Unfortunately I think I just decided to do just that and wait in the pit line all day. Anyone have ny expience with the pit line? How's the sound for the shows and how are the sit lines. Should I just grab a great spot right behind the pit next to the sound board and be done with it?

I waited through The Decemberists and My Morning Jacket for Arcade Fire and the sights and sounds from the pit line were fine.

I feel like now that I've seen the schedule for the first time I had a true grasp that this is really happening!! I mean, I just don't think it truly sank in and I felt like I was probably going to wake up and Sir Paul wouldn't really be at Roo but gosh darnit he really is. YAY!!
My understanding is that the pit line for the headliner starts at the beginning of the day and they empty the pit after each show so there are multiple pit lines for multiple shows. Outside of the pit you can camp as close as you can get from the moment you get there.
So yeah once you arrive from of monsters get as close as you can. I think it may be difficult by then which is why i plan on waiting in the pit line or at least at the back of the pit area on the rail in from of the regular field. it depends on my line of sight form the pit line and the sound. But both should be ok if I get there early enough.
I just decided to skip Calexico right now I would love to see them but I would rather get a real good spot for McCartney.
another reason I plan on staying all day is that by the time I get from one stage to another say, ten minutes each way sometimes more, it's already time to come back. Ad I barely catch a few songs and am worried about my spot for the next show. Most of my conflicts are hard against each other (Björk v Dwight Yoakum, wu tang v zz top, and super soul dance party v billy idol) anyways and I would rather see a full set than worry about what I missed from each.
Just make sure you go to the right side of the pit, it's much easier to get than the left side. Just my two cents see you there!
Friday is going to be one of the best days of my life.
I'm just stoked that I'll get to share that moment with some amazing people. I can't wait to see you all there.
Just curious where will you be at Midnight and 2:30am? Thinking im just gonna bite the bullet and do a Wu Tang to Pretty Lights sit in but since PL is gonna play till the sunrise I may sneak over to AnCo for a bit then cut back to PL.

I'll be at Wu Tang and then over to Animal Collective. Animal Collective is my friend who's coming with me number 2 (heh), so I'll just join him on it.

As in stage right? Closer to the which and the rest of centeroo or the other side of the field?

Keep in mind that Paul will likely play well over his scheduled set time. So miss the end of Paul or the beginning of Wu. The choice is yours.

"Sir Paul McCartney has swapped Beatles for grasshoppers - after a stage invasion by a swarm of the creatures.
The star managed to complete his performance despite being buzzed by a cloud of the insects as he played on stage in Brazil.
Animal-lover Sir Paul carried on for almost three hours in Goiania as he remained unfazed by the grasshoppers which even landed on him during the show.
One remained on his shoulder for much of the show and the musician introduced his new pal to the 47,000-strong crowd as Harold.
As he sang "Hey Jude", Sir Paul turned to Harold as he sang the words "the movement you need is on your shoulder", adding "it certainly is now"."
I think I figured it all out. The reason that roo has a 30 minute gap on Friday is for Paul! AC knows Paul will go over his set time, so they created that 30 minute gap, which allows late night acts like zz top and wu tang to be pushed back half an hour. This allows people to still catch most of the late night acts and Paul can play a longer set, everyone wins.

If they "know" he'll go over his time, why not just give him a longer set and make the late nights start a half hour later?
This is the first message board I've ever been on, the only reason I joined is because I love Bonnaroo and wanted to read and talk about it all year long.

Soooo I just saw Paul in Orlando, about 6 rows back from the stage. I've been sitting here for about 10 minutes trying to describe the experience but I can't put it into words. The show started at 8:30 and ended at 11:15. I can't wait to just hear him say "Hello Bonnaroo"

I'm close enough where I considered taking Dad to see him. Especially after he added to the second night. Opted for Dylan instead. Part to save some cash and head to West Palm and part because I think the setlist will be similar.
6 rows back? Wow... You're in VIP at 'Roo aren't you?

I never do VIP at Bonnaroo, probably never will. My grandfather is very wealthy and one of the people that he was going to take ended up not going so I got the ticket.
