I've seen the 3D, it'll be fine as long as they play at night. It's just got to be dark enough for the projectors, which shouldn't be a problem. Not sure what I was originally thinking, probably just having flashbacks to this mess:
Fly Lo addition in the nola grapevine rumor mill or whatever. That'd be great, but this fest needs more funk too. If this fest becomes a cross between Moogfest and Bear Creek...they will strike gold.

Anybody know the venues and their surrounding areas? Walking distance, degree of sketchiness (obviously relative to the understood sketchiness of NOLA in general) etc. shit like that. TIA.
It's not really sketchy, especially since there will be more foot traffic than usual with the festival going on. Any hotel by the convention center is an easy walk. Warehouse District will have a ton of bars and restaurants also walking distance. Use Convention Center Blvd. as a main route so you're not spending a ton of time on side streets under or near the overpass. There's not really anything of note on the Uptown side (southwest-ish of the venue if you're looking at a map) within walking distance. Trying to walk to the Lower Garden District (directly toward Magazine/Prytania/St. Charles from Mardi Gras World) from there isn't recommended unless there are a lot of people around.
Primus - Friday S9 - both nights Major Lazer - Saturday Flying Lotus - Friday Flux Pavillion - Friday K-Dot - Saturday Flosstradamus - Saturday Lettuce - Saturday Big G - Saturday
Those are all sourced from the bands' websites or tour handbills. Public Enemy is throwing a curveball on their website with both the 8th and 9th being booked in Kennewick, WA at Mardi Gras World.

Boooo. I can't make Friday and Flying Lotus and Flux Pavilion were two of my major reasons for wanting to attend. Primus as well, who I still haven't seen live (except for that one time at Hangout that doesn't count because the sound was so poor).
I am also pissed FlyLo and Primus are on friday. I bet they conflict too. Can't believe you've never seen Primus. You blew it last year by not going to their late night jazzfest show with Budos Band opening/joining in and Tony Clifton hosting.
