We were close to ADA in main venue w/early arrival. I don't think they can move it, gotta be close to that road into the side entrance at Main Venue. But yea, killer spot. You didn't even have to leave your site I bet to catch mainstage shows.
Yea I just hope they moved the vendors semi's. At the Kansas location I sat in my lawn chair at 2 in the morn and watched Lotus play. YeePee.....cr****
I was talking to my ex the other day who was really negative about this lineup. She said and I quote "I'm not driving to Arkansas to see Snoop Lion, lol." While I'm not a particular fan of Snoop Lion (Dogg) whatever (I do love a little Snoop every now and then though) it always sucks for me when close minded people are overly negative about something they know nothing about. Anyways, my response was then don't go to Arkansas to see Snoop go for the rest of the lineup (which is sick imo). To be objective I don't think this is the strongest lineup Headliner wise. I guess STS9 is billed as a headliner and that's really cool that they're finally recieving the recognition they deserve. Not the biggest Widespread fan, but they are talented and a good show. Dispatch I've heard good things about but I'm mostly unfamiliar with them. The Black Crowes are a real dark horse for me because I have loved some songs that I've heard of theirs I just really haven't gotten into them yet or haven't heard much about their live performances. And I've never even heard of Amon Tobin??? Anyways my friend said he might be able to get me a ticket to Wakarusa (I got him into All Good last year because I had tickets but was really unable to go) So I'm kind of curious. The undercard is as always sick and Waka's lineup year to year never fails to impress me. The only reason I haven't gone yet is it's so far away but I might be there this year if my friend does indeed come through for me!

That's why she's your EX man lol...I've seen the Black Crowes live and they put on a great show. Will not disappoint. BTW there is supposed to be some kind of surprise announcement tomorrow (Valentines day) I'm really curious what it will be. Hoping for another bigger act.
Very true ^_^ So I looked into this announcement thing today and although I didn't see anything on wakarusa.com I looked at their facebook page and the Valentine's announcement that you were talking about is their multi set artsits. I won't ruin the surprise for anyone who hasn't read it yet. I will tell you the two top artists performing 2 sets, so !spoiler alert! STS9 and Umphrey's are playing twice. That's a pretty cool announcement really, you can either have double the Tribe and Umph or just go see another band during 1 of the sets, or any kind of fun ways you guys like to mix it up. I'll definitely try and make it to both STS9 sets, but might mix it up with Umphrey's because I've seen them so much and recently.
With STS9 playing 2 sets, Umphrey's playing 2 sets I'm pretty sold that Wakarusa is one of the best festivals this year has to offer. I often miss it and I hope to make it this year. I'm also interested in Amon Tobin and the Black Crowes because I haven't seen either of them and just now heard of Amon Tobin thanks to Wakarusa. If I can't get the money up to go I might just volunteer. Anyone else have experience volunteering for this festival?? What do they get you to do on volunteer shifts?
Never been to Waka and always wanted to go. I think we're set on going this year, and I just saw they offer 3 day passes where you come in Friday. Due to work conflicts, this might be a better option for me. Has anyone ever arrived on Friday? If so, how was your camping spot? Also, what would we be missing on Thursday?
Linz, last year was our first year. Completely fell head-over-heels-in-love with Waka! We didn't arrive late, but I honestly didn't see a bad parking spot in MV. Bonnaroo was my only reference, but it looked to me that even the furthest spot away from the entrance was maybe a 15-minute walk. I would think even arriving on Friday, you'll still be in good shape. Matt, I posted on Waka's forum looking for a crew and found one! He even promised not to kill me and wear my skin (which is super important to me and usually a deal-breaker ) Where are you coming from? Would be happy to meet up and camp with you, too! Waka Orphan Camp! Banshee, hope you get to go! This lineup IS killer! I really need to redeem myself with Tribe and Gogol Bordello. After a series of poor decisions, I missed both at Bonnaroo a couple few years ago. I can't wait for Fesival Season to start already!!!

I went to 8 or 9 of them and everyone was a positive and fun time.....Roo board Waka board meetup maybe eh .... cr****
Board meetup for sure! We have a Wednesday arrival pass. When are you planning on getting to Waka, canexplain? STS9 and Gogol Bordello are two shows I'll be at for sure; for everything else, I'm open.
I really love the lineup, and I really want to go. As far as ticket price and the lineup goes, one of the better bang for your buck festivals out there it seems. Still Arkansas is a long ways from Kentucky, so I was thinking bout possibly doing WET volunteer work to get in without price of ticket. Has anyone does this before at Wakarusa? Is it as hard as volunteer work at Bonnaroo and how much shows am I going to miss out on? I reaaaalllllly wanna go if I can swing this!

I've volunteered the last two years and its been a blast both times! I did parking first year and it consisted of a bunch of lounging around...last year I did "pre-fest stage security" and that consisted of literally sleeping overnight on one of the stages.

I am really, really, really, REALLY trying hard to go to this! I want to catch 2 sets of STS9, and a good number of other things here. I do think this is one of the better lineups, especially for the ticket price. My one big obstacle is how far away it is. It's on my birthday though, about every year, so I'm definitely trying hard to make it out there. On their facebook today they said they are giving away a ticket to Waka at a Werk's and Mouth show at the Bottleneck in Lawrence, KS. Too far away for me to make it but maybe one of you inforooers who live out that way might score a freebie there. I'll most likely get my ticket with some birthday $ at the gate or somewhere along the way. Can't wait til the end of May, it's right around the corner!
Yea after we get over the excitement and the fun of Coachella, we can chat more, set up a meeting time probably, and share in times. Waka is the most kick back fest I go to and for that reason alone, I love it... cr****
I'm hoping to win me a ticket too. I'm promoting for a couple street teams and got a good amount of points but still unsure if I'll win one. It's too close to call! TheUntz.com is having a contest again for electronic music producers. That counts me out of it but perhaps some of you do some DJing of your own that you can submit, I'll stick to the other contests www.theuntz.com/the-untz-challenge-iv-making-your-dreams-a-reality If I don't get a ticket through other means I still might even volunteer. I don't want to miss this festival it's on my birthday!
I just saw you were having a festival in E KY. I'll check that out and see if I can make it. I used to work in E KY in the beginning of my career. I literally lived in a Hampton Inn in either Pikeville or Hazard for most of 2009. Small world! I'm going to send you a PM about Waka

So I'm probably in for this. I won tickets through a local "put your name in a box and listen to the radio on X night". I was planning on selling the two tickets to pay for my Bonnaroo trip and because I am already spending more than 1/2 of June away from my kids. I DO love the line up though. Well it turns out the tickets are at willcall under my name as a +1. I've been trying to find a decent camping/car pass that isn't riverside, a ride, and money to go but looks like I'll BE THERE! So add me to the list
