So supposedly on philly radio someone called in and said him and his friends are "Planning on tearing down the fences and getting in for free, becaus it was too expensive" Not sure how true this is. Seems dumb to me though, just going to ruin something for everyone and make secur tity ridiculously strict. Any thoughts or concerns? I got my ticket for both day and am extremely pumped. Are people meeting up for this?
Ugh, I hope not. I don't want a fun time ruined by riots. Though, ever since the Phillies won the World Series, it seems like Philadelphia police are pretty well trained/prepared for those type of situations. People are crazy though..especially in this town.
I don't want to get too excited, but ya I'm getting excited for a Springsteen appearance.
Are you basing this on the fact he'll be in town, and shares political leanings with Jay and Vedder, or is there a hot rumor I'm missing?
But yes, The Boss and Beyonce would take this from a 9.5 to about a 15.
Na, no hot rumor...I'm just a sucker for this kind of connecting the dots. I'm still not entirely sold on the whole Chris Cornell bailing either. I just think it's fishy he is playing the Obama thing Saturday, nothing forseeable on Sunday, was only added not that long ago, from the very beginning Jay-z has thrown around Obama's name inconnection to the fest and the fest clearly has some political motivation behind it. But, hey that's just me.
Sincerly, The guy who went to Unchained AND Pedrito Martinez

if you go to made in americas facebook page and click the comments under the story about cornell dropping out they make a comment that the cbs schedule is fake and that there will be no conflict between jayz, skrillex, and calvin harris. they also say the schedule will be out shortly. Im thinking we will get the real one tomorrow

Oh hell yeah. That's a tasty schedule. I'm an EDM fan when the time calls for it, but I'm definitely glad I'll only be trying to venture into that tent once for a quick shot of DJ Shadow. My only minor complaint is the Coachella length set times for all the non-headliners. And I could use more Jay and PJ time, but whatever.
The Hives > Santigold > maybe Rita Ora? (likely drink tall beers) > Jill Scott > DJ Shadow > Run DMC > Odd Future > Drake > maybe a few songs of X but likely just try to get a good spot for > Pearl Jam
FTW?
Oh, and I'll drop everything (except my beer) and jog over to wherever Beyonce hopefully gets to throw down. (not that I'm really holding my breath)
apparently during the 2 hour gap each day on the liberty stage at 545 there is going to be a special guest. surprise beyonce set sat? someone else sunday

Any chance Bruce could do Sunday? I don't know the geography of Philly to know whether that's feasible. It's probably not feasible for other reasons (his voice, E-Street equipment, etc), but it's a nice little dream.
On second thought, ... (wait for your head to get blown) ... couldn't Bruce and co. play Saturday and Beyonce play Sunday?
Sounds like I might be skipping D'Angelo in hopes of something wild and crazy. What a paradox.
That map makes it look like the Liberty Stage is much smaller than the Freedom Tent though, which confuses me. Also, it's hard for me to imagine there won't be sound bleeding over from the dance tent, which would suck.
I walked by today and the stages looked nearly complete. The liberty stage itself is a smallish stage, but there's a decent amount of space between it and the tent so hopefully theres no sound bleed.
It's gonna be a shitshow for sure. One thing that Philly people know how to do is get sloppy! It's gonna be just as packed along the parkway outside the festival as it will be inside the festival.
If anyone is looking for something to do the night before, Big Freedia will be playing at Silk City Friday night.
