I kind of hoping we don't get a full Centipede Hz though. Don't get me wrong, I love the new album, but I want to hear some of the older stuff as well. The fact that they were playing Purple Bottle recently has me excited. Honestly though, as long as they play Brothersport, I'll be pretty happy. The current iteration of Brosport is beyond amazing. Newtown Burnout -> Monkey Riches -> Brothersport absolutely killed when I saw them this past fall. I want a 3.5 hour set, is that too much to ask

I'm hoping to hear something pre-Feels. Last time I got to see them they played Slippi and it was awesome. I'd love to hear anything from Sung Tongs too.
Does anyone think that ZZ Top getting a longer set will effect there normal stage setup with only 30 minutes to prepare?
Last year it didn't seem like starting on time was much of a priority with the LN sets and at Pitchfork '11 their stage setup was pretty elaborate. I would guess they'd probably start 45 min - 1 hour after ZZ Top. 30 minutes seems a little ambitious with the setup they had going and I don't imagine they'll abandon that in an environment that it is perfectly suited for.

Not bad. I'd like to see Taste and Guys Eyes instead of My Girls and Brother Sport though. I'm pretty burnt out on Merriweather in general. Did You See The Words, Peacebone, and Bluish are all really nice though.

My most hearty disagreement with this post. I enjoy My Girls still, but am fine with it being replaced by something else. But Brother Sport? No way, that song in it's current iteration is absolutely to die for, it's ecstasy in audio form. Have you seen them play Brother Sport since Centipede Hz came out? I know they've been playing Brother Sport for a long time, but it's such an amazing live song right now I'd be crushed if it didn't appear on the 'roo setlist.
But I am super psyched that Did You See the Worlds and Purple Bottle have been popping up recently. Throw in a Leaf House or Who Could Win a Rabbit and I'll have a smile plastered across my face for a long time
This is in my top 3 most anticipated shows. I'm really hoping they bust out all the stops for this late night set to make up for '09's daytime set (which I still actually enjoyed, it just could have been so much more).
As far as the stage set up discussion. I agree that being on time probably isn't high on the priority list since it's the last show in the tent. I wouldn't be surprised if they start 30-45 mins late.
Edit: Agreeing with frankblack about Fireworks, that would be the tits. That's a song they've jammed out for 20 minutes in the past as well, perfect for the LN set

I haven't heard Brother Sport on their current tour, so I may eat my words. I just know that I'm pretty tired of the song in general and the live version never excited me in the past. I'll go check out how they do it now and see though. I love the song, I would just prefer them to do as much pre MPP stuff as possible since last time I saw them was on the MPP tour. I'd like to see some stuff they didn't play last time. I'm seeing them 3 times this summer though, so I'm sure between all three I'll get some variety.
An extended Fireworks jam is always nice, especially if they work in a medley of some other songs with it like they used to.
I just really hope they go all out though and play late; AnCo till sunrise would probably be the most amazing thing I'll ever witness at Bonnaroo.
EDIT: After watching Brother Sport live in it's current form I'd love to see it. At first I was like "meh, sounds like it always has" but then it got to the breakdown with the drums and Avey and Panda screaming at each other and I got so happy.

Hell yeah, glad you came around on this version of Brother Sport. Looking forward to hearing it again, but wouldn't mind them giving it the axe after this tour.
Also, count me in as someone who would swap My Girls for Fireworks. I'm really excited to see what they'll do with all the time they have regardless.

It will be a very nice summer for you if you get to see them 3 times, I'm jealous
If you have the DVD that came with Centipede Hz, it has a proshot version of Brother Sport on it from July 2011. But ya, the current version is amazing. That breakdown with Avey and Panda screaming was the climax of the set when I saw them this last fall. Everyone was jumping around, going absolutely apeshit. I still get goosebumps thinking back on it when I watch/listen to some bootlegs of Brother Sport.
I think Avey and Panda might have my absolute favorite screams. There's just something so primal and well, animalistic about them. If I'm ever in a bad mood, I know how to cure it
And yes, AnCo to sunrise would be bliss. It would probably top my Bonnaroo experiences to date.

Quotation error! That was Bansheebeat that said that. But I agree, glad he came around to it

Agree with you on the screams. That was my favorite part of Hollindagain, HCTI, etc (including some of Strawberry Jam too). They used to scream like no other.
As the days close in, this remains one of my most anticipated shows. I plan on getting as close as possible for a fully immersive experience.
Same here. I plan on getting there for the end of ZZ Top to help with getting a good spot. I don't need to be on the rail, but want to be close up front. I think I'll probably hit up a little of either Wu Tang or Wolfgang Gartner (depending on my mood at the time) and then catching the last of ZZ Top in preparation for AnCo!
One thing I think y'all are forgetting is the crowd reaction and interaction during My Girls and Brother Sport. I hope that the crowd will be filled with true fans who know most every song, but realistically, there will be a lot of people who may only know these two songs. When I saw them in September, the crowd was singing along and dancing to every song of the set, but the place went absolutely apeshit crazy during both songs. When the moment happens, you'll be happy that they are playing them.
I certainly plan on going crazy during My Girls, if they play it. Same if I get a Peacebone. I saw the Primavera setlist, and I'm glad we're getting a LN, with a chance to hear a more fully-formed setlist.

Well you're gonna have to compete for space with me
I think the competition could be fierce for good spots. I don't need to be on the rail, however. Anywhere from the halfway point of the tent on in would be good for me.
So out of the entire RAM album just released by Daft Punk, "Doin' It Right" has to be my favorite. It's simple but just so damn catchy. I'm not a big AC fan, but supposedly the singer is a guest on the track. You think they might throw this into their setlist?
Panda Bear (one of the vocalists for AnCo, but Avey does more vocals) does indeed do the vocals on Doin' It Right, but I really wouldn't expect to see it pop up in the setlist. I'd love to be surprised, but I just don't that's realistic.

Interesting you say Avey does more vocals. I'd like to see an album by album breakdown of who has lead vox on each track. I have never really paid super close attention, but it always seems pretty balanced.

It definitely varies from album to album, no doubt about that. But with Centipede Hz, I think only two were Panda Bear songs? Rosie Oh, and New Town Burnout. All the rest were Avey, except for Deakin on Father Time. And since their setlist is definitely more Centipede Hz heavy right now, I'd say Avey's taking the vocal lead atm. Plus Panda's behind the drum kit right now, and I'd imagine it's quite a bit more difficult to play drums and sing.
But yes, an album by album breakdown would be interesting to see.

Ah, yea I forgot about Centipede. It's really Avey centric. I was thinking more Sung Tongs up to MPP/Fall Be Kind. Their older albums don't really have "lead" vocals, imo. They both use their voices pretty equally in different ways. Even when Panda was drumming on a full kit during Spirit/Manatee he did a good job of adding those odd/creepy background textures.
