out. Then Saturday night is "Warm and Fuzzy" night, so I would say pack accordingly.
