What night(s) are you going to Deer Tick? I bought a Saturday Dawes ticket and was thinking about doing a Sunday night Deer Tick - or would Friday be better?

I plan on doing the same thing I did last year which is hit up the Friday and Saturday Deer Tick shows but drive home Sunday night following the festival. That may change though because part of me thinks the Felice Brothers will join in on Sunday since they are up there for their own set that day and if I miss that show I'll hurt somebody. May be making a late night drive home or trying to take off work that Monday.

I thought quite a few people would not be around anymore on Sunday, which would mean I'd miss less as far as that goes. My plane doesn't fly out until Monday, so I thought that could be a good plan. How far is the Newport Blues Cafe from QC? I won't have a car, so I guess that should factor into my decision.

We will make sure you have a ride with someone else, or a ve-hick-le. Its about a half hour from QC to newport as long as ya dont stop to pee in traffic. You will want to go to NFF and stay in town for the after show - go directly from one to the other. The big downside of NFF is you can get in fairly quick if you know how to 'go around' but there is only one way out and that takes time. As we get closer we will work out logistics in the QC thread. Don't stress over that.
I plan on doing one of the Deer Tick shows and will have a car. I haven't decided what night/s yet. I'm looking at either Friday or Sunday since some of you will be at Dawes on Saturday (and I may still try my luck with that at the door). My decision will be made depending on what night/s the rest of you choose to go.

Ok, ok - I think I'm going to go with Sunday night. Another reason is that McCauley plays on Friday at NFF, so I'll already get a dose of him that day! And Fawn - you're awesome! I just don't want to be too big of a hassle for anyone - thanks for the info!
I'm likely in for Sunday as well. I would guess that if there is any chance that Taylor Goldsmith/Diamond Rugs is one of the "friends", then it would have to be Sunday night as well with Dawes shows the other two nights.
(although, Isbell and Langhorne Slim may be some of the "friends" on Saturday night)

If I don't get shut out I will grab you one. I planned on picking up a pair for each night in case anyone misses out and wants to go. Last year I was able to sell an extra I had on the walk in.

IF anyone can Help out ILG, I'll cover the ticket cost now and ILG can square up later. WE will be holding her hostage at QC after all. haha. Dont think its TM... It right thru NBC as i recall. They were not much last year, IMO, $20 ish. Just be ready and online when they go on sale. Its a very small venue and they go FAST.

They were reasonable last year. Something around what you said I believe. Which sucks because they just announced this:

$44? ouch. I think that's a bit more than last year. Still going to be awesome shows. Maybe the higher price will deter some folks and make it not sell out as fast? Wishful thinking lol.

Thanks fawnmart and itrainmonkeys! I'd really appreciate it - today was a bummer in general, but I was happy I didn't have any major payments due soon. Then I realized tomorrow was the Deer Tick day, and I was sad until I realized that there are good people that could help still make things work! If you can't get tickets, it's not the end of the world, but I appreciate the effort (especially since tickets are kinda spendy this year). And fawn, for some reason, the prospect of being your hostage doesn't bother me!
Getting geared up to try for Sunday tickets. I still don't have my plans finalized so I wish I could resell them if something comes up (or at least gift them to one of you), but oh well.

It seemed like I had two tickets for each night in my cart but they all had the same date so I didn't want to get a ton for the same day. Snagged two for Friday but everything else sold out instantly. WTF
Those of us going to the same nights of aftershows should consider driving into the festival together, and just take the same car to the aftershows. Parking can be terrible for these.

I got 4 for saturday. One may end up being an extra if my cousin doesn't fly out from nebraska and i will let you guys know if it's up for grabs when i know for sure.
