It's just the Dawes tickets going on sale soon, right? I haven't heard anything about the Deer Tick tickets on their site yet.
I haven't heard anything about Deer Tick yet, so I'm assuming only Dawes tickets will go on sale tomorrow. Ok, bonzai and Katy Mae, I'm buying my ticket for Dawes on Saturday night - hope y'all are still in for this (and others too)!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
I'm trying to buy Saturday, but ticketbastard isn't loading for me right now.
Do you want me to get you a ticket?
Thanks for the offer! I'll let you know if I can't get in by the end of the day. I don't think it sells out THAT fast. I'll restart my computer later, try other browsers, etc.

I was one click away from buying a Saturday ticket, but then realized I should probably wait a little bit longer to purchase.
There's too much uncertainty right now for me with this fest. My +1 may be going to Europe during the fest. Not sure if I'll just make the trek myself, or try to talk another friend into joining (or the least likely option, I may end up just solo tripping it to Lollapalooza or Bonnaroo in lieu of NFF). Unfortunately, I don't know yet whether to buy 2 or 1 (or 0, given that the tickets are Will Call only and I wouldn't be able to either sell it to make my money back or give it to one of you if either I can't go or I can't get a plus 1 a ticket and don't want to leave them behind).
If it sells out before I figure out my plans, and I end up going by myself, I'll likely stand outside the theater and try to purchase an extra off of someone.

So beck's website lists newport as a special acoustic performance and cos reported a little earlier that he will be playing some brand new material. Couldn't be happier about this.

i have to say i love the addition of steelism to the nashville to newport which i still don't fully understand how is going to work but i've been watching videos of these guys and they seem like a lot of fun
ACK. Mother f-er. I see now it was posted here that Dawes was almost sold out on Sunday. Ticketmaster STILL isn't working on my computer so I went to a coworkers to buy tickets for a few different things... Fail on Dawes. All Dawes & Friends are sold out

The nashville to newport set is going to be 3 1/2 hours. I wonder if it will be similar to what the foo fighters did for the sound city shows and joe fletcher will stay up there while everyone keeps coming on stage to play with him.
So I got a little bit of inside info tonight from the one and only Joe Fletcher. He was in town, playing an open mic night actually, and I went outside to say hi when he went outside for a smoke. Yes I followed him. Anyway, I told him about catching him opening for Deer Tick at the Blues Cafe and he said he'd be there again this year. He's playing with some of the guys from his Nashville to Newport throwdown. He said they'll be announcing the shows really soon.
He also talked about how he's doing a big show with Philly's own Toy Soldiers on the 4th of July weekend with Toy Soldiers as his backing band. In Philly of course. I was actually really excited to hear that.
I'm going to have to take myself out of the equation for Newport, unfortunately I'm heartbroken, not so much for the show(s) but was looking forward to my first Quack Club Experience. However, logistics dictate that with a new job I'm going to have a really tough time taking a long weekend as a new employee. I'm planning for Roo only because it's a 3 + hour drive as opposed to a flight, and if I can't get off for the entire weekend then it's still salvageable. Plus I think I can bargain in any negotiations for time off for Roo without pay.
I was torn between continuing to try and hope that it worked out, but then when I see that ITM and others are needing tickets it seems selfish to hold out. I've given ITM first crack at the tickets....but from the sounds of it I shouldn't have any problems getting rid of them at face.
I'm really sorry to miss out on what would have been my first New England fest experience with my amazing crew. Hope that you all forgive me and there's always next year! At some point my life will really settle down and I'll be able to plan things like a normal person?

Yeah, we're def gonna have to borrow you at some point up here.
I was just thinking how cool it would be if Newport was to book a band to perform Beck's Song Reader as the kickoff to Sunday. I know Portland Cello Project has already played and recorded the album.
