According to the lineup page, this takes place on Saturday. Not sure if it's a new stage, if it'll take over one of the stages, if they'll play in a round or if each act will get a set, or if it's a late night show.
From NFF's FB page:
Mark Bender: Will each of these acts get a set? Or is this some sort of round robin/collaboration set?
You beat me to my own Facebook comment . Two of my favorite shows have been song circles/round robins (Deerhunter, No Age, and Dan Deacon tour; Hotel Cafe tour)

So tonight Dawes is playing at URI (opening for Bob Dylan). I wouldn't be surprised if we hear something regarding them and NFF within the next few days.
But I had a thought, and it'll probably not mean anything - but it is a thought. I been reading a book recently, and it mentions Bob Dylan playing Newport three times in the 60s. 1963, 1964, and the plug-in set in 1965. With that said: Dylan having a set at NFF 50 years after his first appearance? Total longshot, but would be a good surprise.
NFF stated on Facebook that Bob Dylan would not be playing the festival.
Although, I still think we get some sort of throwback headliner for Sunday evening. Right now I'm pulling for Donovan, Paul Simon, or John Fogerty.
I haven't looked at anyone's tour dates, but maybe Dawes/Dylan could do a show seperate from the actual fest like Wilco did last year. That would be pretty great.
Also, this was a really good documentary that came out a few years ago chronicling Dylans' years at Newport from a 21 year old who took the folk world by storm to the "Judas" who went electric.

I bought that DVD on a whim when it was first released. Definitely a good documentary and probably led up to my decision to attend NFF.

Donovan would be great but I bet it won't be Paul Simon or Fogerty, those bands ask for BIG $$$$$ as in major budget and since NFF has become a non-profit they can't get throwback artists that only care about getting paid
This. I'm going to be looking for a weekend pass for me. Think I convinced my parents to go to the fest as well if I could find tix (though they'd avoid Quack Club lol).
Beck just iced a pretty solid lineup. I was just thinking last night who they could add for Sunday to really put it over the top this year - and Beck didn't even enter my head. Well played, Newport - see you in 2014.
With the announcement of Beck, the artists now appear to be ordered in some meaningful manner on the Lineup page.
Yeah definitely looks like an almost final lineup page by size of artist. I still feel like Jay has a few tricks up his sleep, especially on Friday. I really don't see Feist closing out Friday but I could be wrong.
"You look like you're listening to every note." - Lady to me during LCD's "final" show 2023: Mar 29 - Guster Apr 6 - Postmodern Jukebox Apr 26 - Father John Misty May 14 - Taylor Swift (Philly) May 17 - Robert Plant and Alison Krauss July 12 - moe. July 16 - CAKE (Portland, ME) July 28-30 - Newport Folk (#12!) Dec 8-9 - Goosemas!

On Twitter, after someone tweeted that we now had the 3 headliners for Newport Folk Fest: Feist, Avett Brothers, and Beck, Newport Folk Fest tweeted back that they forgot Old Crow Medicine Show as a headliner. I don't really know what that means, but maybe there are two headlining sets on Friday? I really hope that they don't overlap. But I don't see anyone bigger than Feist getting added to Friday night (tickets were cheaper for Friday and there are currently only 2 less acts booked for Friday than Sunday)
"More Artists to be Introduced" is still at the bottom of the Lineup page. Sunday still seems a little short on acts; there are only 15 acts, whereas there are 13 acts on Friday and 18 on Saturday.
This festival is also missing the typical traditional folk act. The fact that the headliner sets are already booked seems to limit who we may see, but I can't see the festival not snagging a John Prine/Rosanne Cash/Arlo Guthrie/Donovan/Joan Baez type act. Where's Ramblin' Jack Elliott's sway on the board?

Fixed
Yeah - I wish, but I slept on tickets again. I'll go for the full monty next year. But with clothes on. Most of the time.
