He's done this before with other things. Basically asking people something and seeing if they will lie on camera or just admit they don't know what they are talking about. The iPhone one was great. Tons of people saying the new iPhone 5 is so much better and quicker and lighter than their iPhone 4.......meanwhile the thing they are talking about and holding is a regular iPhone 4.
With cutting-edge humor like "Hipster's like bands that don't even exist" I'm surprised Kimmel isn't the one taking over for Leno.
This is only partially relevant, but I heard a stat recently about the median age of the late night TV audiences and aside from Conan, Stewart and Colbert, they're all well into the 50s. I think Fallon might be right at 50. I found it surprising just because I never really thought about it before.

I think the Jimmy Kimmel video is a fake. They ask them about real bands, then dub in the fake questions later. Never does the person on camera repeat the bogus name.
On Reddit several people have said that they knew people in the videos (one person provided a picture of them with one of the guys) and that it wasn't fake. However he did say that his friend called them out on the fact that they were making up bands and that part was just cut out.
What did you think of Coachella when you went, Godzilla?
Is there a new rule restricting our opinions to happenings we only witness first-person?
Just curious if your experience matched the preconceived notions you've been so eager to share with us. You said you were thinking about going, correct?

I said I had been on the fence between Coach and Roo and that Coachella's dismal lineup made the decision easy, hence my being in this thread the day the lineup was announced. Judging by the widely reported small crowds at some of the biggest names on the bill, yes, it appears that my preconceived notion of it being an entirely underwhelming card was indeed confirmed.

There were lots of people at Blur and Phoenix, not as big as Roo, but there were 4 other acts on at the same time.
Maybe I'm crazy, but I just think judging an entire class of people without ever having interacted with them is sorta bigoted. Much like it's not okay to assume everyone who listens to ASAP Rocky is some sort of thug or ruffian.
Wouldn't the fact that the crowd was dispersed pretty widely across five acts at the time of a headliner actually speak to the depth and quality of the card?

Yes, Blur and Phoenix had sort-of big crowds, Stone Roses and Nick Cave had what The Guardian described as "criminally small" crowds, but at least a big crowd turned out for *cough* the RHCP.
It's funny that you're so defensive of the Coach crowd. I have friends that live all over California - one of the reasons I was considering attending this year - and every one of them will tell you that the Scene stereotype is proven true more often than not at shows out there.
You're cherry picking in an attempt to find support for your position.
Everyone from NME to the LA Times ran articles on the small crowds, and there is even a discussion on the Coachella board specifically about weekend two having smaller crowds.
Were you people at the same Blur show I was at? The crowd was NOT big by any means. I was on the left side facing the stage, AHEAD of the sound board tent, and had enough room to lay down on the ground. And im fat.....
I just got back from Coachella WK 2 and had a blast. Some of my favorite sets were Grinderman, Pete Tong->Four Tet, Hot Chip, Jamie XX->the 2 Bears, Cloud Nothings, DIIV, Thee Oh Sees, and James Blake. Some other highlights for me were the Giant Snail, The Mirage with projections on it at night, the Coachella Power Station ( coachellapowerstation.com ), and seeing multitudes of people wearing hearing protection. The addition of the Yuma tent was awesome, and I don't think they should change one thing about it. The Do Lab on the other hand needs to be moved. The crowds seemed smaller/better, and for that reason alone, I'm seriously considering doing weekend 2 from now on.

The snail was great. Me and EAP intended to use it as a meeting spot on the first day, and then a few hours later I got this text from her: "The snail moved"
Coachella, always with cute surprises. Also, I wish Bonnaroo had more art.
Ha ha. Not a great meet-up spot. I'm not sure if anyone caught this, but the snail emitted a "snail trail" of soaps suds from time to time. Pretty cool stuff.

I heard about the trail and it was on the Coachella map, but never saw it myself.

The power station was unreal. I remember stopping off after Phoenix to just stand on the edge and watch. If you were lucky enough, sometimes a bolt of electricity would come RIGHT towards you. It was exhilirating, dare I say... electric.
It reminded me of being at a baseball game and thinking you are going to get hit by the ball coming towards you, but then all of a sudden you are relieved because the net got it first.

Grass was dirt by the time Saturday/Sunday went around. We were in the KROQ tent cooling off on the couches, and then moved a couch to take a look at how the grass looked just a week before. Damn, you guys had some nice grass. Wish I took a picture to show the comparison.
