...that they opened up near the comedy tent? it was awesome to have it, but it seems like it was empty 99% of the time.
personally, I think this would be a great place for a 24 hour enclosed EDM tent. bleed wouldn't be an issue if they pointed the speakers away from the which

I support that idea.
A) It would make the "Silent Disco" kinda party available to more people, just without the silent part. B) It would get all the EDM Skrillex loving folk far away from me. C) Would be a popular draw, thus alleviating congestion at other locations throughout the festival.
Reasons against the idea:
A) 24 EDM? Someone is gonna be in there too long and get hurt from partying too hard. Unless they make it AC'ed, I wouldnt approve of constant constant constant dancing especially in the adverse circumstances roo brings on.... seems like a liability issue.

I liked the space being open because 1) you could get away from the crowds if needed and 2) the bathrooms were the least crowded and cleanest in Centeroo.
Turtles are, actually quite sexy, if you think about it. I’m getting an erection just thinking about turtles. No, not a stripper named turtles, that’s not funny. Actual turtles.

I think bringing back the EDM tent is a good idea and enclosing it is a must. A 24 hour tent seems a bit excessive but maybe a 6pm-6am run could work and use the space in the day as another spot for people to hide from the sun in a quiet space?
I vote to keep the space. Open, relatively quiet space in Centeroo is at a premium. I think it would quiet those who complain that Bonnaroo is always super crowded. I know there are those out there who appreciate the space.
Plus, if they opened another venue, we would just get more soundbleed (just like the jerk-offs playing Rock Band at the Lunar Stage during Les Claypool).

Rock Band killed the Lunar Stage. Worst roo idea ever
I dont think you can make the silent disco any bigger. You'd never find a sponsor to provide that many headphones, and you have to keep the entire disco gated so no one walks out with headphones.
They just need to scrap the silent disco, bonnaroo and edm is now way too big for that shit, and put in an EDM tent/stage. they are the only major festival without one.
i honestly think its about time they have a major logistical revamp of the bonnaroo grounds. its outgrown the same layout every year. you cant put an EDM stage in that corner, or anywhere for that matter, that faces the campgrounds. and it can't face another stage. it has to be facing the treeline.

The last thing bonnaroo needs is more open space. That place is huge! There is more than enough space to get away from the crowds. I fully support the idea of an edm stage, which would free up more late night slots, if they could just get the acts to want to play them. I also think they need to expand the comedy tent so that more people can get into it.

This, minus the EDM stage/tent, which is never gonna happen.
but in particular, the which stage has exponentially outgrown itself. Moving the which stage into the corner where the other tent currently resides, rotating this tent and the other tent would open up centeroo alot, and fix alot of bleed over problems

Just because you don't want it to happen doesn't mean it won't happen.

I think the layout still works fine and the general close quarters makes it so much easier to bounce around stages than at places like Lolla (where it's nearly a mile between the two main stages). That's a huge Roo selling point for me.
I do think they need to work on the capacity and sightlines of the tents though, particularly This Tent.
I think an EDM tent would be good, but I seem to think that AC/SF are a little reluctant to do it. I think partially it has more to do with the scene it brings and for the exception of this past year they have had at least one death at the fest the last few years due to drugs and/or hydration.
You saw what happened to Lollapalooza's enclosed EDM tent. It was now this year one of the largest stages at the park.
This year was my first Lolla ever and I loved Perry's Stage. Not only did they have some great acts there that provided great sound, but the set-up was really cool. Even during the day some of the light shows were fun. And the two half circle screens in the middle of the area were great.
I actually wish Roo would in general update their tents or at least add screens. The covered tents at Roo are nice for shade (and Lolla has more trees, so doesn't need them), but I liked how open Lolla's smaller stages were. Along with the screens, it makes it much easier to see the acts playing, as opposed to just hearing.

Man's got a point... especially with all these other festivals ramping up their stages.. Bonnaroo is obviously behind at this point..
Very true. The very first thing Roo needs to do is add a screen to all the tents.
Agreed. It took them long enough to add a Which stage screen. I definitely feel screens at the three main tents are necessary. I'd replace the Facebook "Check in Here" tower things with screens so people who aren't under the tent can still see the show.

No way, man. Those FB checkpoints are crucial to maintaining my social bearings.
Screens are so overdue. If not can we go back to the day when there the name if the band was under the name of the stage instead of directly next to the stage? I'm 5'2" and can't ever see shit.
I truly believe that ACE feels that an EDM stage at Roo will draw away from Moog. I don't agree, but that is the feeling I get from them.
lol what?
you realize not a single act playing moog this year would be on an EDM stage right?
hell, or last year for that matter
the "moogy" electronic acts will continue to be in intimate tents where they belong. an EDM stage is for the pop electronic to please the masses.
as someone else already mentioned, even if you would never see a show at an EDM tent, trust me you want it there. it would pull away the douchebaggy teeny crowd away from the legit acts.
