I saw him at the start of the tour and it was very good. It was decidedly better at the farm even though the show was basically the same. The level of excitement and participation from the audience made a huge difference.
Greatest show I've seen in my three years of going. Had a great spot in the pit with @tejas.
How unbelievable was that pit experience? Everyone around us was as friendly and genuinely happy as I saw the entire festival. An amazing and unique time to say the least.
After lurking for over a year (gosh that sounds creepy), the sheer excitement after this year's Roo has motivated me to sign up.
Happy to have my first post say that McCartney was hands-down my favorite show - ever. We had a group of 12 or so in a nice spot on the right, not far behind the pit, and it was just one big happy-love-fest-dance-party-sing-along the whole time. Very few moments in life will ever compare to that.
kerabeara - We could definitely feel the heat from the flames on the stage where we were - can't imagine what that was like for the band!

About halfway through I started wishing that at the end he'd just launch right into the entire set again. Paul was incredible and time has never flown by so fast. A few times I checked my phone and couldn't believe how far into it we already were. I loved everything from the opening DJ with the cool artwork to the banter to even the songs I wasn't that into. My sister watched on the webcast and was very jealous. She's spent many nights of her life jumping on our trampoline at two in the morning while listening to The Beatles. We're hoping to see him at OSL together and have felt pretty pumped for it since this show. "Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da" was probably my favorite of his Roo set but I was smiling and feeling happy throughout it all. Also, I pointed a Big Mac at Paul during "Hey Jude."

Definitely one of my favorite concerts ever, going to be hard for Roo to top this weekend! Also, speaking of that DJ before the set ^, anyone know how to access his music? I can't even find his name via the Google. Any help appreciated!

This was certainly the best show I've ever seen at Bonnaroo, and probably the best show I've seen in my life. I had to fight back tears to sing Let it Be and Hey Jude.

After this show was over, once the confetti had gone off, everyone in the pit just stood there in amazement. It was so quiet you could hear footsteps. Even once everyone left the pit, we all just stood there and looked at each other as if to say, "Now what?". It was actually better than I expected. It was perfect.
i took L$D for the first time since july 5, 2003, at that show and the only word i can find to describe the show is epic. i do not know how bonnaroo can ever top that. Maybe the stones next year, maybe a led zeppelin reunion next year, maybe but i don't know that they could top it. simply the most amazing show i have ever seen. bar none hands down. I told my buddy Jason after the show that i am glad there is now an answer to the question of what is your favorite concert performance of all time that i have seen. before this i could honestly not tell you there were like five bunched together at the top. not anymore.
Does anyone who was there really think bonnaroo can ever top that singular performance? who would it be?
I went into this show not expecting to get that into it but it changed my life! And I don't say that often or ever really. This was my second year at Roo and the lineup was not ideal for me as it was in 2011 (Nectar, PL, STS9, Ratatat were all faves of mine) but I came back with my crew cause I knew it would still be a good time and I am so glad I took the opportunity to come back and see Paul McCartney live. When I was walking away from his show I didn't know what to do with myself cause I felt so euphoric! I have no idea how they'll top him as a headliner. Also this year was a game changer for me and now I must go back to Roo every year and Paul is a big part of the reason I made that decision, but my experience as a whole was amazing!

Page and Plant playing together...Gilmour and Waters playing together...about the only way to top It for me.

Seeing Paul live has always been a dream of mine and my dads. My father passed away 5 days before I was graduated from high school in 2002 and we never got the chance to see him together. The Beatles were my gods growing up! Being able to see Paul at BONNAROO was one of the happiest moments of my life! I experienced that show hand in hand with my father's spirit. I cried happy tears the entire show!
I'll fess up. I wasn't there. I was getting coffee and getting a spot for the Superjam. IF you were to ask me how it sounded, it wasn't the worst thing that I've heard.

I hope you enjoyed the supejam. After the paul show I looked at my buddy and said "I am glad I finally have an answer to the question what is the best concert you have ever seen? Paul mccartney bonnaroo. I have seen almost everyone I want to but the rolling stones and pinm floyd. Before this show I had like five shows tied for number one. Smokey robinson nola jazzfest 2004, the dead bonnaroo 2004, page plant 1995, willie nelson 2010, pete seeger nola jazzfest 2009.
My guess is you had seen him before a couple of times or don't care for the beatles. But you missed a heck of a show. Everyone sang every word to almost every song. I have never.experienced anything like it. Ever. To each his own. I hope you had a great roo.
I camped all day on the rail behind the pit from the moment they let us all sprint in to the Black Eyed Peas, almost as dead center as the VIP/security alley in the middle would allow. Almost needed a pair of Depends by midnight, but holy quack was that freaking worth it. Paul was everything I hoped and more. So many incredible moments throughout the three hours, with the explosive Live and Let Die being runner-up only to Here Today, a song I had never known, made all the more poignant by the wistful look in Macca's eyes when he saw how "remembered" John was before he played it.
