So is there a "home base" for inforoosters who are coming in from out of town? As someone who lives less than 2 miles from the festival grounds, I'll be riding my bike in daily to avoid paying for parking. I'd like to meet up with folks. Should we make plans? Or are plans made and I just missed them?

Lucky. I'm too far out to bike, and parking is a pain. Last year we had a GroupMe text chat going. The meetups where at Hillbilly Tea and Bearnos I think.

Well here's the thing with me this year: I have a press pass because I write a bourbon blog. So I'm in pretty good with with all the folks who will be pouring bourbon. So a decent portion of the time, if I'm not watching a show, I'll be in the new and expanded bourbon lodge. I'm fairly certain I can get you all some heavy pours if you come say hi...

Good to know. I did plan on spending a good amount of time there this year..
We're all a mess of paradoxes. Believing in things we know can't be true. We walk around carrying feelings too complicated and contradictory to express. But when it all becomes too big, and words aren't enough to help get it all out, there's always music.
Maybe someone else has posted on this and I haven't seen it, but has anyone heard that there are going to be 75,000 people at Forecastle this year compared to 30,000 last year? I'm not overly concerned about this or anything, but I really liked how chill and not crowded Forecastle was last year.

thats all 3 days combined.
Yeah, good point. I just read an article online where some Forecastle rep said that there was going to be more than double the attendance from last year. If that's the case, I hope they order more than double the port o potties and add a few more beer vending folks.
As a native Cincinnatian, I did not even know they had Skyline in the Ville. It is unique and you will either love or hate Cincy Chili. It is unlike any other chili you will ever have. We drink it here so I won't need to be hitting it up while in town. Cincy chili was the think I missed most in college but as a UK grad at least I did not have far to go when I had the craving.
I haven't had Skyline in years! I'm gonna order a 3 way dog! Keep a bottle of Pepto handy!
So the extreme abundance of different liquor themed bars on that map they just released is pretty awesome. As well as the huge increase of Bourbon selections in the lounge compared to last year.

God, I hope not. Waterfront Park isn't THAT big. Speaking of crowds, they have started construction on the bridges in the downtown area. They will be shutting down some ramps and there may be more traffic than usual. Please keep this in mind when making your driving plans!

They REALLY increased the size of the Bourbon Lounge this year, both in selection and physicality. Edward Lee (from 610 Magnolia, Milkwood, and nearly every cooking show ever) is going to be making food to go with it. I will definitely be hanging out in there between shows.

Now, not to upstage anyone's bourbon bona fides, but I'd like to recommend the top bourbons worth trying at Forecastle this year because unless you spend all your time there and really hate your liver, you're not going to try them all. Over my time in Louisville as a writer about bourbon, I have had almost all of these. So here's the ones not to miss:
Old Forester Signature Russell’s Reserve 10 year Corsair Quinoa Whiskey Four Roses Small Batch Four Roses Single Barrel Private Selection (hand selected by Master Distiller) Elijah Craig 12 Larceny Five Fathers Pure Malt Rye (limited availability) Jim Beam Black Rowan’s Creek Johnny Drum Private Stock Willett Family Estate Bottled Rye (limited availability)
And of course whatever I'm toting around on any given day in my flask
Old Forester Signature Russell’s Reserve 10 year Four Roses Small Batch Four Roses Single Barrel Private Selection (hand selected by Master Distiller) Elijah Craig 12 Larceny
Those are all very solid, definitely would also recommend them.

The forecastle app is up and running, and does anyone know if we just have one ticket we present each day of festival or do we exchange the tickets for wristbands?
