Whether it's your first Bonnaroo or you’re a music festival veteran, we welcome you to Inforoo.
Here you'll find info about artists, rumors, camping tips, and the infamous Roo Clues. Have a look around then create an account and join in the fun. See you at Bonnaroo!!
I'd probably see a lot of things over the Lumineers, as they are now the new Dawes. It's like a fall back option for nothing better going on at the time, but you know you can see them anywhere. And probably have four times already.

I've been a huge fan of the Lumineers since before they had an album. In fact, I remember they had made a comment in January or February of 2012 to someone on this board that led them to believe that they would be at Bonnaroo 2012; I think I found out about them due to that, only for them never to appear on the lineup.
They've played Pittsburgh 3 times since then. Two times last summer before they got big; opening for OCMS (I had a test the next day) and opening for Brandi Carlile (who I did not have any interest in seeing). I remember my girlfriend and I considered even going to All Good last summer for the sole desire to see the Lumineers. Somehow, before I knew it, they were huge and their 3rd show in Pittsburgh sold out before I could get tickets (I must have been out of touch with reality because I was surprised how big the venue was that they were playing).
With that said, there's a reason why I really want to see them.
Comparing them to Dawes does not hurt the cause, because I'll gladly pay to see Dawes any chance I can. They never disappoint me.
Does anyone else find it odd that NFF booked Sarah Jarosz, Hurray for the Riff Raff, and Nicki Bluhm such that they all overlapped to an extent?
I know quite a few of you are set on seeing Sarah Jarosz, but can I recommend that everyone check out Hurray for the Riff Raff's new covers album? You can find it on Spotify, but here's a sample.
Since I follow the board rules, I'd never think of selling anything out here. But i will say there are one, possibly two NFF saturday/sunday tickets coming my way that I will be exchanging with someone for like or less value of the printed dollar amount on the ticket.
(I am getting two from someone who can not go and that person would like to see them go to a rooster. Trying to facilitate this if there is interest. Had promised another first refusal if a ticket fell into my lap. Have made that outreach. So one of the two might already be spoken for.)
I hope you're able to find a home for the tickets fawn!
On another note, I really hope that Beck's acoustic album leaks (or at least a few tracks) prior to Newport Folk Festival. I'd hate to have the majority of his set be songs I've never heard.

I don't think you have to worry about that i expect him to play a couple new songs and a mix of stuff mostly from one foor in the grave and sea change plus a couple covers judging the couple shows he played in the last week or so

Were these shows billed as "acoustic"?
(A quick Google search leads me to believe they were, but I can't tell for sure)
Still waiting to hear about the guests at Deer Tick's after shows.
I had forgotten about this, and it gives me another little thing to get excited about. yay!
The only reason It's still on my mind is because I only got tickets to Friday night but I am expecting Felice Brothers to play Sunday night. Didn't expect them to wait this long to announce but I forget when we found out last year.

I think all of his shows except london and boston were acoustic gigs but i might be wrong. I have a copy of the paris show and i think we might get something similar to that show.
Note to self: when researching stuff to check out at Newport, don't go on Spotify and listen to sh*t you already know about and want to see.
I do need Sunday recommends though.
THE FELICE BROTHERS
Seriously, they're damn awesome and if you weren't planning on seeing them at Newport you definitely should.
They have a good reputation for this festival and have played some awesome sets there. They are a fantastic band that can rock your face off when they want. I imagine the set at Newport will be more laid back/folksy but they'll still be a great show. One of my favorite bands and I'm so happy to finally see them at NFF

Lowerdeck - Do you like jam bands?
If so, I recommend Wheeler Brothers. Before I catch any slack, they're not a jam band in the true sense of the word. But they're one of those southern countrified rock bands that really know how to play their instruments and seem to like to noodle around (I'd compared them to something like an O.A.R. or Zac Brown Band).
My biggest strike against them is that their vocals are that of total generic southern rock (Needtobreathe anyone?), but I think that also means we could see them a lot higher on future festival lineups after they catch the right radio break.

Hopefully, they'll be better that Simone at GOTR LD, did you catch him there or were you still taking your time getting in?
Also, I just got a ticket to see Jason Isbell in Hartford the Sunday after Newport (get on that, Katy Mae cough cough), so that will help that conflict ridden Saturday afternoon!
Welcome back Bonz, but I do not find it strange that your presence being requested in the Orgy thread and then you showing up, like it was the quacking Bonzai Bat Signal.
